I met Kim Peek twice. He remembered me the second time even though it had been a few years. He was a sweet, warm man with an amazing mind. His wonderful father’s sacrifice to be his full-time caretaker should be praised along with Kim’s memory!
I once met a woman in a homeless shelter and watched her as she pencil sketched a very detailed portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II as she looked on the day of her Coronation. She did this intricate portrait with her EYES CLOSED. She later told me that she never puts her signature on any of her portraits because she doesn't take credit for any of them. She told me; "They come from some other place."

Also accepting, encouraging environment most definitely plays a huge role as well! Harder for one to grow or thrive in an abusive, toxic environment. I'm sure nurture, love, protection, encouragement definitely plays a huge part. Esp to ones psych/growth. + development, personality, emotional intelligence, confidence, self Esteem, etc. Not everyone Gets as Lucky as to have a decent environment! big props to those parents. 🤗

I think other basic skills should be taught also. Her parents aren't going to live forever. Someday she may have to go to the store by herself and won't be able to calculate the tax or change and that's sad.
Depends on the case to be honest. For the pianist is rather the opposite IMO, parents who wish they were genius, reflecting their wishes on their kid. For the chemistry kid, the parent also seems to be a big influence, he is a genius don't get me wrong, but his father stated that this comes inherently, implying he's also a unexploited genius, thus why he does it on their son. Donno man, not so nice to me
I absolutely love how majority of these parents are just allowing their kids to grow their talents, at the kids request, they're not forcing them into it like you see on most gifted kids shows

Why becauseetting children follow what they see is true is the truest way to bring up a child let God guide the children not men.
Except for the pianist's parents. He came to his father for approval after the jazz session and the father implied that he had not done his best. The boy was so tired and had a back ache, and had tears in his eyes when he realised he didn't perform at peak level. That boy will probably not grow up to be a happy adult. He was expected to excel since birth, and it shows in the way he talks and thinks.
@@halcyonsikes7018 I disagree. My parents always told me how smart I was and blah blah. Looking back, I was a normal intelligence kid that felt like I had higher standards set. If they would've seen my grades and said "you can do better" I think I would've been disappointed at the time, but appreciative later. The father said what he did because he knows his son is capable of more. His son already knows that, he expressed it himself.

What happened in that video was not a parent encouraging a typical unmotivated kid with avarage intelligence. This video shows a child that has already reached his limit and is pushed even further.
I looked up Kim Peek and was devastated to learn that he died in 2009 from a heart attack and his father Fran died in 2014. Breaks my heart knowing they were trying to plan for Fran’s death and Kim’s care but instead Fran had to bury his son who he had cared for all his life 😔 RIP Fran and Kim Peek

I feel so bad for that little boy at 31:23 -- he felt like he failed everybody and almost broke down crying. His standards are so high he won't accept how brilliant he is even after exhaustion and tiredness sets in. I wish I could tell him how wonderful he really was.
Go back and watch it again. His dad touched his face over and over again with such loving energy . His son was reenergized and decided to continue. His Dad knows him. loves and supports him. It is obvious that he is not pushing him . I thought he was perfect with his son.
when the mom said that kids should focus their energy into field in which they are interested in. i agree 100%. people who have amazing skills like these practice them at such a young age they are a part of them into adulthood weather they know it or not.. those paintings were Beautiful btw!!
i wrote short stories, could draw anything, other talents. all gone. you need parents & schools to push & rcocognise these abilities. not become just another sheep,number..like the guy with brain damage. people have had head trauma,to the side,& woke up genius. what does that tell you.. i know for a fact,we have dna,turned off. put 2 & 2 together.. the girl painter. might be getting messages from a higher source,,but not god, do you belive in b/foot.?. they talk to you in your head..fact
Same, I could pick up on almost anything I became interested in art being one of the first and martial arts next followed by science and math but the main ones I focus on now are martial arts and mechanics. I wish I would have never stoped drawing but I got to caught up in the world and adulting now I feel as if I can draw a thing
Loved the Mama’s response regarding her daughter’s childhood, so true. She’s learning, growing, enjoying true nature, loved on by family and developing her spirituality in her own way. It’s an absolute beautiful almost perfect childhood. She seems genuinely happy. Truly happy. Her family also seems to be very supportive, loving and humble. I’m sure they may receive some negative feedback bc theres money being made, but this is not Hollywood. She is not surrounded by filth, ill intentioned ego driven types, she is being cared for and allowed to flourish. Most of us don’t understand what is going on inside her to push her to create the art, seems as if her family has been able to cater to her unbelievable talent as well as keep her grounded in family. I really adore her story. Such a beautiful girl and her art is breathtaking. I kept going back and looking at her pieces. Exquisite. Hope she is still doing well today.

