Fr tho. I think I might do a wood elf next. Probably gonna do something similar to this build th-cam.com/video/Kcd_tv7uZ70/w-d-xo.html Their Telboth Vampire build vid
In the wood elf's defense, if you kill a human, and eat it, it is technically not cannibalism due to you being a wood elf and you're not eating another wood elf.
Wood Elves are my favorite race in the Elder Scrolls universe. They are known to be the best archers in all of Tamriel and are known for their ability to command wild creatures. They make great scouts or thieves, due to their natural stealth and light footing.
I mean, the Summerset Isles might not be the nicest place to be as a Wood Elf around the time events of Skyrim take place. Just bc you're an Elf, doesn't mean the Thalmor won't treat you like trash- maybe not as bad as humans, especially Nords, but definitely not good. Funnily enough, Skyrim is one of the better places to be a Wood Elf. It sure isn't Valenwood, it's not Cyrodil or High Rock either, but it's still better than what you'd be getting in Summerset Isles or Morrowind, and Black Marsh is off limits for obvious reasons- resistant to diseases does not equal immune and Black Marsh has plenty of very nasty plagues. There is quite a lot of Wood Elves in Skyrim around the time the game takes place and I'm not talking randomly spawning bandits. Hell, the first sidequest a new player is probably going to run onto involves Faendal, a Bosmer. If you want to live in a city there are options: Solitude is always a solid choice, Falkreath would be great for prospecting hunter, Whiterun too with Jarl Ballin' himself in charge. The only cities where being a Bosmer might not be a good idea are cities you wouldn't want to live in anyway like Windhelm with its rabid racism and fridgid cold, Winterhold being a pathetic shadow of its former self and a frozen hellhole, Dawnstar being a poor middle of nowhere most people forget even exists and a frigid nightmare, Morthal being in the middle of a damned swamp, Markarth having the slight issue of Foresworn Terrorism, Banditry as well as political corruption running rampant, and finally Riften being headquarters to the literal Thieves Guild (all though that might be a good thing depending on what kind of person you are). And if you don't want to live in a city, a town or a village, there is plenty of wilderness you can call home. Just have to be on the lookout for the usual beasts like bears, trolls and not so usual like Spriggans and occasional Werewolves, and be careful what cave you enter or you might end up a Vampire's next diner, or if you kill them and survive long enough, end up a Vampire yourself. Then there is the obvious threat in those specific times- Dragons- but luckily there is someone dealing with that threat specifically and last I've heard they're doing a pretty good job ;) The second half doesn't sound great, especially at the end, but you can honestly end up much worse in Morrowind, Summerset Isles and hell, even Valenwood itself. Tamriel is full of dangers, and all things considered Skyrim isn't the most dangerous you could pick.
It's a bit ridiculous killing an animal means consuming it all in one sitting. If you killed a mammoth you'd die. That woodelf Faendal had to leave Valenwood because he loved chopping wood.
The eating it all in one sitting thing is likely to discourage the Elves from hunting things that are too big, or encourage having a large hunting party, since sharing a mammoth with 6-10 large families would be at least a bit more probable
They don't have to eat it all in one sitting. They have a 3 day deadline for consuming the meat. So that mammoth could provide you with 3 days worth of food. Of course, it seems highly unlikely that mammoths would be present in Valenwood.
I think it’s safe to say that the specifics of the green pact and all are not quite accurately described in the lore books since they’re not written by woodelves themselves
Did you ever decide, or are you just stuck in a perpetual hell of Hadvar's lifeless star at your rapidly morphing body as you try to make up your mind?

Inherent cannibalism as part of this pact? I wonder if a certain Daedric prince - *cough* Namira *cough* - had anything to do with that particular detail of it...
I'm late, I know. But I think (it's my own theory, and it might not make as much sense as I think it does) that since Namira is the Daedric Prince of all that is disgusting/revolting, that the bosmer of Valenwood would find it insulting to associate them with Namira. The Green Pact (if my info is correct) was made between the bosmer and their forest god Y'ffre, after he gave them their form. Y'ffre is the head of the pantheon, much like Akatosh is the head of the Nordic pantheon, so I think it would be seen as an insult to Y'ffre to say that his will, the tenets of the Green Pact, are disgusting/revolting. But that's just my own thoughts.
