TOEFL ITP SWE 2

In this video, I work through a second TOEFL Structure & Written Expression (grammar) practice test section, discussing correct and incorrect answers. I point out several common tricks the TOEFL uses to distract test takers & prompt them to either choose the incorrect answer or misunderstand parts of the sentences. Tips & strategies should help test takers understand how the TOEFL misleads test takers on subject-verb agreement, word forms, word order, singular/plural, articles, and other mostly basic grammar.

Why 15 not D. Finding. It paralel with churning?

Finding would leave no verb, since finding without a be verb is a gerund. Also, finding isn’t an adjective that could be parallel with churning, and that leave the question of where the mountains fit into the idea expressed. Most importantly, the sentence needs a verb.
I’ll put up some new videos soon. I tried to move so quickly through these old practice tests that I didn’t explain some things completely.

Hello, I would like to ask about number 19. Shouldn't the correct answer be "B"?, such as : The total thickness IS and not ARE. I think the term "walls" was a trick right ! Cause in comparison it is right to use "that of". Thanks !