Parents are showing true support for their children. They are not trying to change them for the sake of the world, but to keep them to who they are. All are inspirations.
"What is the use of education if we do not become creative, concious and truly inteligent." Teachers including parents, mentors etc should be teaching children from young how to think independently, providing them with opportunities to create. Its true to say that most of the human race is unconscious, asleep, however we are good at imitating robots. So inspiring and wonderful to see such creative power by these beautiful beings.
I can't quite seem to put my finger on it, but there is something about this video that says a lot about reality. Maybe there is a number of amazing phenomenons and discoveries that we just haven't realized yet. This gives me hope and excitement in a way. Thanks for sharing

We're conditioned from birth to believe we are ordinary. Videos like this prove we are anything but. The powers that be don't want a self assured society self doubt is the modus operandi and creates a confine of being trapped in mediocrity and a reliance on government.
The piano kid is really great. You can tell he is musical, he understands how to express himself and he cares about phrasing, the emotion he gives trough music more than the technical stuff. It is a stark contrast to the countless "musical genius" kids who are just very technically drilled since they were 3 years old but don't have any musical understanding of what they do. The pressure on him to perform must be unbearable, but I feel that he will be a successful artist one way or another.
My Son had some amazing musical abilities. Without a lesson he just started playing his favorite songs It scared me because he wanted only to play music.

Imagine how much talent and passion would be in the world if our time wasnt wasted being put through school and then work. These kids were so lucky to be supported amd encouraged.
As a young child I was always ahead of my age group in reading and math, because we played games and made it fun. Then in the second year of school the games stopped and out came the books and pens, I then failed the rest of my school life and didn’t even finish high school. Now I’m 27 and studying what I enjoy and once again I’m ahead of class. If you enjoy something you can be great at it.
Yep. I’m a high school junior and I love chemistry. I study chemistry on my own outside of school so I read about topics we haven’t yet learned about in class but that doesn’t matter because I have to stay constrained to what we are doing in class.
@@wm4893 a lot of the geniuses in history certainly were better intellectually equipped than most, but it was there curiosity that made them do great things.
About the first one, the artist.. This has got me feeling kinda guilty. She said once she discovered this "Gift" she never stopped. I too just learned from almost nowhere how to sculpt, all self taught. But the difference is I just randomly stop doing this art, sometimes for months. Thinking about it now I feel this is a waste of a gift on my part. This girl has inspired me to "get it together"! Thank you for that! Also, you work beautiful!
Me and my two younger brothers were gifted each in various fields yet we took a speed reading course at a university and each of us out did the college students. Yet i was the slowest. 2nd oldest was the best. He read the bible 3x during a summer .i test him by reading a random verse and he could tell me book,verse and phrase. He read over 1700 words a min with 85% comprehensive. I read 900 + @ 75%comprehensive yet my abilities were great yet sad with 100 % success. Yet sad. I advice certain military generals. Yet you ever wonder how fbi could arrest 21 terrorist and convict in one year. Lol. No $$$

No, the base player was completely out of order and doesn't nurture him at all, told him je was being unprofessional for wanting to stop playing, he is a child and was exhausted. Not encouragement at all.
I agree. They obviously know his personality better than an internet audience does. I agree with another comment I read that said he probably wants that challenge. He's not asking how his performance was just to get flattered. He actually wants to constantly improve.
Seeing a little kid play a piano like that really is an incredible experience. Not quite the same level, but I once had a 6th grade student who shocked me at the end of the year by playing Senbonzakura nearly flawlessly (at full speed) at the end of the year. Didn't even know he played. Blew me away.

I heard about Akiane yrs & yrs ago when I bought her 1st book after seeing her on a talk show. I still have it. Her gift left a massive impression on me. Beautiful painter & poet! Respect to the parents for supporting their gifts!
@@BorisNoiseChannel Yes, but it's a family business & they're employed by her. They all have their own duties. It only showed a little bit about her business, but they handle everything from book keeping, scheduling events, gallery viewings, packaging & shipping, all her travel etc. The list is much longer, but you get the idea. Imo they earn it instead of a lot of parents of famous children in Hollywood who "manage," their child AND their money.
My niece was gifted with a natural musical ability, following in her mother's footsteps. She learned classical guitar very young. But I don't think she wanted to be just like her mom. She did direct the school choir at a very young age, but then branched out to play tennis and was excellent at that. Then she chose to fly planes. She's thinking of becoming a pilot. She has already completed her solo flights, etc. She's talented in so many areas that she finds it hard to choose! All this, and she's only 20. On top of this she has a large group of friends and is active in church and social activities. So proud of her for aspiring to her potential!
I think the German philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer, gave a good definition of genius: "Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see." Going by this definition, the people shown in this video are indeed talented however they're not geniuses. Leonardo da Vinci is the archetypal genius. He was a polymath who was, in some areas, several hundred years ahead of his time.

