I think a huge reason why they went bankrupt is that they were investing in the wrong places. Sure, the outsourcing costs make it cheaper, but if you have to essentially redo all the drawings they did (as an artist, those drawings had major differences), then of course precious time is being wasted, and time is money. But I truly admire their hard work.
There is going to be a new game from the same team as CING (director and people who were on that team) and it's called Chase: Cold Investigations! It comes out the 13/10 and the artstyle is the same (the protagonist is like the reincarnation of Kyle Hyde I swear xD)
The thing that gets me about the DS games is how there are entire worlds hidden inside those tiny, postage stamp cartridges and how games like Hotel Dusk draw you into them.
After watching this video, Taisuke Kanasaki is now one of my favourite gaming personnel. Too bad he doesn't have a social media account, blog, or web portfolio, as far as I know. As an artist myself, I would love to see what he's up to lately. Last I heard he worked on a mobile game called Samurai Souls. 6:03 - I wonder who was the foreign artist that inspired him rotoscoping? I want that person's name!

I absolutely love rotoscoping, I wish it was used more often in media. If you guys want another rotoscoped game, play The Last Express. This video made me wistful because Cing no longer exists. 1:40 looks like actress Oksana Akinshina.

I see where the main character's distinct goatee comes from :) Seemed rather out of place for me, seeing how the game takes place in the late 70s and that facial hair syle was very uncommon back then