@@cary1056 to me, I’d say the followers of namira KNOW that what they’re doing is disgusting and rejoice in the act of grossing people out. The Bosmer, meanwhile, almost are cannibals by necessity. They’re definitely more on the side of obligate carnivores for sure. But I’m getting off track. To say something is disgusting is to impose your values upon it and the bosmer almost live in a societal bubble in valenwood. If namira really was there patron deity in this hypothetical, I think that there would be a lot more conflict coming out of valenwood for one, it’d look a lot more like black marsh for another, and the elves would focus on bringing plagues to Tamriel and just otherwise grossing their neighbors out. But I guess you could also say that not having a main religion focused around namira worship is what namira is all about. She’s about the dark and shadowy disgusting things of the world, where as yffre is about the forest as it is in its present state. The ESSENCE of stasis and change. That’s what it could mean to be an earth bone where as something like the Nine are focused on distant, abstract things like time and love, the essences of stasis, the daedra are focused on things that mortals interact with and deal with on a daily basis, insanity, destruction, ambition, strength, being ostracized, etc, and the earth bones are quite literally the embodiment of those two forces meeting, like yffre, and I believe lorkhan actually became an earth bone as well. Those are just the two I know about and you really can’t talk about the gods without going pretty far out there. However if your still not convinced on the earth bones, consider this: the forest is always changing with the seasons, plants die, animals die, new plants and animals grow to replace them, the rivers and streams are always flowing but follow the same course, however the forest still remains. The forest, AS A WHOLE, lives on. You could say that yffre IS valenwood now. In lorkhans case, red mountain is constantly erupting, even without lorkhans heart there inside the mountain. It seems to me that lorkhans spirit has transferred from his heart to nirn itself and he has become the red tower
I thought the same thing I also thought maybe someone else would think that those old ways were archaic and want to be more integrated into society anyway.
I am pretty sure the by the time of Skyrim, mourning wars were only practiced by the most extreme rural Bosmer. I just started a Wood Elf hunter (no thieves guild), almost pure, raising smithing instead of pickpocket (thanks Slack!). Thousands of hours playing every type of melee or melee/archer, I am ready to play a pure archer. In a few thousand more hours I may be ready to play a mage.
Never fail to bring out interesting lore videos on the elderscrolls. I love to tidy up my house whilst listening to your videos in the background Much love from Scotland.
He’s not. Bosmer can destroy all the plants they want outside of Valenwood. Only Valenwood is protected by the Green Pact, so because he is chopping wood in Skyrim he’s fine.
The Bosmer are my favorite second to Bretons I'm currently playing a Bosmer RP she takes the green pack pretty seriously so she's not touching the plant life in Skyrim luckily I found a Bosmeri cuisine mod so she doesn't have to use Namira's ring a lot. Harmony is her favorite illusion spell to use especially in Forsworn territory that way she doesn't have to kill and consume everyone.
My biggest problem with being a wood elf is the variability in food quality - it differs from person to person. I want to see if it's worth being a khajiit next. I like the kitties.
Pros: stealth archery at its finest, don't have to adhere entirely to the Green Pact (cannibalism declined after the 1st Era), you're outside of Valenwood so all of Skyrim is yours to harvest
Join the Vinedusk Rangers or be a green pact breaker and won't have to worry about the cannibalistic aspect. Not only that but you can still eat fruit if it has fallen from the tree. You could easily get an outsider to knock it down for you.
I think out of all the races I would love to be a wood elf the most unless I could be one of the extinct races such as the snow elves, ayleids, dwemer, or chimer I would want to be an ayleid but wood elves are still a close second to the ayleids, but I’d choose the ayleids because of the massive and beautiful city’s they have as well as the extremely powerful magic they were able to perform I’d be especially interested in starlight magic but the reason I’d choose to be a bosmer is just because of the amazing beauty of valenwood and their culture I just really love everything about the bosmer
To be fair, the Green pact is only really a thing for Valenwood elves - elsewhere, they can probably just live normal lives as any other person. As for "is it worth it" they can pacify wild animals... which, while they can be easy to beat in video games, that could be a vary different experience if you were just some average guy tacking a walk and getting attacked by a bear/wolf/whatever.
Lol I second this. Deleted all my old skyrim data after YEARS of not playing and thought screw it, I'll be a Bosmer this time. Usually rolled Redguard or Orc.
Sad but true. I've been one-shot by mudcrabs, and I've seen mudcrabs eat bears. I only fuck with them if I need to powerlevel Block. When bandits say they've "fought mudcrabs more fearsome than you", I call BS because they still have their arms.