Gabbi is such a great dad. I wish my own father was more like him. If my interests didnt include cars or football he didnt want anything to do with them. Once I hit teenager age and stopped trying to impress him we would go days without speaking. Its so important that parents take interest in what their children are passionate about and give them every resource available within their means to cultivate that passion.
That rain man is incredible. Many people were super impressed with my memory as a young child (I could watch a movie a handful of times and have it not only memorized but recite it word for word)... but my memory is nothing compared to that rain man. He’s fascinating... especially considering his handicaps.
@@beaconlight4720 but I couldn’t memorize my times tables or tell you more than 2 American Vice Presidents to save my life 😂 It’s funny how much information we can absorb (& retain) if interested, but if it’s something that bores me, it’s incredibly hard to remember. I can still probably recite word for word the entire movies “the little mermaid”, “sleeping beauty”, all those Swedish pippi long stocking movies, the huggabunch, numerous golden book movies. And more I’m sure 😂 I remember my father (who was actually WAY smarter than me) was fascinated how I can see pictures and movies in my head. My father was incredibly smart but in a very different way. He had aspergers. He wasn’t able to see pictures in his head at all, therefore he had an extremely hard time recognizing people he doesn’t talk to often. I use to weird my husband out a lot. We’d watch movies and I’d say “hey that’s Robert Mitchum” or whatever. That’s an example I remember. We use to watch John Wayne westerns and I recognized him right away. Even though he was probably 50 years older. My husband was like “no way”…. It’s not him. Sure enough looked it up. I could always remember faces. I remember a lot of things apparently lots of people don’t. I remember as a kid being embarrassed that I remembered nerdy songs and I’d deny remembering so they didn’t think I spent all day focusing on that stuff 😂. But I didn’t have to focus. It’s just some stuff, once it’s in my head, it’s there forever. No effort. But about my father, he was incredibly smart. Smartest person I’ve ever met hands down anyways, but couldn’t see pictures in his head. I remember one time when I was a teenager I literally dyed my hair red. It looked hideous. At first I was nervous what he’d say. But after about a week of him saying nothing it actually annoyed me he didn’t notice. I finally stopped him one morning and said “DAD!!!! LOOK AT ME”…. “Haven’t u noticed ANYTHING different about me”??????….. He was surprised my determination and looked me up and down for awhile. He finally said “I don’t know, did you change your hair or something”?? 😂 Mind you I’ve been very blonde since a baby and he’s raised me alone my whole life 😂 Just so funny he barely even knows what I look like and he was weird weird smart 😂
I just watched Ariel Lanyi's (that kid now grown up) performance from April 2021 of Scriabin's piano sonata and Szymanowski variations, and I must say he has become an amazing pianist, and has a much better memory than anybody else featured in this video of geniuses.

The conspiracist in me wonders if the dad is painting these or has someone else painting these and using her as a gimmick to generate hype, sales etc. The first red flag was her saying she sees heaven and also they never show her painting anything.

The pianist child broke my heart when he was playing late at night and was tired and they didn’t want to let him stop playing. Idk just worries me if he is being taken advantage of by adults because of his musical genius
I don’t see him as a genius, but he is a child prodigy. He is someone who was nurtured from birth and has been learning and practicing long hours, and that has speeded up his timeline and perfected his craft. He will join other virtuosos by dint of cumulative time. However, the key was the exposure in infancy, his father’s drive, and his son’s modeling of that drive. Reminds me of Tiger Woods and his father. Both fathers created their masterpieces.
I love how the boy always asks the bass player "is this professional?". He truly values his partners opinion. As for the dad I know some think he's harsh, and maybe he thinks he means well but he can definitely practice being a bit less harsh, he's just a little kid. And shouldn't force him to perform at night shows. He could practice on complimenting his son that's for sure especially in public. And comfort him when he's being down in himself
Yep, that's the one think I didn't like either. The narrator said you will not find an audience for that type of music at 4pm ... of course you will. You schedule the concert at that time, and if someone is a true fan, he will make time to attend.
This piano kid.. how? He seems made of something whole and intelligent. As if he's already lived. Like an old soul has taken form in his body. How can a child come already programmed with these abilities? There's something to how humans are created that is mind-blowing. It seems something to do with energy and intelligence that is already present, somehow their brains come already wired in a way that would only come as a result of a lifetime of experience. Savants and geniuses tell us that there is so much more to understand about what we are and it's amazing.
I like what you said in your comment but it brought up an old old documentary I watched a while back about the acquired savant which is entirely different they usually acquire some special ability after such a trauma as a struck by lightning in a coma for 15 years a simple fall down and bump their head and wake up and become somebody completely different interesting that we can be wired that way from conception and then be wired that way, by fault...🤔

Ben really makes me feel so happy. I don’t really know why, he just genuinely makes me feel hopeful for my future, young prodigies dont make me feel hopeful for my future even if I am proud and happy for them. Yes, he certainly is. I teared at the thought of his living father passing one day. Leaving him to be cared for by his sibling. There's no love like a parents love. I Pray the world will always be kind and nurturing to him.

