I've got my first market coming up in September, and I am very nervous and excited for it! This video has definitely helped me come up with a couple ideas for how I want to go about things, and your market prep challenge might be a good idea for me!

Love the longer video format! I'm currently working on your beanie pattern with Bernat Velvet. I'm trying them with several different size hooks to see which one works best with my tension to get the right size. So far the 3 I have done are too big, so I'm trying an even smaller hook. Fingers crossed!

I made a lot of the chickens for my last market and they did so good!! I'm making a lot of turtles and jellyfish this week, I made a couple for my last market and they sold out so fast!

@@camryns_cute_creations it was a beautiful day. They had traffic but mainly lookers. I sold 2 baby cows and a baby cat. I got to hang out with my friends and it was free. So not a total loss but won't be trying it again. Next show is the 12th sounds like a big one too.

My goodness!! Your inventory is IMPRESSIVE!!😲 How many shows do you do per year, and more importantly... how many hours per day do you crochet to keepnso well stocked!!?? Or do you gave hidden pairs of hands? 😂😂
I usually do about 30 full days a year! (VERY seasonally.) And honestly I'd say I crochet about 2-3 hours a day on average!

Thank you for the video! I just bought an addi and have made a few of your hats but what happens when it looks like I missed a stitch? They def don't come out as beautiful as yours!
I’ll have to share some tips on fixing the missed stitches! There’s definitely a learning curve too, tighter tension and going slower helps!

Love all of this!! Don’t discount the cardigan! Do you make your beanies with a machine?
I have certain beanies I do create with my Addi machine, but my velvet ones are all done with the hook!
do you have a suggestion for a doable number of different products to sell? i’m worried i’m getting too excited trying to add too many things and won’t be able to stock up!!
It’s totally okay to have a variety of items too! Anywhere from 30-50 items is plenty for a first show!

All my velvet beanies are crochet!! I do have some beanies I offer that I make with an Addi machine, but they are not velvet :)
How do you stay productive making your items without getting repetitive motion pain? I just crocheted for a few hours today and my wrist is hurting. I take that as a sign to be done for today, but I still need to build up my inventory. I would like to plan out my making time like you mentioned in this video, but what if my wrist doesn't want to cooperate? And I still need to get those items made, even if I am in pain?
I totally understand, and that's why planning out your week to have designated and reasonable crochet sessions built in is essential! I try not to crochet for more than 3 hours in a row (at the longest), otherwise I also get pain. Definitely taking frequent breaks and drinking a lot of water helps, but you are right when you say that the pain is a sign to stop for the night!
I think my baby things sell better as a set with headband or hat and booties? Might be worth a try?
Baby items totally sell well as a set! One of my favorite things to offer is a "Mommy and Me" matching set! It makes great gifts!

Would you consider yourself a fast crocheter? I feel like I crochet so slow 😩. Any tips on how to crochet faster??
I'm definitely on the fast side! But I crochet for at least a couple hours a day, and I've been crocheting the same or similar patterns for years, so I'm really quick at those! Honestly, it just comes with practice! I think you'll be even faster than me in time! :)
May I ask what your opinion on just a good goal for a 3 day fall festival would be. This will be my first set up ever. Don't ask what I was thinking to go so big out the gate lol. Go big or go home I guess. But this festival is very eatablished and sees more than 10k visitors for the weekend.
Wow that’s so awesome! It’s so hard to make goals for a first show because we don’t know exactly what to expect but I think shooting for at least $500 for the weekend could be totally doable! Probably even more depending on traffic! Hope that helps:)