First thing I'd like to say is I'm loving this series! Second after watching this video I've the idea make a wood elf character, never played one before, go to Markarth and do Namira's quest. With her ring I will be able to eat all my kills. Perhaps some of you have already done that?
I really enjoyed this one immensely. It is nice to have a video that has fun and important information mixed together and still have it come across as entertaining and enlightening. After all those things, I'd have to say, I think it would be a tougher choice for me to wholeheartedly become a Bosmer.
Just got Skyrim for the third time a couple weeks ago. Skyrim to Skyrim SE to Skyrim VR. Listening to your lore definitely makes playing it in VR more immersive as I recognize stuff.
I am already a Bosmer in real life, but we are tall lol, here instead of torture, we make the person cut himself and bleed the amount of blood to pay for the sin, and only for the one who killed the member of your clan, then he also needs to finish any tasks that the dead man left unfinished, for example, if this murdered person couldn't finish his poncho the murderer will be forced to do it, the same for things like taking care of the dead man's children's support, hunting for the clan if the dead person was the main hunter, and so, always until paying the debt, it is almost always like this when someone dies accidentally in duels due to stupid fights, the real murderers who do not want to pay the price of their sin are mutilated and tied to a tree so that wildlife can feed on them while they are still alive. And yes, most of us don't eat vegetables, we can mushrooms, algae and things like that. But the vegetable fiber damages our stomach, we do not have the appropriate microbiota for this type of digestion, we can eat raw meat as a trade. Due to religion we cannot eat either, fruits that fall by themselves are allowed, then spread the seeds, anything that the plant itself dropped we can eat, but we cannot remove it from it and damage it by trying to make the fruit fall. What we can consume is Mate, but it is because it is not a "natural forest" plant, it was created or given as a blessing, like corn, tabaco, potatoes, pumpkins and chili. Ideally, we harvest them when they are already falling by themselves, and many times they pray as if asking for the blessing of this act and permission to consume it. The only things we don't have in common whit the bosmer is that in addition to bone, skin and wool we also use silver. And the fact that our average height is between 185 to 190cm, im 198, but we even drink fermented drink with mate, and milk-honey chicha.
Enjoying these very much!!! Maybe once this series is concluded, you could share which race for sure you would choose if you only had one shot at it! Cheers
I was really hoping to be able to see the land of the Bosmer in TESVI, with their walking tree cities and stuff. Maybe in the next game. (The Elder Scrolls Online will probably explore it first, but it's not the same.)
I wonder if you are using a weather mod and/or EBN? I love the lighting and the mountain fogs in this scene at 9:20. Do you remember what where you using at the time? Or is this the vanilla Skyrim SE look?
@@robertcarter2071 Being a Khajiit is the best, I think if you want to have better sneak you be a Khajiit and also you can level up faster as a Khajiit as well and get your skills WAY up there. Also you do more damage cause of the claw attack when you are unarmed, in my eyes a Khajiit is the best race you could be in Skyrim but you have to deal with raciest Nords as well, But being an Wooden Elf is also cool, my brother got me suck on archery, and Bosmer's are resisted the poison's and diseases. So you don't get sick when you go into caves and stuff when fighting those big spiders. But I either play as a Bosmer or a Khajiit in the world of Skyrim.

The only things I'm not okay are the theft thing because it's like you stole my diamond and I have nothing else equal in value so what then? and also the Green Pact is WAY to strict and harsh. as much as I like the look Valenwood and the Bosmer I don't think I could be one primarily because of the Green Pact the theft thing would really just be a minor annoyance. Because I love fruits and vegetables and mushrooms and I could be killed for picking and eating any one of them. So, sadly a Bomser is a pass for me.
you should really get the most boring out of the way so the series don't end in a low note... do the Nords lol great history (past). but a sad present state (a shadow of the former selfs) not the best infantry. not good with magic. not even basic education (compared to Cyrodill ) their only city that is not falling apart is Solitude and that is probably because the legion has their main garrison there and repair the walls. which means the Nords can't be bothered with maintenance and pretty much lost the art for crafts. lost the Thu'um. and have a tendency to have a poor attitude against anyone that is not a Nord. pretty much live in the past thinking they are the greatest nation of men in Tamriel when it's in a sorry state (but they don't even know that) and until proven beyond the shadow of doubt the Nedes are not Atmorans so all that "we are the birthplace of men in Tamriel" bs. is not going to get them friends outside Skyrim but hey... at least they are tall...