Extraordinary, touching, very overwhelming abilities but the young pianist was particularly touching when he checked at the end of his last jaz debut "was it professional" at the tender age of around 10.
Exactly what I just heard and then saw your comment…weird. But as a jazz musician myself, I really really admire him asking that. Because I’ve certainly been very unprofessional in my music career, so…makes me as a 30 year old stop and think..from a 10 year old! Always a good thing.

The way the father didn't comfort Ariel when he was worried about his performance because he was tired touched a nerve. He was going to cry he didn't even want to be on film. He could of at least comforted him in public and critiqued him in private.

I have a patient that exhibits the exact same way-recalls the day of the week you were born, when you’ll retire, what happened on what day/year, really into video games etc. but is also physically disabled. I can’t believe that it’s not more common than I thought it was! What rare gems.
When I read these comments, I'm amazed by how many geniuses there are who can judge a stranger's character from what they see of them for a few minutes in a documentary. Astonishing!
I think when it comes to music, the most important thing is to have fun with it. You can be professional, you can be precise, but really enjoying what you do makes it all worthwhile.
A lot of these were pretty cool and impressive, but man, pushing that kid to stay up late and perform while tired and then telling him he could do better just felt cruel.
If anything they were pushing him to just sleep. He wanted to be professional and stay up. Kid said he could do better, dad agreed because he knew that if he weren't sleep deprived it would be. Dad was letting the kid learn his limits and it was one night.
I agree with Pete. I didn't sense his father pushing him in either direction but leaving it up to him, but he could have been more encouraging than "We'll talk about it (how you did) later."
He didn't want to lie to his child and way it was amazing. His child is too mature to realise when he is being lied to. They clearly have a very strong relationship which is why the dad wanted to tell him the truth, he said they can discuss it later because he didn't want to upset his son infront of all these people. He was being a good father.
It is cruel to say that to a triggered millenial, but mature people want the truth and driven people want to do better. I realize this is alien to most in our culture, it was less alien 50 years ago.
Raise your kids with discipline in an honest environment that promotes intellectualism and creativity and you will have successful children. The reason there are so many critics in the comments section is because they are painfully average and come from painfully average families. The don't understand what it takes to excel at something and truly master a craft.
For some reason time is always such a {◇▪︎☆ or something. Some people are so dang blasted impatient when we take time to practice a skill for something we love doing. I don't get it. In a way I'm jealous of Akiane. Her pictures of children absolutely melt me. One of our fellow TH-camrs made some damning comment about her being schizophrenic. You pry saw that..Akiane is so young yet, God just keep a special eye on her but she definitely has It. Our fellow viewer comes off so bitter, IDK... Subject matter is still kitsch and extremely dull. This is what happens if you keep painting tacky stock photos and never take an actual class on composition, color theory etc and think you're good enough. because she aint it chief.. just hype and fluff, nowhere near a great artist, nowhere near!
I don’t see any comments on him, but honestly I love that guy who memorizes the decks of cards through images, because although I’m definitely not at his skill, him explaining the images he saw and how in his head it correlates to what the cards are made like.. complete sense to me. I mainly use more mnemonic devices, but whenever people ask me how I remember something at school, I always say something where people kinda look at me with confused eyebrows like “huh?? How do those correlate??” And I then have to try and explain haha But kinda growing up being ostracized for that, or looked at weirdly for that, it’s so nice to see someone else’s brain work that way and I don’t feel alone :)
Her studio is full of beautiful art. Millions in prints. Those originals need to be in a vault. Can you imagine owning one of those real paintings and how much I would be worth.
I all honesty. Her studio should be the biggest room in the house, that's an incredibly small room for the girl that's creating the work that feeds that family.
This is why the mind is such a beautiful dimension. Remember, genius is a word that educators use to explain the unexplainable. What most people don't recognize is genius, is based on their destiny. Not the material wealth that the "educated" communities hope for. Communities agenda based mentality, is based on work and is destructive, because it forces education, to a mind that hungers for it. This produces the good and bad mentality, that most teenagers must overcome. The human experience peaks at your teens, the remaining years of your life is based on pursuing your destiny, through your genius as an artist or craftsman

The basics are necessary for that. Critical thinking would not hurt. Lots of people are very good at what they are good at, maybe even "genius", but take them out of their element and they have little or no common sense. Not good.
hopper727rs like when i was in primary school i used to look for more advanced books out of curiosity. I thought the math solutions were a bit dumb, so I'd try to invent better ways. Like calculating cube roots. Calculus, i still have no idea what that's about
i found it interesting that the child pianist clearly cares a lot about his level of professionalism. if thats not the influence from his father, it seems very type-a for a child. dont get me wrong, he was adorable and insanely talented - despite what he thinks, he is already a genius. but i think he is obviously a perfectionist and has a strict work ethic code of sorts. That will no doubt make a lot of things much harder for him. but perhaps thats what some geniuses long for - actual challenges.
My interest is in improv jazz because as a pianist who also plays like 8 other instruments, I didn't know I had perfect pitch until I was 16. I just thought that everyone is like that. then I found that jazz composing and improv jazz were much harder for me, I just couldn't get it. My jazz professor told me something very interesting: it's usually harder to pick up especially for people that have perfect pitch. Can anyone help explain that more?.

