Slow days are the worst but as my dad always says, you're making more money than you would be sitting at home on the couch. Which honestly I would be sitting on the couch crocheting, might as well be doing that at an event and making some money instead!
Exactly! Finding ways to generate profit at all times, transitioning from active to passive, is the real game changer!
Don’t even worry about what that guy said. I could totally see my BF saying something like that about my items, just to try and be supportive. Many people don’t think about what they are saying and how it might affect the people around. He was trying to be nice to his girlfriend, but did it the wrong way.
And OMG, that kitty is so super cute!!!!
My boyfriend does the exact same thing, and I have to pull him aside and point out to him that I don't want him comparing artists, since it can be a devastating thing to hear (ESPECIALLY when people are just starting out). You never know where someone is in their journey, and it can make or break someone

I’ve recently been binge watching your channel lol but I especially wanted to touch base on the wind issue. As a vendor and a previous market host I cannot stress the importance of tent weights enough. One of the markets I vended at, despite the multiple warnings of wind, so many people came unprepared and tents were literally flying which is obviously is a hazard in SO many ways. I always, even on a clear day, weight my tent down with 25 pound weights as well as water weights that hold about 2 gallons a bag. She’s not going anywhere. I’ve also noticed that walls help as well.
Yes, ensuring you have enough weight is so incredibly important. Having a canopy shift is disruptive, but having one lift off the ground becomes a major hazard for the event! Thank you for sharing you experience!

The torture of a slow show is so real!!!
It can certainly be tough when it slows down for a while!
I had my first market a couple of weeks ago, and it was so much fun! It was going very slow and I wasn't making many sales, but then the sweetest little girl came up to my booth with her parents and the first thing she said was, "These are beautiful!" It was so much fun chatting with her and her parents, and the little girl was so gentle with everything, then they ended up getting an elleven dollar item from me, but gave me sixty dollars for it to support my buisness! It's people like these that make every market, slow or not, so fun and worth the time. ☺

I had my event yesterday and didn’t get off to a good start , left some of my displays at home , no covers for table and then left some of my stock at home too 😢 , but in all fairness the day went very well , as I had my lucky back up item my MONSTER LUCKY DIP they always go well with the kids and sold some of my new stock too so was a good long tiresome day but we’ll worth it , I hate the wind on outside markets just like u hard to keep stock safe ect , love ur vlogs xxx

I hate when customers openly shame when you’re right in front of them. I’ve had people say while I was staring at them “you can get these off Amazon for cheaper” and I’ve had one person recently say to their child “your nana can make that sheep” funny thing is it was a pattern I made and at that time I hadn’t released it yet.
It is unfortunate the perspective some people have, and while I don't blame them, they just don't think of the value and effort of handmade and local!

I have a big question for you. If given the option between an indoor or outdoor spot at a market, which do you prefer? I am having a hard time deciding. The weather here in the Southeast in Nov...could be hot and sunny/storms or cold and sunny/stormy. I'm looking for any advice.
Hey there! It really depends on the type of venue it is. For example, if I were given that option up at my local pumpkin patch, I would choose outside because the majority of the traffic will be outside, like families with their kids looking at pumpkins or doing any of the small events/attractions! Also, I would consider where the majority of the other vendors are. If there are many outside, you may also want to be outside as that's where a lot of traffic will be. However, you may also decide that you'd prefer to be nearer fewer vendors to make your setup stand out more.
The gist is this: where do you anticipate the most traffic being? Go there!
What size hook do you use for the chickens? Mine always comes out so tiny😂
The hook size for the pattern is 8mm! Tension will definitely play a role in the size!
Where did you get your chicken coop display?

The guy that was a jerk sounds like my ex husband. He never realized/cared if he said something rude, he just "said what he thought". Those people are awful!

I totally agree and don't attribute it to malice! On a fundamental level, I know that people likely aren't ever rude just to be rude, but that our perspectives are different and our understanding of social engagement and interactions are different in terms of value! In the moment, it certainly is upsetting, but I rarely feel someone is being malicious!