Never fail to bring out interesting lore videos on the elderscrolls.
I love to tidy up my house whilst listening to your videos in the background
Much love from Scotland.
Faendal breakin all the bosmer rules
He’s not. Bosmer can destroy all the plants they want outside of Valenwood. Only Valenwood is protected by the Green Pact, so because he is chopping wood in Skyrim he’s fine.
“Thankfully there is no actual crystal meth involved “
"thankfully"
... Speak for yourself

>Cannibalistic Orgy
please never say that again
Loving the series. Wood elves are awesome, and great for role-play, but also very weird.
I started playing again last week and yes, again, totally addicted. Can't play anything else at the moment...
By the way, keep up the great content!
Amazing work as always!
Hmm tbh I've never played a Wood Elf. One the one hand, magic of Altmer over bows. On the other hand... A Bosmer's sniping one-hit kill.
Khajiit next!
My biggest problem with being a wood elf is the variability in food quality - it differs from person to person.
I want to see if it's worth being a khajiit next. I like the kitties.
I GET TO EAT PEOPLE? where do I sign up....I mean archery is pretty cool..ahem
Namira wants to know your location
Well, you are what you eat, so it´s ok.
Pros: Hot bosmer chicks
Cons: Unpalatable diet, mandatory cannibalism, inability to use plant materials, under Thalmor administration...
As a Bosmer, 2 of the major villains in Tamriel were of Bosmer; Mancar Camoran and Jagar Tharn (Bosmer-Imperial)
Can you do redguard next thier my favorite race and i wolud be a redguard
I actually JUST started a new game as a wood elf
The exact second that I finished making my character, this video appears
Lol I second this. Deleted all my old skyrim data after YEARS of not playing and thought screw it, I'll be a Bosmer this time. Usually rolled Redguard or Orc.
It's a shit race... Dark elfs are way way way better
Prajwal VS I like Bosmer they’re the closest to Khajiit and I wanted an alternative to a Khajiit since I didn’t wanna play as a furry
I'd want to either be an Argonian or a Khajiit. I personally think being reborn as either of those two races would be really cool.
Wood elf kahjiit and argonian are my 3 favorites just because how interesting they are.
Great content, really fascinating! Maybe do Khajit or Redguard
Obviously I’m going to be good looking and clever, so Khajiit.
The Wood Elves are my favorite race in the Elder Scrolls I love the Aesthetic of the wood elves and also like their culture as well
I'd be a mudcrab.
why? I'd be tougher than you!
Sad but true. I've been one-shot by mudcrabs, and I've seen mudcrabs eat bears. I only fuck with them if I need to powerlevel Block.
When bandits say they've "fought mudcrabs more fearsome than you", I call BS because they still have their arms.
horrible creatures
Yaaaasss second fav race, longest character is a wood elf, love these so much
Yes they're the best hunters/ archers in the whole of tamriel
Loving this series so far!
Also, the intro song is so majestic and soothing ❤️
@@chimp_monke123 it's actually called Wings of Kynareth. Can't imagine an Elder Scrolls game without Jeremy Soul's music.
Would love to see Altmer next
First thing I'd like to say is I'm loving this series! Second after watching this video I've the idea make a wood elf character, never played one before, go to Markarth and do Namira's quest. With her ring I will be able to eat all my kills. Perhaps some of you have already done that?
I love these videos ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I always click so fast!!!! can you do redguard next?
I really enjoyed this one immensely. It is nice to have a video that has fun and important information mixed together and still have it come across as entertaining and enlightening. After all those things, I'd have to say, I think it would be a tougher choice for me to wholeheartedly become a Bosmer.
It’s always worth being a Dunmer. That should be your next video.
But also, what is a “Wood Orc”?
FUmarc Orsimer tribes of inland Valenwood
Just got Skyrim for the third time a couple weeks ago. Skyrim to Skyrim SE to Skyrim VR. Listening to your lore definitely makes playing it in VR more immersive as I recognize stuff.
Wait... how do they make bows if they can’t cut down wood?
I think they made them from dead animal bones
N O D I G N I T Y Ohhhh cool that makes sense
I think they can also use wood imported from outside of Valenwood. The Green Pact only applies to Valenwood flora.
Skyrim has been out for just over seven and a half years and you guys are still keeping this game alive and I absolutely love it.
