Scott said being a Dunmer would be a shitty deal in skyrim, but no matter what race you play, being a dragonborn will always be relevant. So if a character is that powerful being a dragonborn, i do not understand the logic behind Scott's statement.
I did that specifically because being an average dark elf would be shitty, but being the dovahkiin and a dark elf and being the most powerful soldier of the stormcloak army could just elevate the dunmer people in the nords eyes, and it would give them a new home.
A dunmer wouldn't get involved in the civil war imo. If you talk to the dark elves in raven rock you'll learn that they all hate the empire for abandoning them during the oblivion crisis. They wouldn't join the Stormcloaks either because they don't care about outsiders, and it's also unlikely for a Dunmer to worship anyone besides Mephala, Boetiah and Azura
I did. My character was one of those Dunmer not born in the homeland so they had little to no real connection to their people. Which is justified as Dark Elves even treat Dark Elves born and rised outside the homeland like crap.

I just finished my first dunmer playthrough and it's my favorite race for sure because of the great magic skills as well as being such a unique race in the elder scrolls games. The battlemage like play style is my favorite type of playthrough I've done it's truly the best of both roles of being a mage as well as a swordsman.
Slavery was banned before the Oblivion crisis. The Argonians were defeated by House Redoran. The East Empire Trading map and the Occulory map from the College questline shows that the border is the same. The East Empire trading map shows that Tear is still around and is doing trade. The map is backed by dialogue with Erikur. House Redoran killed the Argonians that attempted to kill the Dunmer of Raven Rock. Vvardenfell has been rebuilt according to dialogue with Neloth, Cindiri Arano and the book, the Red Year. Also according to Cindiri, Mournhold has been rebuilt.
And even if Vvardenfell is still under reconstruction the new capital, Blacklight, on the coast of the mainland grew exponentially. Any dialogue referring to it describes it as a grand city.
Yes if you are a wizard or a spellsword/battlemage that uses conjuration, otherwise the best thing is to get 100 percent spell absorption with first taking the necromage perk as a vampire, and after that taking the atronach perk and standing stone.
I would say there's never been a better time to be one! The time is perfect for attaining enlightenment! Just keep faith in the True Tribunal, and remember that this is all part of destiny!
Dunmers are my second favourite race. So if I could not be a khajiit, definitely a dunmer. But imagine being a khajiit! I could be a spy Alfiq infiltrating homes as a house cat, or be a gargantuan senche-raht devouring my foes, or a cathay travelling with the merchants caravans, or a giant cathay-raht making lots of money working as a bodyguard of a noble nord/high elf. The possibilities would be so amazing, no matter which of the 16 breeds of khajiit I were born!
I would have been a Telvanni Wizard Traditionalist of Dunmer Culture that joined the Legion in Skyrim to make a Telvanni Tower at Lakeview Manor when the war ended. Yes that’s my Dragonborn canon.
In 4th era its worth it even more than it was worth it in the previous eras because Dunmer achieve enlightenment through facing adversities of life, and what other era is full of challenges and difficulties for the Dunmer other than the 4th era?
I really hope eventually the Falmer and Dwemer somehow eventually come back in later games. For example the Dwemer could be in a similar situation as Alduin and been thrust forward in time, or a group of Falmer could be hidden somewhere blessed by Audi-El and protected by from the Nords. Saying that the Dwemer as a culture are way too overpowered with their technology and the abilities they possess, the Falmer make much more sense for a return
Scotland Countryball Talking of the Dwemer, maybe they built some kind of insane technology and they never really disappeared they just are hidden from the outside world, what if they are deeper underground or made it to where the entrance to there world is invisible and only Dwemer can get to it?
@@angela_merkeI I feel so ashamed of calling myself a lore master and not even knowing that. Guess I'll have to go back to Master Drew's classes again. Thanks for the information fellow scholar.

I’ve had roughly the same dark elf since Morrowind (as close in appearance I could get in all games and all have the same name “Datharyn Dilmvani”) because I like the idea that my immortal nerevarine is the hero to every story in the elder scrolls 😂
Loreshelter A) a summary video in which they recap and the FM creators decide which races they’d pick. Also B) another one with some of the non-playable races like Akavir stuff. And lastly C) the whole series could be redone with the “4th era born in their homeland only” restriction removed. Plenty of viable content. Oh, and a really fun one I think they oughta do next, I hope FudgeMuppet notices: now that we know what races to pick, tell us what it’d be like to live in various regions! Where would you wanna live? Where would be safe or allow unique opportunities? Etc
I’ve been a dark elf for about 3 years named Darkstar. God 3 years man. Like at least once a week playing in the past month or two. Guess where I’m going after this lol
I'm similar. I always play as a Khajiit, though I'll play one of the Elven races (including Orsimer) or as an Argonian if I wanna twist it up a little. I strangely don't enjoy the human races.