It seeks to capture the emotions and challenges of life. It is improvisational, and that means you set the note for the next direction that piece will take. That boy said it all "I don't play fast, I understand the music" That's how I feel about music. I was born with the ability to be good at music(perfect pitch, quick to pick up and learn) and played piano and guitar since I was 5 years old. But dont think that doesn't come without practice. Everyone wants me to play my "fastest" piece but I think the best pieces I play are harmonically beautiful pieces and understanding that relationship.
My hubby iq was tested at age 12. He scored 160.. He got his Ph.D with honors at age 24. I think he is a genius. He is a Nuclear Physicist. Me, I’m just normal!😂

If she is truly channeling direct from source consciousness (ie god) then her style of painting is spot on. Modern art as you described it is not beautiful. Beauty (which is what her paintings are) is an outward/visual expression of our direct connection to god. Modern art does not have this connection to god/higher consciousness and as such does not illicit the high vibrational emotional response that paintings such as these do. Probably why for many of us modern art leaves us cold.

I'm a painter that was considered a prodigy growing up. I can attest that I've moved my hand on paper and canvas with brushes, pencils and chalk more often than I slept.
Beyond amazing, by far the best artist, that i have ever seen. I wonder how, and why, a child is given this gift, i believe no one ever on this planet, has had her ability, really beyond any scientific explanation. Virtually she can produce a painting, as good and detailed as a high quality photo. Brilliant doesn't describe her, she has a level, higher than a genius. I for one, can't believe what i'm seeing, i have no words to descibe her ability, it is just to amazing. Well done .

Very interesting. Our neighbours' daughter Gill has autism, she's in her late 20s. One day when we handed our house letterbox key to her mum (they help us to collect mails when we are away) and told her we'd be back by this particular date, the mum asked us what day would that be, Gill, standing behind her mum within 3 seconds and said the day. My wife immediately took out her phone and checked, Gill was absolutely correct. This was one of the many times and Gill is always correct.

I don't think you can prove pushing. It might look that way because of differences but in that environment it's not that unusual. With someone with a gift, and supportive clever family, it would turn up a lot more often if we didn't make a practice of trying to keep people in "age appropriate" boxes. When any individual, child or adult, is blessed in a such special way with a genius talent or skill, there should be some way that they can pursue those abilities for the good of humanity as a whole.
I have a genius IQ and I have so much trouble with "normal" people I went so fast in school that I just was left to self teach myself advanced math and science, and I have excelled. Graduating from an engineering school with high honors. The good things: I have the job I always wanted. I work with highly resistant bacteria infections. I help track them down, find the source, provide a remedial path. The downside : I struggle though with my personal life. I'm alone. I hate that I have dreams about calculus and math, I can see how physics and math work in the biological world, how infinite realities exist but we are fixed in one trajectory that we call "life". I dunno. I wish more people were accepting that I might see and do things differently bc of how my mind works, but my heart and soul are still human and would like to be accepted and loved. I just don't seem to be able to relate well to people or enjoy the things they do. So, I just function on my job and try to make the world a little better than I found it.

For the chemistry kid, the parent also seems to be a big influence, he is a genius don't get me wrong, but his father stated that this comes inherently, implying he's also a unexploited genius, thus why he does it on their son.

Except for the pianist's parents. He came to his father for approval after the jazz session and the father implied that he had not done his best. The boy was so tired and had a back ache, and had tears in his eyes when he realised he didn't perform at peak level. That boy will probably not grow up to be a happy adult. He was expected to excel since birth, and it shows in the way he talks and thinks.

Same, I could pick up on almost anything I became interested in art being one of the first and martial arts next followed by science and math but the main ones I focus on now are martial arts and mechanics. Loved the Mama’s response regarding her daughter’s childhood, so true. She’s learning, growing, enjoying true nature, loved on by family and developing her spirituality in her own way. It’s an absolute beautiful almost perfect childhood. She seems genuinely happy. Truly happy. Her family also seems to be very supportive, loving and humble. I’m sure they may receive some negative feedback bc theres money being made, but this is not Hollywood. She is not surrounded by filth, ill intentioned ego driven types, she is being cared for and allowed to flourish. Most of us don’t understand what is going on inside her to push her to create the art, seems as if her family has been able to cater to her unbelievable talent as well as keep her grounded in family. I really adore her story. Such a beautiful girl and her art is breathtaking. I kept going back and looking at her pieces. Exquisite. Hope she is still doing well today.

