Hey brother honestly I own a 01 damn near same i start mine in the negatives with out it being plugged in it was dead dormant for weeks so block was solidly frozen pluged batterys in and it started in 3 cranks 7.3s are gods no need to play it out like its a test for the truck mine also has 267k on just in case
Use some archoil every oil change and she’ll start so much faster and no smoke.. and your injectors will thank you later.. just fired mine right up yesterday at 3 degrees.
I've been using hot shot stiction eliminator in the oil and everyday diesel in the fuel, mine started in -1 temps this morning no issues. I've always wanted to try Archoil but the cost has been a bit hard to swallow haha
Oh crap y'all had deal with the winter freeze too where ever your at in Texas. It was pretty bad where I'm at in Texas as well. This truck sound super cool
Ahh I wear shorts until we hit below zero. OK I always wear shorts. My 7.3 has never not started from zero on up. Getting the doors open is another story! Nice truck brother!
Off question: I just got a 2000 7.3. It’s running fine and all but when I crank it the the oil light stays illuminated a couple seconds afterwards. Is that normal? I’m new, sorry…
@@powerstrokecentral awesome I'm from.a small town called Hereford 45 miles west of Amarillo up in the Panhandle but I currently live in Vernon I was thinking if you want to maybe one day you can come to Vernon and we can hang out

Here in Toronto we've been through a mad cold spell. Overnight lows around -15F every night for like 3 weeks & got about 3 feet of snow in the meantime. And guess what, our trucks are made for this s*it #gowinter
New 6.7... won't start in the cold. Dead batteries that won't charge. Dead starter dealer replaced it. They're too stupid to replace the batteries which are ruining the starter solenoid. Not enough juice in the weak factory batteries to warm the glow plugs in cold weather. All under warranty but will have to start fixing things out of pocket it I don't want to get stranded more.
Thats but a dusting where we come from. I got a chuckle out of your video. Nice 7.3. Check out my -15F cold start from last year th-cam.com/video/nvHQH68n4N0/w-d-xo.html
There’s a company in Alaska I was told a few weeks ago. But it gets pretty cold in Alaska. Due to this, this company first ever really shut there truck engines off. So they buy whatever 7.3 engines they can find, rebuild them so they can run them in their trucks. Point is apparently they are good trucks. Especially for running for such a long time in the cold!
“So much snow it’s on the tires!” Canada, Hold my beer lol
😂😂
Like I’m still driving with my summer tires in that snow
I’m in Canada fall is colder than your guys winter
Please don’t rev truck when it’s warming up it’s painful to watch
I rev the piss out of mine I’m rebuilding my motor anyways
There's nothing dangerous about starting the engine when it's cold that's what they're designed to do
Driving on the other hand...
Hell yea I’m Houston got down to 14 down here and mine started up as well 7 tree I ain’t changing it for nothing bro!
Darn right brotha! 7tree gang!
I'm used to it up here in Massachusetts but i still hate the cold! In 2015 we had 108 inches, It was awlful, never thought it would melt!
Holy crap did you literally couldn’t breathe without the snow!
Also from mass always gotta leave the diesels plugged in
All these guys like my goodness snow 15 degrees😱😱😱😂😂😂

7.3 and 5.9 should never have a problem cold starting
my '01 started right up in -1 degree cold this morning in New England.
dang bro thats impressive i want to test my truck in those temps
Oh crap y'all had deal with the winter freeze too where ever your at in Texas. It was pretty bad where I'm at in Texas as well. This truck sound super cool
I live in N ga and it was in the 20s overnight lows so I always plug mine in!

Welcome to Ohio weather, now you know how it feels.
Hahah can’t wait to say welcome to Texas when it’s 100 degrees there lol. Just joking. 😂

Ahh I wear shorts until we hit below zero. OK I always wear shorts. My 7.3 has never not started from zero on up. Getting the doors open is another story! Nice truck brother!
Do you still have a fuel bowel, air intake heater, and EVBP valve?
This honestly could’ve been 1 minute long. Never have I heard someone talk so much h about snow and a cold start
That’s why they make the 10 second skip button
Up here thats warm
Hahah I bet lol.
why do you cut jump so much?
Whats that whining sound when its idling, mine does the same thing and I cant figure it out. Its a faint sound but it bothers me…
Off question: I just got a 2000 7.3. It’s running fine and all but when I crank it the the oil light stays illuminated a couple seconds afterwards. Is that normal? I’m new, sorry…
Yeah that’s normal just as long as it doesn’t stay on
@@powerstrokecentral thanks for the quick response. I know nothing about them so everything worries me right now.

It takes a second for it to build oil pressure
good old powerstrokes

that weather is nothing for these trucks

Yessir San Antonio
Oh shit me too man but rn I’m stationed in Germany. Ooof I miss my 7.3, I can’t drive it over here so it’s back in SA.
Such a normal amount of snow for michigan
I bet lol
That’s not a lot of snow ❄️

So. What is the solution?? I saw how much snow you have.
Yeah you got snow but at the cost of the power XD i lost mine
Shoot just realized what this comment was saying lol. Yeah man my powers been out for days.
What type engine oil do you use
Sae 15w 40 Walmart brand.

you have never seen real snow lol
Look at how much snow he says lmao
How you said it takes 2 mins to plug it in maybe 2 mins to plug into the wall but like 45 mins-1 hour to actually have it so anything
I live in Minnesota and I'm a Trucker 14 above is nothing when it's below zero then your talking cold
Yeah gotta plug in the block heater in that weather
2:40
Thanks brotha 🤙🏻
Damn son that pretty damn impressive that it actually started no block heater plug 🔌 in 🤷
7.3, start at 15 below no block heater... if you put fuel additives to keep it from turning to gel....
@@Erbbrothers
Well I gonna do that to but the block heater would definitely help I mean it no there for a reason
This guy talking about 5" like it's big snow. That's a light dusting in Wyoming. Move somewhere that gets 4 feet overnight.
come to canada -40
Why so much editing? Can you not finish a sentence?
because people have the attention span of a fly.
Midwesterners are shaking there heads. 9 degrees is easy. Try -30