@@phobiawitch835 i can roleplay as human irl. ;3 I rather play as some thing exotic in the game. But for the most part the alien culture of the Dunmer is really appealing. I'm extremely disapointed were getting yet another human expansion with the next Elderscrolls. We did the Imperials in Oblivion, the Nords in Skyrim, and now the Redguard. Yay...
As an aside I'm probably not buying it given Bethesda's recent track record. The races, skills, spells, equipment will all have to be bought seperate from the base game probably.
Personally i would probably pick kahjitt or Dummer. I could worship my three favourite daedra and become and amazing battle mage skilled in sneak and all schools of magic. Maybe even become a high ranking Morag tong assasin.
For a dunmer, the more it sucks, the more you progress to Chim. So 4th era dunmer is perfect. Tho i'd sacrifice a pinky toe to live in Vvardenfel as a dunmer IRL. I absolutely love the architecture, the landscape, and the culture. plus the Dark Elves just look, talk, act, and just are cool
It's MA BOIZ! Been waiting so long for this one. Dunmer for life! Boethiah is disappointed by your lack of resolve, Scott. When the Dunmer have overcome the challenges of our land, we shall be all the stronger for it! And then you and all the lesser races shall tremble at our coming.
House Telvanni will rise again! These troubling times have simply culled the weak from our house and forged us anew. As we overcome this adversity we will become stronger, more powerful than our ancestors who live under the prosperity of false gods! Now I am going to make myself a pair of argonian skin boots. For those beast were made to be walked on.
Proud Dunmer here, always struggling has been my lot irl too, it fits, and being a Dunmer is worth it you N'wah! Honestly the most peaceful province at this moment is probably High Rock. So I’m terms of peace and prosperity, being a Breton would be the best. But the Dunmer are so cool
I own oblivion and skyrim. I roleplay as a dark elf that is a member of the telvanni that after the events in oblivion I return to morriwind and used a spell to preserve my life until Azura needs me again. During the events of skyrim I hear Azura and listen to her telling me to go to skyrim but I'm captured by imperials and when I'm free I follow my destiny and save skyrim but also make a telvanni house (with a mod) in skyrim so that way the telvanni will have more power.
if you live for so long being a dark elf could be cool, once red mountain chills out there is a lot of rebuilding to do and you could bring your whole race back to glory. I cant wait to see the state of morrowind in TeS 6 hopefully it didnt get worse for them in the story lol
If you play a Dunmer in a current timeline, it should be regardless of Nationality. Making a build out of them would fit the roles of Nightblades, Scouts, Assassins, Sorcerers, Battlemages, and Vampires (personally, my Dunmer is a Nightblade). As long as you build the character specifically, it would feel just right.
If the dragon born dlc didn't exist,I wouldn't play a dark elf, but it's just so cool going to Solstheim (sorry for butchering that) and seeing all my fellow Dunmer.
I love the dunmer, my main will always be one. And I’m probably biased too but me too would pick this race. Although I must admit that I would indeed prefer to live in the time of the tribunal. Living in Vvardenfell under the protection of Vivec seems more pleasant.
"If you cannot love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" - a wise person If you are asking is it worth it to be a Dunmer and don't think it is worth it now in the 4th era because their home has been volcanized like Pompeii and everyone technically hates them, then it still isn't worth it if it was during the time of the Tribunal. FOR ELVES HAVE LONG LIVES. You could have lived through the Tribunal at it's very best as but a babe and lived long enough to see Morrowind fall to ruin. We're not talking the lifespan of man, man lives are fleeting and they can know peace for that period of life they've lived; but an elf... an elf will most certainly live through good time as well as the bad. To know this and understand this, TRULY COMPREHEND THE GRAVITY of a long life you will start to fractionally grasp what it might be like and whether it truly is worth it or not. Me personally, I wouldn't be able to eat the ash yams... can't stand yams.
Except warrior based classes, the Dunmer do not have the physical strength to pull it off. Compare them to nords and orcs especially, they will have no trouble carrying battle axes and heavy armor. The dunmer however or the best assassins/thieves and mages, spellswords and nightblades etc.
"How will I ever reach heaven through violence with all this violence in Morrowind?" It's a golden age for the Dunmer right now! Hasn't been a better time to become a God since the battle of Red Mountain.