We're conditioned from birth to believe we are ordinary. Videos like this prove we are anything but. The powers that be don't want a self assured society self doubt is the modus operandi and creates a confine of being trapped in mediocrity and a reliance on government.
The piano kid is really great. You can tell he is musical, he understands how to express himself and he cares about phrasing, the emotion he gives trough music more than the technical stuff. It is a stark contrast to the countless "musical genius" kids who are just very technically drilled since they were 3 years old but don't have any musical understanding of what they do.
The pressure on him to perform must be unbearable, but I feel that he will be a successful artist one way or another.

As a young child I was always ahead of my age group in reading and math, because we played games and made it fun. Then in the second year of school the games stopped and out came the books and pens, I then failed the rest of my school life and didn’t even finish high school. Yep. I’m a high school junior and I love chemistry. I study chemistry on my own outside of school so I read about topics we haven’t yet learned about in class but that doesn’t matter because I have to stay constrained to what we are doing in class.

About the first one, the artist.. This has got me feeling kinda guilty. She said once she discovered this "Gift" she never stopped. I too just learned from almost nowhere how to sculpt, all self taught. But the difference is I just randomly stop doing this art, sometimes for months. Thinking about it now I feel this is a waste of a gift on my part. This girl has inspired me to "get it together"! Thank you for that! Also, you work beautiful!

Me and my two younger brothers were gifted each in various fields yet we took a speed reading course at a university and each of us out did the college students. Yet i was the slowest. 2nd oldest was the best. He read the bible 3x during a summer .i test him by reading a random verse and he could tell me book,verse and phrase. He read over 1700 words a min with 85% comprehensive. I read 900 + @ 75%comprehensive yet my abilities were great yet sad with 100 % success. Yet sad. I advice certain military generals. Yet you ever wonder how fbi could arrest 21 terrorist and convict in one year. Lol. No $$$
I play the guitar so beautifully a young man wept and committed suicide. I will never touch the strings again.

No, the base player was completely out of order and doesn't nurture him at all, told him je was being unprofessional for wanting to stop playing, he is a child and was exhausted. Not encouragement at all.
I agree. They obviously know his personality better than an internet audience does. I agree with another comment I read that said he probably wants that challenge. He's not asking how his performance was just to get flattered. He actually wants to constantly improve.
Seeing a little kid play a piano like that really is an incredible experience. Not quite the same level, but I once had a 6th grade student who shocked me at the end of the year by playing Senbonzakura nearly flawlessly (at full speed) at the end of the year. Didn't even know he played. Blew me away.

I heard about Akiane yrs & yrs ago when I bought her 1st book after seeing her on a talk show. I still have it. Her gift left a massive impression on me. Beautiful painter & poet! Respect to the parents for supporting their gifts!
I watched a documentary on her a couple of years ago & her talent & creativity is incredible. Her mastery of colour & texture is exceptional

Yes, but it's a family business & they're employed by her. They all have their own duties. It only showed a little bit about her business, but they handle everything from book keeping, scheduling events, gallery viewings, packaging & shipping, all her travel etc. The list is much longer, but you get the idea. Imo they earn it instead of a lot of parents of famous children in Hollywood who "manage," their child AND their money.

My niece was gifted with a natural musical ability, following in her mother's footsteps. She learned classical guitar very young. But I don't think she wanted to be just like her mom. She did direct the school choir at a very young age, but then branched out to play tennis and was excellent at that. Then she chose to fly planes. She's thinking of becoming a pilot. She has already completed her solo flights, etc. She's talented in so many areas that she finds it hard to choose! All this, and she's only 20. On top of this she has a large group of friends and is active in church and social activities. So proud of her for aspiring to her potential!
I think the German philosopher, Arthur Schopenhauer, gave a good definition of genius:
"Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius hits a target no one else can see."
Going by this definition, the people shown in this video are indeed talented however they're not geniuses.

Gabbi is such a great dad. I wish my own father was more like him. If my interests didnt include cars or football he didnt want anything to do with them. Once I hit teenager age and stopped trying to impress him we would go days without speaking. Its so important that parents take interest in what their children are passionate about and give them every resource available within their means to cultivate that passion.

