Ah... listening to the Last Window soundtrack (and the Hotel Dusk soundtrack) always takes me back to my Freshmen year of high school, especially the late fall/early winter season. Walking home from school while listening to the soundtrack and having the cool breeze blow in my face. Bundling up in my bed and playing the games after a chilly walk home from school. That hotel I sneaked off to during a school field trip to pretend I was in Hotel Dusk... lmao sorry I reminisced a bit too much!
Haha that sounds like some good times! I too enjoyed this game very much in the winter. If you like mystery games, I recommend Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. It's not like Hotel Dusk at all, so if you're going to try it don't go with the mindset of a game similar to Hotel Dusk. It is however my favorite game series of all time :).

Wish more people knew about this game and Hotel Dusk. I was only a kid when it came out and it's still stuck with me. The Soundtrack is so gorgeous and I loved all the characters and storylines!

@@Leltendo Im talking about the chapter where you meet her (after finding her ring and resolving the problem with Tony). After this, Rex Foster will come to spy Marie, and at the same time, he warns Kyle about her. Then, Kyle will interrogate Marie and she (after some pression) will tell about her past with her brother and her husband, Peter. It's pretty and emotive moment, especially how Marie states at the end that she is a strong person, and she can handle it despite the problems she's facing now. (At least that was she says in the Spanish version). This will make Kyle remember her mother, Janie, who said the same words to him after he left his home to become an detective (this is obvious kinda hard to Janie due to the tragic loss of her husband, and now she will have to be apart from her son) Also this is the first time where this soundtrack sounds 💖💖💖 I love this game so much ;_; thanks for asking meee about this aaaa🌟🌟

I remember the first time I played Hotel Dusk, back in 2017. I went to Ecuador in a winter vacation trip, just in the midst of the year. Then I discovered Last Window in late 2019 and early 2020, again in a vacation trip there. I remember listening to Hidden Proof more than 100 times haha. I was a freshman at the Technical Institute and searching for a job, dressing exactly like Hyde did. Good thing I found a job in March 2020, just as the world went nuts.
Just started this game today. I've just done the first chapter but I really like his style and the music for what I've heard. It's a shame the DS has so many overlooked VN
Interesting fact: The OST was compressed for the Nintendo DS. There exists versions of all of the music which are far more clear. I really enjoy the DS soundfont, however part of me really wants to hear the original music. You can hear examples of this in the behind the scenes video of this game floating around on youtube.

@@renew.4517Maybe not a 3rd game but the possibility of a remake of Hotel Dusk and Last Window is definitely there. Nintendo has remade niche visual novel adventure games in the last few years. Famicom Detective Club and Another Code Recollection are examples of that. Someone within Nintendo is clearly pushing for these types of games to be remade. Not to mention Another Code Recollection even references Kyle Hyde. Now does this mean anything? Probably not but it wouldn't surprise me if Kyle Hyde makes a return in a remake.
I got a feeling if the game had a third installment, we'll get a video or maybe more art cutscenes of Kyles's background because of Charles. In this game, we were able to read some of Kyle's history, and those books were written by Martin Summer, the "author" from the previous game. I don't know why but sometimes it's nice to think of the what-ifs of this game series.

Man, I used to not be a fan of the direction the second game went on in term of OST but the more I listen to the more I love it. Especially 40:04 (misty time iirc). I love to play it after having a tough day and just take in the peace.

@@VictorHugo-by3gs I suppose, but it would still feel pretty awkward on anything but a DS or 3DS and some puzzles would have to be completely altered/removed because of it. Plus, Cing is dead. While Nintendo still owns the IP, I don't see them doing anything with Hotel Dusk/Last Window (especially considering LW is one of the projects that bankrupted Cing). Although who knows. Kyle Hyde was a spirit in Smash Ultimate with his Last Window design, so I suppose anything is possible.

@@Leltendo Im talking about the chapter where you meet her (after finding her ring and resolving the problem with Tony). After this, Rex Foster will come to spy Marie, and at the same time, he warns Kyle about her. Then, Kyle will interrogate Marie and she (after some pression) will tell about her past with her brother and her husband, Peter. It's pretty and emotive moment, especially how Marie states at the end that she is a strong person, and she can handle it despite the problems she's facing now. (At least that was she says in the Spanish version). This will make Kyle remember her mother, Janie, who said the same words to him after he left his home to become an detective (this is obvious kinda hard to Janie due to the tragic loss of her husband, and now she will have to be apart from her son)
Also this is the first time where this soundtrack sounds 💖💖💖

I remember the first time I played Hotel Dusk, back in 2017. I went to Ecuador in a winter vacation trip, just in the midst of the year. Then I discovered Last Window in late 2019 and early 2020, again in a vacation trip there. I remember listening to Hidden Proof more than 100 times haha. I was a freshman at the Technical Institute and searching for a job, dressing exactly like Hyde did. Good thing I found a job in March 2020, just as the world went nuts.
Just started this game today. I've just done the first chapter but I really like his style and the music for what I've heard. It's a shame the DS has so many overlooked VN

Sometimes it's hard for a sequel to be better than it's predecessor however Last Window is not the exception.
Interesting fact: The OST was compressed for the Nintendo DS. There exists versions of all of the music which are far more clear. I really enjoy the DS soundfont, however part of me really wants to hear the original music. You can hear examples of this in the behind the scenes video of this game floating around on youtube.

@@renew.4517Maybe not a 3rd game but the possibility of a remake of Hotel Dusk and Last Window is definitely there.
Nintendo has remade niche visual novel adventure games in the last few years. Famicom Detective Club and Another Code Recollection are examples of that. Someone within Nintendo is clearly pushing for these types of games to be remade.
Not to mention Another Code Recollection even references Kyle Hyde. Now does this mean anything? Probably not but it wouldn't surprise me if Kyle Hyde makes a return in a remake.
I got a feeling if the game had a third installment, we'll get a video or maybe more art cutscenes of Kyles's background because of Charles. In this game, we were able to read some of Kyle's history, and those books were written by Martin Summer, the "author" from the previous game. I don't know why but sometimes it's nice to think of the what-ifs of this game series.

Man, I used to not be a fan of the direction the second game went on in term of OST but the more I listen to the more I love it. Especially 40:04 (misty time iirc). I love to play it after having a tough day and just take in the peace.

@@VictorHugo-by3gs I suppose, but it would still feel pretty awkward on anything but a DS or 3DS and some puzzles would have to be completely altered/removed because of it. Plus, Cing is dead. While Nintendo still owns the IP, I don't see them doing anything with Hotel Dusk/Last Window (especially considering LW is one of the projects that bankrupted Cing). Although who knows. Kyle Hyde was a spirit in Smash Ultimate with his Last Window design, so I suppose anything is possible.
