You would probably be surprised at how many users don't know the meaning of simple terms and concepts, but are also afraid to ask for fear of being mocked. Also, videos like this are likely targeted to an audience with less experience and knowledge than you or me. She's clearly very skilled at being empathetic without being condescending about it. That means you need to consider upgrading your iCloud storage. You get a free five gigabytes, but after that you need to expand your storage. Luckily it’s only $0.99 for a monthly upgrade to 20 Fb!
The best way to do this is to back up the old iPad, and then set up your new iPad using that old backup! I will try to get a video out soon about setting up new devices and downloading and restoring from backups.

If you only want to import selected photos to your computer, I would recommend using either the photos app on Mac, or your photo importer on a PC, because there you can select which photos you want to save. When it comes to a backup, its pretty much all or nothing. Hope this helps!

That just means you have a lot of information that needs to save! or if you're doing a iCloud backup, it could be a poor connection, but 29 minutes doesn't sound too long for a iPad backup actually, so I think you're good :)

Typically when you update a device, it needs a little extra room to update, more than the actual update needs. I would suggest going through your apps and seeing if there are any that you don't use, and also making sure you go through your photos and videos and see if there's anything you can delete, or transfer onto your computer.

I'm lost already. When I open up itunes (which I just downloaded) it looks nothing like that at all. I finally found a button that said "back up" but it didn't do anything. I hate Itunes! Wish there was a better way to back up my phone or ipad...

A backup is pretty much a copy of your device as it is at the moment. The reason why backups are helpful is because if something were to happen to your phone, whether it be broken or lost, you can recover all of your data onto either your replaced or repaired device.

yes! If you back it up it saves all your data, and then when you reset it, it'll be ready to receive a backup!

If you do a factory reset on your iPad, where it says "erase all contents and settings" then yes, it is erasing everything.