I love you fudge muppet
wow bro, sumersive narrative attach with good images, solid knowledge of the lore and a funny/serius way to tell it. enjoyable. From Argentina TES fan
*FUS RO DAH!!* That Intro Though…
Yes it's worth it. The sneak attack plus a bow is lethal. That and I like eating flesh.
Enjoying these very much!!! Maybe once this series is concluded, you could share which race for sure you would choose if you only had one shot at it! Cheers
I would love to be a wood elf traveling Tamriel
Well, you just need TESO
I was really hoping to be able to see the land of the Bosmer in TESVI, with their walking tree cities and stuff. Maybe in the next game. (The Elder Scrolls Online will probably explore it first, but it's not the same.)
Wood elves are my favourite I would definitely be one
I wonder if you are using a weather mod and/or EBN? I love the lighting and the mountain fogs in this scene at 9:20. Do you remember what where you using at the time? Or is this the vanilla Skyrim SE look?
I love being a wood elf and also a Khajiit so play on two slots!
Archer whole game as Bosmer, Melee whole game as Khajiit, Loved it. I was pretty much unkillable.
No idea how hyped i was to this vid, been waiting for wood elf since ya started this series!! thank u
I nearly always play as a wood elf.
I name my enchanted Bow "Tamriel Sniper".
Could you please also consider to do a „Is it worth it“ Video about vampire and werewolf? (Lore context of course) Love your videos! Keep up the incredible work.
He already did those :) those are what inspired these videos ^_^
Bosmer are always worth it.
I'd like to play a wood elf, but their eyes freak me out. No can do.
Bosmer are my 10th favorite Elder Scrolls player race
so they are your least favorite?
gumblebrum in the most positive sense, yes
There is a build on Tamriel Vault called 'the Valenwood Ranger'. All the bosmer essentials: green pact, bows, daggers, poisons. Great fun to play.
Literally the opposite of a vegan? Count me in!
gotta love it when a new vid drops at 5 am....
4 where I'm at bruv
Why do I keep getting isekaied to skyrim.
Really looking forward to your Altmer video! Always been a big fan of high elves!
They are racist but it is your opinion
@@riot7733 i mean most races in tamriel are racist/xenophobic in some manner. I just like them for the aesthetics and magic bonus tho tbh lol
The Thalmor
But for some reason i think the thalmor are the most racist
@@riot7733 the thlamor do have many altmer supremecist views which is very lame. Racism is bad!
This is amazing just like all the other videos. I love the Skyrim community it's the best 💛💜🖤👍
@@sorchatheraven Yes the Elder scrolls community I just always put Skyrim in stead of Elder scrolls I sometimes put both and don't realize it I didn't even notice. Thank you for putting out that it I meant the Elder scrolls committee
So, sadly a Bomser is a pass for me.
imagine being a Bosmer with IBS, literal hell
Ahh, the Channel they intrigued me and always keeps me interested, these are my favorite vids!
you should really get the most boring out of the way so the series don't end in a low note... do the Nords lol
great history (past). but a sad present state (a shadow of the former selfs)
not the best infantry.
not good with magic.
not even basic education (compared to Cyrodill )
their only city that is not falling apart is Solitude and that is probably because the legion has their main garrison there and repair the walls. which means the Nords can't be bothered with maintenance and pretty much lost the art for crafts.
lost the Thu'um.
and have a tendency to have a poor attitude against anyone that is not a Nord. pretty much live in the past thinking they are the greatest nation of men in Tamriel when it's in a sorry state (but they don't even know that)
and until proven beyond the shadow of doubt the Nedes are not Atmorans so all that "we are the birthplace of men in Tamriel" bs. is not going to get them friends outside Skyrim
but hey... at least they are tall...
Yeah but you could be that cool, loner wood elf that strays from the code and is a die hard vegetarian.
Love your content, please do a khajiit next
Im making a wood elf for the first time in any of the elder scrolls series. Archery is a must, im doing a keep your distance playthrough with archery, destruction and conjuration as my main damage dealers. Also will work on alchemy and enchant. Is a weird mix but i want something diffirent lol. A non modded run also.
Me before the video: “Wood elves are honestly kinda lame, I’ll pass on that”
FudgeMuppet: *”CANNIBALISTIC ORGY”*
Me: “I’ll TaKe *YoUr ENTiRe sTOCK”*
You did great with these enjoying them today
No way first dud u my fav yt
I think this is honestly the most engaging video conduit I've seen from you guys, well done!! Think I'm gonna return to regularly viewing and checking the channel