I remember my father (who was actually WAY smarter than me) was fascinated how I can see pictures and movies in my head.
My father was incredibly smart but in a very different way. He had aspergers.
He wasn’t able to see pictures in his head at all, therefore he had an extremely hard time recognizing people he doesn’t talk to often. I use to weird my husband out a lot. We’d watch movies and I’d say “hey that’s Robert Mitchum” or whatever. That’s an example I remember. We use to watch John Wayne westerns and I recognized him right away. Even though he was probably 50 years older. My husband was like “no way”…. It’s not him. Sure enough looked it up. I could always remember faces.
I remember a lot of things apparently lots of people don’t. I remember as a kid being embarrassed that I remembered nerdy songs and I’d deny remembering so they didn’t think I spent all day focusing on that stuff 😂. But I didn’t have to focus. It’s just some stuff, once it’s in my head, it’s there forever. No effort.
But about my father, he was incredibly smart. Smartest person I’ve ever met hands down anyways, but couldn’t see pictures in his head.
I remember one time when I was a teenager I literally dyed my hair red. It looked hideous. At first I was nervous what he’d say. But after about a week of him saying nothing it actually annoyed me he didn’t notice. I finally stopped him one morning and said “DAD!!!! LOOK AT ME”…. “Haven’t u noticed ANYTHING different about me”??????…..
He was surprised my determination and looked me up and down for awhile. He finally said “I don’t know, did you change your hair or something”?? 😂
Mind you I’ve been very blonde since a baby and he’s raised me alone my whole life 😂

I just watched Ariel Lanyi's (that kid now grown up) performance from April 2021 of Scriabin's piano sonata and Szymanowski variations, and I must say he has become an amazing pianist, and has a much better memory than anybody else featured in this video of geniuses.

The pianist child broke my heart when he was playing late at night and was tired and they didn’t want to let him stop playing. Idk just worries me if he is being taken advantage of by adults because of his musical genius
I don’t see him as a genius, but he is a child prodigy. He is someone who was nurtured from birth and has been learning and practicing long hours, and that has speeded up his timeline and perfected his craft. He will join other virtuosos by dint of cumulative time. However, the key was the exposure in infancy, his father’s drive, and his son’s modeling of that drive. Reminds me of Tiger Woods and his father. Both fathers created their masterpieces.
I love how the boy always asks the bass player "is this professional?". He truly values his partners opinion. As for the dad I know some think he's harsh, and maybe he thinks he means well but he can definitely practice being a bit less harsh, he's just a little kid. And shouldn't force him to perform at night shows. He could practice on complimenting his son that's for sure especially in public. And comfort him when he's being down in himself
Yep, that's the one think I didn't like either. The narrator said you will not find an audience for that type of music at 4pm ... of course you will. You schedule the concert at that time, and if someone is a true fan, he will make time to attend.
This piano kid.. how? He seems made of something whole and intelligent. As if he's already lived. Like an old soul has taken form in his body. How can a child come already programmed with these abilities? There's something to how humans are created that is mind-blowing. It seems something to do with energy and intelligence that is already present, somehow their brains come already wired in a way that would only come as a result of a lifetime of experience. Savants and geniuses tell us that there is so much more to understand about what we are and it's amazing.

Exactly what I just heard and then saw your comment…weird. But as a jazz musician myself, I really really admire him asking that. Because I’ve certainly been very unprofessional in my music career, so…makes me as a 30 year old stop and think..from a 10 year old! Always a good thing.

I have a patient that exhibits the exact same way-recalls the day of the week you were born, when you’ll retire, what happened on what day/year, really into video games etc. but is also physically disabled. I can’t believe that it’s not more common than I thought it was! What rare gems.

When I read these comments, I'm amazed by how many geniuses there are who can judge a stranger's character from what they see of them for a few minutes in a documentary. Astonishing!
I think when it comes to music, the most important thing is to have fun with it. You can be professional, you can be precise, but really enjoying what you do makes it all worthwhile.
A lot of these were pretty cool and impressive, but man, pushing that kid to stay up late and perform while tired and then telling him he could do better just felt cruel.
If anything they were pushing him to just sleep. He wanted to be professional and stay up. Kid said he could do better, dad agreed because he knew that if he weren't sleep deprived it would be. Dad was letting the kid learn his limits and it was one night.
I agree with Pete. I didn't sense his father pushing him in either direction but leaving it up to him, but he could have been more encouraging than "We'll talk about it (how you did) later."
He didn't want to lie to his child and way it was amazing. His child is too mature to realise when he is being lied to. They clearly have a very strong relationship which is why the dad wanted to tell him the truth, he said they can discuss it later because he didn't want to upset his son infront of all these people. He was being a good father.