In regards to the Argonians invading Raven Rock, I think there should have been a quest in The DragonBorn DLC which lets you choose to either help Argonians slaughter some Dark elves or defend the Dark elves against the Argonians
I doubt these argonians would even consider asking a stranger for help since it's crystal clear that they're alligned with An-Xileel. And you must know that they're no better than Thalmor, let alone their suppressors.
@@recklessabandon5678 No reason? I'm gonna go ahead and assume you don't know much if anything about the lore. The Dunmer deserve every bit of hate they get. As for it being worth it, no, it's not at all. If you're living in Morrowind you're living in what is essentially a post-apocolypict wasteland where life is a living hell for you. If you live anywhere else you're discriminated against and at best seen as an outsider and at worst seen as a total pariah. A slight immunity to heat isn't worth that sort of life.
@@recklessabandon5678 yeah sure. No one hates you for your tendency to enslave others. No one hates you for your xenophobic attitude. No one hates you for being part of the cause why we have no Dwemer!
What about a Khajiit? I know they said traveling in Tamriel would be tough, but Elsweyr in the 2nd Era, despite the dragons and rebellion against the Usurper queen, seems pretty great if you were that race. I doubt much changed during the 4th era.
@@dr4g0nitedive29 I mean there's some pretty thick tension between the two kingdoms of Elsweyr in the 4th era. It was full blown civil war at one point but I believe under the Aldmeri Dominion the war has stopped and now the two sides are just sorta pissy toward one another. The Khajiit and Argonians have also historically been at constant odds with one another over the lands between Black Marsh and Elsweyr, and with the An-Xileel ruling Black Marsh I doubt that's changed (in fact it's likely gotten worse.) You also gotta remember that as a Khajiit in the 4th era you're likely not going to have a good time outside of Elsweyr so traveling would suck. We already know how bad Skyrim is and I can't imagine most other human controlled lands would be any better except maybe Cyrodiil. The Dominion controlled lands might be okay though. Overall I wouldn't go for it probably but it's far from the worst race to pick IMHO. Personally I'd probably go with Breton over any other race simply because their culture would be the easiest to acclimate to. I'd consider Altmer as well if not for the Thalmor and Dominion but with those in place that's a no-go. Bosmer wouldn't be bad either if I were to leave Valenwood but in Valenwood it'd suck pretty hard to have to adhere to the Green Pact.
One of the cooler looking ones too. There are a few throughout Skyrim that are quite good looking and their women seem to treat you well regardless of what race you are.
100% dark elf! They make the coolest looking vampires plus the 50% resistance to fire making dark elf vampires take regular damage from fire instead of being weak fire damage! Skyrim and witcher 3 changed Story games forever! EPIC!

The battlemage like play style is my favorite type of playthrough I've done it's truly the best of both roles of being a mage as well as a swordsman.
BRO I SWEAR, YOU ONLY UPLOAD WHENEVER I PLAY OBLIVION OR SKYRIM WTF
ChuckThemClouds Nah it ain’t a night for me
I keep trying to put the game down, AND HE KEEPS MAKING ME PLAY IT AGAIN!!!
(In sad voice) it's glorious......
Thats how you summon their spirit
KEEP PLAYING THEN,IDIOT! GO GO GO DO A FRIKIN SPEEDRUN!
I'm not a n'wah so I'm choosing dunmer. Life is rough wherever you go and the dunmer are built to thrive in it.
Playing a character? I AM THE DRAGONBORN!!!
*dragonporn
@Human Resources i know right? Im so original, usong one of fudgemuppets slip ups as a joke.
Dunmer is the best mer!
Praise be to the Reclaimations and their three-fold virtues of Mercy, Mystery, and Mastery!
My dunmer worships Hermaeus Mora. Boethia, and Nocturnal.
Part of Vvardenfell has been rebuilt, but far from the entire province.
And even if Vvardenfell is still under reconstruction the new capital, Blacklight, on the coast of the mainland grew exponentially. Any dialogue referring to it describes it as a grand city.
@@smithtwentytwo3593 That's because Blacklight wasn't harmed by any of the recent troubles in the province.
@@dutchpatriot17 Yup, yup! Let's hear it for our boys in bone(mold)!
@@smithtwentytwo3593 Pah, I spit on the Redoran.
Dunmer is worth it if you are also a Vampire/Vampire Lord, +50% Fire Resist from Race Bonus is nullifying the Fire Weakness of Vampires
Yes if you are a wizard or a spellsword/battlemage that uses conjuration, otherwise the best thing is to get 100 percent spell absorption with first taking the necromage perk as a vampire, and after that taking the atronach perk and standing stone.
