    Here are the timings with prices: CPU: 0:36 Motherboard: 1:31 RAM: 3:01 CPU cooler: 3:34 Case: 4:41 PSU: 6:55 GPU: 7:55

      This was a complete waste of money. I just did the same with my old PC lol now I upgraded it and it will be used as a private server , cloud for pictures, movies , music .. it runs windows 11 very well. And plays 4k TH-cam videos. My investment $80 to upgrade ..

      8gb ddr3 1033mghz 16$

    Back in 2008 my brother had a Sabertooth 990fx mobo, GeForce (remember when that was the shit lol) 8800gt, 8150 be cpu (scandalous), Corsair case, 16gb DDR3 and I drooled over that heap of crap. Watching him play WoW on it with his massive 27 inch flat screen was the greatest thing I had ever seen. To this day that pc sits under my desk just because. He saved for 7 months to build it. I had to sit next to him on his hand me down sempron scorpion pre build pc lol.
    I have never felt like that again about a pc and I ran it until 2018 after getting it from him in 2014. Of course I grew up and upgraded to real life modern day good kit but no pc has ever made such an impression on me. • @malcolmmacdonald3597
    @malcolmmacdonald3597 ปีที่แล้ว +18

    The performance of Dead Space is actually very impressive with the GTX 280. It looks like it uses all 4 CPU cores fairly well, too. You could definitely bump up the resolution, as the game requires a 60fps cap in order to avoid physics glitches and you're already getting over 100fps. Dead Space is a game that has aged very gracefully and is so well optimized- despite a few technical issues on PC.

    I was surprised the CPU that's not designed for the socket works when you cut into the board in order for it to fit! Many of us will have watched in horror when you cut off the tags on the motherboard, then everything powers up!
    You could try changing a tower into an RGB with acrylic instead of glass, painting the interior black, then add some lights.

    • @m3gAnac0nda
      @m3gAnac0nda ปีที่แล้ว +35

      It's not really beating it, the CPU can't handle the 6800, bottleneck as indicated by the % utilization.
      Edit: come to think of it , the CPU also bottlenecks the 280...

    • @valentinvas6454
      @valentinvas6454 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The 6800 XT was between 5-30% utilization so it wasn't even trying. I don't know what was the resolution but at 1440p the 6800 XT would probably wipe the floor with 280 even with those games in this system.

    What a gorgeous pc case, bit confused by the cutting bits off of the cpu socket and filing chunks out of the edge of the cpu, thats the fastest hack cpu lapping ive ever seen, but i think that was just to get rid of whatever was stuck on it, cause usually its done with multiple grit sandpaper going from course to super fine and checking it for flatness and mirror finish with a flat piece of glass or engineers ruler, best todo the heatsink as well so both surfaces are flat. Thats the largest 850 watt Power Supply ive ever seen that long a Power Supply is usually 1200watt+

    I want that case! That case is ball to the wall man! great video, I liked all the parts you chose and the era. The giant coolers on the memory was completely ridiculous. you know? just the way we like it lol! I really enjoyed this video.
    My only thing would be that the video needs more of a soundscape. it was kind of a silent video for the most part. Im not asking you to speak in your videos or play obnoxious music, (thanks for not doing that) but I dunno... needs more audio. some kind of audio. maybe lol

    2008 was the year X58 dropped.
    If I would do a high end 2008 gaming build I would go for a i7 965 and two GTX 285 in SLI.
    That was the cream of the crop of 2008.
    It made the Q9650 and X5482 look like a midrange option.
    And the GTX 285 was 10% faster then the GTX 280
