I think the correct answer for number 23 is C and not D! Because C "Height" should be changed by "Top". So in the complete sentence, it will be "retired at the top of the career", the word "height" doesn't represent the career.

I agree with Raniri. The expression "at the height of "her" career" sounds not natural. Or at least, it needs more information.

can anyone tell me why the number 12's asnwer is C? isn't it will have double main verb in one sentence?

Dimana kalau itu dibagi menjadi dua kalimat, kalimat pertama bunyinya: There were over sixty steamboats on the mississippi river by 1820. Kalimat kedua bunyinya many of them (sixty steamboats) were quite luxurious. berhubung itu digabung jadi dua kalimat maka bunyi kalimatnya sebagaimana disoal tapi themnya diganti dengan which sebgai conector.

Machinery is an uncountable noun. Don't say 'machineries' or 'a machinery'. You can talk about a piece of machinery.
Answers 17, 22, 26, 32, 33, 35, and 39 are meaningless.

Because after preposition “of” must be noun , moreover before and after “and” must be the same type of words. In this question, wealthy is adjective but status and love are noun

“Ripe” is an adjective. To make the sentence correct, we need to replace “ripe” (adj) with “ripen” (verb)

I got 28/40. Some of the incorecct answers were already understood, but i still wonder with some answers, can anyone help me with questions no. 9, 24, 30, 32, 37 and 40 please 🙏
No. 24= it should be HER career
No. 30= should be THERE IS
No. 32= should be to RIPEN (ripe is adjective, not the correct verb to use)
No. 37 = should be either MACHINES or MACHINERY (because machinery is an uncountable noun therefore, the plural form is still machinery not "machinaries")
No. 40= it should be native bird (because the adjective should be in front of the noun to make a noun clause)
For number 9, i also got it wrong lol
I thought the correct one was A but it's wrong i guess. So i don't have explanation on that one.

Because "Whenever" is a place expression, and then you have to invert the verb "be"

( Use "a native of" when you're talking about where a person was born, for example: I am a native of Detroit.
Use "native to" when you're talking about a category, characteristic, or species, for example: Tigers are native to India. (I have no idea if that is factually correct, btw. )