So basically betraying your entire culture and its beliefs.
@@benjaminharmon6541 how would that betray their culture?
Look, free vampire dust for me.
I would say there's never been a better time to be one! The time is perfect for attaining enlightenment! Just keep faith in the True Tribunal, and remember that this is all part of destiny!
What Skyrim is lacking is a lore cinematic introduction to what every race is doing/fighting for before the game begins.
And woth moon suger if ur in elswyr you can change forms
I really love playing Dunmer especially because of their violent nature. Outside of Windhelm in Skyrim they seem fairly well respected
I would have been a Telvanni Wizard Traditionalist of Dunmer Culture that joined the Legion in Skyrim to make a Telvanni Tower at Lakeview Manor when the war ended. Yes that’s my Dragonborn canon.
In my head, that's what I want too.
In 4th era its worth it even more than it was worth it in the previous eras because Dunmer achieve enlightenment through facing adversities of life, and what other era is full of challenges and difficulties for the Dunmer other than the 4th era?
FudgeMuppet I think you should make is it worth it to be race videos on non playable races such as dremora/ lesser deadra, akaviri, snow elves ect
Dunmer: *Worships Daedras*
Me: Great, chees-
Dunmer: *Doesn't worship Sheogorath*
Me:... I demand a race change!!
Daedra is already plural. The singular is Daedroth.
@@angela_merkeI I feel so ashamed of calling myself a lore master and not even knowing that. Guess I'll have to go back to Master Drew's classes again. Thanks for the information fellow scholar.
@@angela_merkeI Yah, sort of. You can just use Daedra like you would use the word people, while Daedroth does mean singular Daedra, it is also a specific species and most commonly used just for that.
You can be a khajiit and worship the mad cat without restrictions.
@@GonLizio9 Indeed, all you need is fur... And skooma.
I’ve had roughly the same dark elf since Morrowind (as close in appearance I could get in all games and all have the same name “Datharyn Dilmvani”) because I like the idea that my immortal nerevarine is the hero to every story in the elder scrolls 😂
Surely this isn’t the last episode, this format can be recycled over and over
Loreshelter A) a summary video in which they recap and the FM creators decide which races they’d pick.
Etc
Loreshelter like all Bethesda games
And will be.
@KerChing ' Is being a Hist being worth it?
5am Scott is on the grind, pls never stop ur the content I need
I’ve been a dark elf for about 3 years named Darkstar. God 3 years man. Like at least once a week playing in the past month or two. Guess where I’m going after this lol
Hey! My favorite elven race! Uploaded on my birthday of all days! Thank you! :D
This has to be my favorite race aesthetically speaking. When I play, it's either a Dunmer, Breton, or Khajit
Then again, as a Dunmer, I tend to strive to master all schools of magic, and when available I try to join the Telvanni.
I'm similar. I always play as a Khajiit, though I'll play one of the Elven races (including Orsimer) or as an Argonian if I wanna twist it up a little. I strangely don't enjoy the human races.
@@phobiawitch835 i can roleplay as human irl. ;3
I rather play as some thing exotic in the game.
Picked a Dark elf my very first time playing oblivion back in 2008..They looked the coolest, can’t wait to see how they look in ES6.
Same!
Personally i would probably pick kahjitt or Dummer. I could worship my three favourite daedra and become and amazing battle mage skilled in sneak and all schools of magic. Maybe even become a high ranking Morag tong assasin.
The dunmer are one of my favorite races probably because of TES morrowind. Role playing is perfect. And just nostalgia. Definitely worth it for me
This series needs a round up video where they compare all the options and choose which races are the worst ones and which ones are the best ones
Worth it. power through suffering. You could rise higher then any dunmer ever if you save the race.
Nooo i didnt want it to end!! I love these videos!!
Finally, the video I''ve been waiting for for about a month.
You know what we want now: your personal worst to best of these in a lore context(and perhaps your favorite gameplay wise)
Yes! Yes Please!
Argonians are property.
Hippety poppety
Lizzards are property
I’d like some of those boots too please! And a coat of Khajit fur!
Meeting for drinks later in Tel Vos, we got all the sujamma and conjured women we could ever want
Proud Dunmer here, always struggling has been my lot irl too, it fits, and being a Dunmer is worth it you N'wah! Legit I try very hard not to cry tears of Joy when I am in Solsthiem, and hear that theme, the sound of Dusty, the last known living Silt Strider, seeing the great Mushroom Tower of Tel Mithryn, and of course, my own home, Severin Manor
This guy knows!
