    Like the video. One change I'd make is let the captions stay up a abit longer. I have to pause at each one if i need to read it. Thanks for this though!

    Thanks for the explanation. I kind of enjoy these videos as well. As an Amtrak commuter for eight years (Capitol Corridor) I can't help but be interested in how pasenger rail systems work and where things are headed. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!

    Always like seeing MBTA F40PH's. Once i'm done building out my N scale Amtrak fleet I may add a few MBTA units. Unfortunately they're not widely represented in N scale so will likely have to have some custom painted units made. Rapido has some lovely H.O. scale MBTA stuff, though.

    Amazing video, I’ve never gotten to go on the Northeast Corridor yet from D.C. to Boston. I really want to soon since there are so many locomotives I have not seen yet.
    Anyways, like I said, amazing video! Keep up the great work!

    Good video. Subtitles not on the screen long enough to read.

    It’s such a shame the MBTA still has the audacity to run its dinosaur diesel fleet directly underneath catenary… if the MBTA is really considering a regional rail model, it must take the procurement of EMUs seriously- it’s already bad enough they’re not electrifying the under construction south coast rail initiative (Fall River/New Bedford line).

    • @Qazwsxedc165
      @Qazwsxedc165 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They should get ALP-45DPs. It would allow them to electrify for cheap.

    • @toadscoper4575
      @toadscoper4575 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Qazwsxedc165 if it’s true that Amtrak is retiring it’s entire fleet of acs-64s, that’d also probably be a pretty good alternative for the MBTA, as they can retain their current coaches for the time being. From what I’ve gathered, the MBTA wants to procure EMUs for the Providence/Stoughton line sometime this decade, with the two manufacturers most likely to build rolling stock being Alstom and Stadler. Granted, it’s been nearly a year since the MBTA has announced anything concrete, so who knows what’s even going to happen at this point…

      The mbta literally has one line under wires and it’s at less than 10 stations you gotta be realistic here lol that’s not gonna happen anytime soon

    46 has a mechanical bell. That so interesting considering that it had a e-bell before

    • @southmassrailfan
      @southmassrailfan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It had a mechanical but they replaced it with a Ebell shortly afterwards

      @@southmassrailfan oh okay, thanks. I seen other videos of the locomotive with an e-bell, but this is the first one to have seen having an mechanical bell. But thanks for telling.

      @@norCali36 yeah. The ebell then was not working right then they replaced it again. 46 has a weird bell history lol

    I still have trouble understanding why the Lake Shore Limited consists after Albany is extremely short

    • @FFred-us9tw
      @FFred-us9tw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the train splits in Albany. Half of it goes to Boston the other half goes to New York City. That’s why the section is so short. It’s only half the train

    wouldn't call them rare, but rather antiquate & obsolete, given how other developed countries are constantly upgrading their railing infrastructure. As an MBTA customer, they're a disaster from every POV, and now with the plan-demic going on, their only "solution" to every mismanagement is to hike prices with offering the same sloppy service