I don’t see any comments on him, but honestly I love that guy who memorizes the decks of cards through images, because although I’m definitely not at his skill, him explaining the images he saw and how in his head it correlates to what the cards are made like.. complete sense to me. I mainly use more mnemonic devices, but whenever people ask me how I remember something at school, I always say something where people kinda look at me with confused eyebrows like “huh?? How do those correlate??” And I then have to try and explain haha
But kinda growing up being ostracized for that, or looked at weirdly for that, it’s so nice to see someone else’s brain work that way and I don’t feel alone :)

This is why the mind is such a beautiful dimension. Remember, genius is a word that educators use to explain the unexplainable. What most people don't recognize is genius, is based on their destiny. Not the material wealth that the "educated" communities hope for. Communities agenda based mentality, is based on work and is destructive, because it forces education, to a mind that hungers for it. This produces the good and bad mentality, that most teenagers must overcome. The human experience peaks at your teens, the remaining years of your life is based on pursuing your destiny, through your genius as an artist or craftsman

i found it interesting that the child pianist clearly cares a lot about his level of professionalism. if thats not the influence from his father, it seems very type-a for a child. dont get me wrong, he was adorable and insanely talented - despite what he thinks, he is already a genius. but i think he is obviously a perfectionist and has a strict work ethic code of sorts. That will no doubt make a lot of things much harder for him. but perhaps thats what some geniuses long for - actual challenges.

My interest is in improv jazz because as a pianist who also plays like 8 other instruments, I didn't know I had perfect pitch until I was 16. I just thought that everyone is like that. then I found that jazz composing and improv jazz were much harder for me, I just couldn't get it. My jazz professor told me something very interesting: it's usually harder to pick up especially for people that have perfect pitch.
Can anyone help explain that more?.
Jenna: I am an amateur of music. I've not had your training or experience.. I'm a true lover & fan of music. You need to grasp what Jazz represents as an expression. It is not classical. It seeks to capture the emotions and challenges of life. It is improvisational, and that means you set the note for the next direction that piece will take. You must access your emotion - you cannot use logic for Jazz.

That boy said it all "I don't play fast, I understand the music" That's how I feel about music. I was born with the ability to be good at music(perfect pitch, quick to pick up and learn) and played piano and guitar since I was 5 years old. But dont think that doesn't come without practice. Everyone wants me to play my "fastest" piece but I think the best pieces I play are harmonically beautiful pieces and understanding that relationship.

If she is truly channeling direct from source consciousness (ie god) then her style of painting is spot on. Modern art as you described it is not beautiful. Beauty (which is what her paintings are) is an outward/visual expression of our direct connection to god. Modern art does not have this connection to god/higher consciousness and as such does not illicit the high vibrational emotional response that paintings such as these do. Probably why for many of us modern art leaves us cold.

Telling a 10 year old that late at night it's "unprofessional" to admit that he's too tired to give his best performance is just abusive IMO. I'm a painter that was considered a prodigy growing up. I can attest that I've moved my hand on paper and canvas with brushes, pencils and chalk more often than I slept.

Beyond amazing, by far the best artist, that i have ever seen. I wonder how, and why, a child is given this gift, i believe no one ever on this planet, has had her ability, really beyond any scientific explanation. Virtually she can produce a painting, as good and detailed as a high quality photo. Brilliant doesn't describe her, she has a level, higher than a genius. I for one, can't believe what i'm seeing, i have no words to descibe her ability, it is just to amazing. Well done .

Our neighbours' daughter Gill has autism, she's in her late 20s.
One day when we handed our house letterbox key to her mum (they help us to collect mails when we are away) and told her we'd be back by this particular date, the mum asked us what day would that be, Gill, standing behind her mum within 3 seconds and said the day. My wife immediately took out her phone and checked, Gill was absolutely correct. This was one of the many times and Gill is always correct.

I find the child that studies chemistry has a father who pushes his choice. I understand if he is smarter than his class, I had issues with my own children because of this but I never pushed them into doing following a career. I did however push them to learn French and Portuguese LOL

I don't think you can prove pushing. It might look that way because of differences but in that environment it's not that unusual. With someone with a gift, and supportive clever family, it would turn up a lot more often if we didn't make a practice of trying to keep people in "age appropriate" boxes.
For example where I live there would be no place in higher education for a younger child. They are stifled

When any individual, child or adult, is blessed in a such special way with a genius talent or skill, there should be some way that they can pursue those abilities for the good of humanity as a whole.
I have a genius IQ and I have so much trouble with "normal" people I went so fast in school that I just was left to self teach myself advanced math and science, and I have excelled. Graduating from an engineering school with high honors.
The good things: I have the job I always wanted. I work with highly resistant bacteria infections. I help track them down, find the source, provide a remedial path. The downside : I struggle though with my personal life. I'm alone. I hate that I have dreams about calculus and math, I can see how physics and math work in the biological world, how infinite realities exist but we are fixed in one trajectory that we call "life". I dunno. I wish more people were accepting that I might see and do things differently bc of how my mind works, but my heart and soul are still human and would like to be accepted and loved. I just don't seem to be able to relate well to people or enjoy the things they do. So, I just function on my job and try to make the world a little better than I found it.
