- We went to the Tinley Park, IL reptile show (aka North American Reptile Breeders Conference/NARBC) and had a blast! We picked up some wonderful new additions to our breeding program, plus great stuff for our store! And, the Where's Waldo dress theme was a hit!

There is nothing better than Where is Waldo, Snake discovery style at 6 o'clock in the morning. Also, the thoughtful parents proof once again that the snake discovery Fandom is awesome and one of the most friendly communities I have ever known.

the 12k hognose at the tinley show was a solar storm(super conda sable albino) if anyone was wondering I also passed on it due to price but i didn't know it was a world first! it was cool seeing it

@@joans3699 we were learning about body systems and my teacher wanted to make it more interesting since we were a day ahead of the other classes, so we just learned a lot about reptiles' body functions and systems. Other than the people who don't like snakes, just about everyone enjoyed it, and my teacher made a Where's Waldo thing with a snake Waldo-- it was kinda funny. sadly that about the best way I could describe the lesson since I'm not too good with those kinds of things :>

1. Seeing a breeder who specializes in axanthic ball pythons has made my weekend. 2. That is indeed a monstera deliciosa, that is a generous gift! 3. All the Waldos also made my weekend.
I saw the variegated plants in there too and was like wait is it a variegated monsters?!?

@@tzaphiel2113 nah, it seems like those are multiple plant cuttings, one monstera and the rest are pothos (brasil, a micans and i guess a happy leaf or marble (would say marble))

You guys are so committed to your fans. It's really cool. It's also really cool of those people to tell everyone to stop the line so you could get a break. I imagine standing meeting person after person for 4 hours is mentally and socially draining

The daughter of a friend also watches your channel. Second time I met her, she was really shy still, until I brought up Snake Discovery. She brightened and chatted more, since we found common ground with such a great channel.

Absolutely! I’ve got a doggo rather than any reptiles, but watching Emily and Ed talk about them will NEVER get old! I especially enjoy the rescue stories and seeing the individual care they provide to each critter that comes in, along with their policy of not judging people who have to surrender their reptiles! I hope I’m never in a position where I can’t take care of my dog, but if it ever did come down to that, I would hope I could find somebody like them to get him to somewhere loving and safe!
Those axanthic ball pythons are so gorgeous! I don’t think I’ve ever fully appreciated the morph until I saw JD’s animals in this video. Such a beautiful color morph.
I just love how Emily and Ed have embraced their fans. Instead of getting egos about being so popular, they just continue to have fun with everyone and seem to truly appreciate the fact that all the fans really means that they are getting their education message out successfully. Meeting them is definitely on my Bucket List!

Love it all. My favorite bit is the Stoned Gecko lady talking about what good pets Chahouas are, and at least 2 fingers are bleeding! LOL
I can vouch for Stoned Geckos.
They came to our local show and I bought a Chahoua from her three weeks ago.
They are incredibly friendly, informative, and her geckos are well socialized.
I notice the lady showing them off has bites all over her fingers! Lol

Just wanna say, this community is one of the most wholesome, considerate, and fun I've seen on youtube. You guys should be very proud of fostering such a beautiful community.

I saw y’all several times on Sunday, but you seemed so busy and there was always a group of littles waiting patiently for your attention. So heartwarming to see you take the time for them. This was my first reptile show - thank you for igniting my love for snakes!!
Y'know, seeing these it never really occurred to me...But you guys are making the reptile hobby not just an alternative or country thing, but also a thing for kids and their families. That is awesome and y'all are doing so well

I talked to you guys in Schaumburg so just waved at you a bunch of times as we crossed paths. I bought so much stuff for my leopard geckos this Tinley, they have new bigger enclosures, and so many new hides. Was very tempted to pick up other animals since I now have empty enclosures 😂🤣😂

The color might have shown better on camera because of the white "background" pellets the snakes were in in the deli. Could also be the sunlight. If you don't already have photo box lighting it might be worth looking into, especially for those beautiful lavender hognose's. I've been waiting for this video. Looked like a blast. So great to see all the vendors and all the fans! I'm glad you guys had a more chill experience this year, I remember it got pretty hectic at the last one. Buying the stuff seems like it's real hard to balance with the meet and greets! Hoping for good health and sturdiness for those tiny hogs, so you can have them and breed them for years and years into the future! :)
Props to Ed! I am not sure I would be so nice getting filmed while asleep and then a curtain of sunshine in my face first thing. You rock, Ed! The face of the little boy when Emily and Ed come through the Fire and Ice Reptiles display is too cute. Emily's interaction with the kiddos has all the feels. I love all the shots of the mantids and the lady with Stone Geckos - just loving her breed. I have to make it to one of these events.