Finally the superior race being honoured 👑🙏
PREACH
It’s always 3:30 in the morning whenever fudgemuppet uploads and that’s perfect because I never sleep due to my Skyrim playthrough😂
Now this! This is a question I have had for a while!
This was hands down my favourite series you guys have done. Every video was thorough and enjoyable! I just wish there was another 10 races for you guys to cover to keep them going haha.
1000% would choose high elf for the chance at joining the psijic order.
Honestly the most peaceful province at this moment is probably High Rock. So I’m terms of peace and prosperity, being a Breton would be the best. But the Dunmer are so cool
I though Wood Elves are the only race everyone plays since every build brings you back to sneak archer.
Great video! Keep up the amazing work FudgeMuppet.
Final episode? Nooooooooooo! Seriously this has been such an enjoyable series, easily one of the best of the channel. Hats off to you guys.
Being the Race of the almighty Indoril Nerevar is always worth it. Enough said.
Indoril Nerevar was Chimer
Ailius shhhhhhh the youngins don’t know that.
Worth it or not, I'm a very proud Dunmer of house Telvanni.
Wouldn't want to be anything else.
What do you mean we're not getting a "Skyrim: Being a Mud Crab WORTH IT?" video?
I always a dark elf. I think they look awesome and have a good effect of 50% fire resistance
This was actually a really good series of videos. Was eagerly waiting for each one ^_^
They are so worth it! Dark elves are badass!!!
Great series. It was really eye opening. That one on the Khajit especially was informative...and subject to too many variables.
My first character in both TES IV & V was a Dunmer. I would definitely recommend this for any player who hasn't already done so.
"If you cannot love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best" - a wise person
If you are asking is it worth it to be a Dunmer and don't think it is worth it now in the 4th era because their home has been volcanized like Pompeii and everyone technically hates them, then it still isn't worth it if it was during the time of the Tribunal. Me personally, I wouldn't be able to eat the ash yams... can't stand yams.
after watching this playlist I'm glad I always pick a Breton
This video gave me an idea to play an Eilistree character in not only Skyrim but Morowind and Oblivion as well.
Dunmer is the only class that I ever play as and Iove how diverse they can be as far as builds.
I started playing Skyrim like a week ago, the only reason I main Dark-Elf is because of VenturianTale.
Can you do the Akavari races? Or maybe sea elves, Sload, Yokudan? Extinct races etc I love this series.
Going to miss these videos. I wish we could play the races of akivir to see if they are worth it
In regards to the Argonians invading Raven Rock, I think there should have been a quest in The DragonBorn DLC which lets you choose to either help Argonians slaughter some Dark elves or defend the Dark elves against the Argonians
I doubt these argonians would even consider asking a stranger for help since it's crystal clear that they're alligned with An-Xileel. And you must know that they're no better than Thalmor, let alone their suppressors.
With that schedule I wonder if the Fudgemuppet crew gets any sleep at this point. Thanks for the content👍👍 hope you guys are doing great!
I'm sure they do since they work out constantly. I'm sure they are grateful to you and the other fans for worrying though.
No sleep they don’t need sleep they need answers
Maybe they are sniffing cocaine, that makes you stay awake for 2-3 days.
I'd still be one, survival is apart of the challenge as a Dunmer. Extinction shall not come!
Being Dunmer is totally woth it. My favorite race since Oblivion. Best in combat and magic.
Fudgemuppet: "Is being a dunmer in the 4th era worth it?"
Me: "Hahahahaha! Oh, you were serious? Hahahaha!"
I mean ya it's worth it sure everyone hates you for literally no reason but you get a badass built in fire cloak so.....
The dark elves, even with all their faults are the most interesting and exciting race in The Elder Scrolls.
One of the cooler looking ones too. There are a few throughout Skyrim that are quite good looking and their women seem to treat you well regardless of what race you are.
@@LadyCoyKoi As an old school Drizzt fan I do love 'proper' dark elves. Being able to wield two scimitars in Skyrim was amazing.
100% dark elf! They make the coolest looking vampires plus the 50% resistance to fire making dark elf vampires take regular damage from fire instead of being weak fire damage!
Skyrim and witcher 3 changed Story games forever! EPIC!
Tbh I want a elder scrolls game where you can legit become the emperor or high king depending on the whether you want to united just your characters people or all of the places in the elder scrolls then I would have the dunmer crusade to unite them and reclaim/rebuild morrowwind and take abit of skyrim to hold as I push for peace throughout my lands
One of my characters is a female vampire Dunmer. The 50% resistance to fire greatly reduces the weakness to fire when becoming a vampire.
If going Vamp, the Altmer or Dunmer make it so crash!