It's so wonderful that you want to meet your fans in this way, though i think at this point you might need a few helpers when you do meet and greets so that you do get a chance to have a break. Maybe some of your fans who have other con volunteer experience in the area who could help out.

I went to my first reptile expo last weekend. Your tips for expo etiquette was so helpful.
I’ve met Emily before, not at tinley or a meet and greet. I met her at her reptile zoo/store like maybe more then a few months ago. She was so nice! We got a picture and meting her was amazing. Think my heart skipped a few beats hehe…it was an experience. If you get the chance to meet her, do it! Ed was busy, I didn’t meet him but it was so fun.
I want to meet her so bad!!!! I have communicated with several fans who have met her, and they all have said she truly is the sweetie pie she seems in her videos!!! I have also personally spoken to her through email. I want to meet her badly enough to take a huge step in my life, and drive across the country to meet her. I'm in Michigan, so it's a 10 hour drive. I'm honestly very nervous about it, but meeting Emily is a very strong motivation to me to go that far out of my comfort zone. I've never left Michigan without my family, or with some kind of chaperone. I'm old enough now that I could do it, but I haven't. I've come very close to buying a plane ticket to go meet her!!!
@@ThePhoenixUnderwater if you want to break up your drive, take the Lake Express ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee if you can afford it. It's nicer than driving through Chicago

@@elsie_edits7197 It would be a major dream come true for me. Emily has made such a deep positive impact on me. I discovered her 4 months after 2 friends "threw me to the wolves" abandoned our friendships, like it never mattered to them. I was in a very dark place, and she was a very bright light at the end of the tunnel.
The army of Waldos made the already exciting reptile show even more exciting.

I don't know if anyone else has identified them for you, but the plants look to be a monstera deliciosa (like you mentioned), the random splotchy vine is a golden pothos, and the one with lighter green/yellow down the center is a philodendron brasil.
Edit: I think I also see a mican, the one with an orange undertone

To funny, we made it in a Snake Discovery video sitting on the ground against the wall at 4:40. First time at Tinley reptile show, was able to see you two fantastic people and Dave Kaufman. I learned a very valuable lesson here, stick with the vendors you know. I unfortunately had a not good experience purchasing two Uromastyx from one of the vendors out of Lockton, NY. You both are so fun and to see you in action was a blast. My husband still can't believe how tall Emily is. Thanks for being such good representatives. 🥰 Much love to you both.

I agree that chahouas are smart and bond with their owners. I have a crested/chahoua gecko hybrid and I can really tell that he has some stuff going on upstairs unlike cresties 😄 he also begs to get out every night. I'm not even exaggerating. I love it. He's my buddy ❤️

At 13:02 in the video at the black and white booth they show a snake that has a lot of different variations of smily faces and it's the most adorable thing ever!
i'm catching up on all these vids after dropping off for a while, but the contrast between the toffee belly and the wild-type conda makes the wild-type look gorgeous as well. more so than usual imo!
You know what I absolutely love is watching other youTubers videos from Tinley and seeing so many people dressed as where’s Waldo it made me so happy and now your video is finally out which makes me even happier
One day, when I am living in Michigan again, and it's only a 4 hour drive to Tinley, I will return to the NARBC just so I can run into you two. Love your channel. Saw my first pet reptile there when I lived nearby. Got a Giant Leachie a few months after the show. Still have him, 9 years later.

Went to my first expo on the 18 or 19th of October and omg was it fun!!! I'm so glad I found your guys content. It's because of you guys that Ive gotten into reptiles and I hope to get a snake soon. Also Emily and es are so cute together.
Ooo, an orange bitey thing. Aka OBT. Beautiful tarantulas, sadly lots of people in my family are afraid of spiders and I would never be able to manage one.
You're gonna have fun with the OBT. I'd definitely rehouse it though. They are fossorial/terrestrial and HEAVY webbers so if you give them a few inches of substrate to make a burrow and some sticks, fake plants, or some kind of decor to anchor their webs to, they will absolutely fill their enclosure with webbing. They will feel more secure with an appropriate burrow and be a bit less....ahem....spicy lol.

I wish schools taught me more about specifically reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates! If there was a GCSE course on those three you know I’d be taking it!!!! If my teachers bring up snakes I literally snap out of the trance and I’m intent to listen. I love them so much! And I’ve learnt so much thanks to you guys 💗

I'm just like John from JD Constriction. I never really fell in love with ball pythons until I saw my first axanthic. Now I'm building my own silver army of snakes. However, I am working with the VPI line.
But yes, his table did have that cool affect of everything being black and white.

I think learning about the Chahoua was very interesting. I think you guys should do more of that where you go to less common or talked about reptile breeders
