    Pego is just 12 min drive to the beach and 1 hour to Valencia. 20K sounds like a great deal location-wise.

    As said in part one to this video, that was my first time discovering your video and I was pretty intrigued to find a New Yorker buying property here in Europe. I was born in the UK where house prices are horrendously expensive in London. I grew up in Jamaica in the Caribbean and worked on 8 Cruise-ships in FL and NY as a photographer, then worked on a few US military bases before returning back to the UK. The UK was too expensive to buy and I wanted some land-room because I wanted to keep some cars on my land. After loosing out on buying a nice place with 3 acres and a 300Sqm barn in Portugal, I turned to Bulgaria where there are a LOT of really cheap properties there too. Only problem is , I am not too happy about the amount of snow that normally falls in Bulgaria during winter and even recently, so I am now starting to rethink my plans and want to know if I could store some old cars in a barn without having to officially import them and pay taxes on cars that wont be driving on Spanish roads. Would love to find about an acre to 3 acres of level land that is not very remote and with sea- view if possible. Any tips or leads ?

      Best tip I can give is to visit and spend time in each location and buy what feels right

    Great video as always! I have a few questions if you don’t mind answering. Did you relocate to Spain permanently? Do you have citizenship or permanent residence? Is it possible to do this without relocating to Spain? For example to purchase a property as a vacation home? Is there a catch with taxes or something similar? Thanks!

    • @Karl__Pierre
      @Karl__Pierre  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I have not...plan is by 2026 or 2027. I will be most likely entering with a retirement visa, you can buy without relocating and simply have a summer house, no catch property taxes are low as well. That's why I'm looking because you can get a decent house for under 50k 12 minutes to the beach and 50 minutes to the airport. Hard to beat.

      @@Karl__Pierre I talked to my friend who is Spanish and he said there are a lot squatters in Spain and to be careful. It is a really big problem apparently. What are your thoughts on that situation? Especially since the property might be vacant for prolonged times.

    • @Karl__Pierre
      @Karl__Pierre  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @belzvon there are some people in the world who can only see the negatives or are afraid of everything. My retort would be what percentage of properties get taken over by squatters? Then I would compare that data to the squatting rates per captia in the USA. Then i would ask the same friend does he/she know anyone personally who they have a phone number for and get a percentage based on their anecdotal observations vs the number of people they know in Spain that haven't had squatter issues. With this real data, you could assess your personal risk. Additionally, you could have a neighbor keep an eye out on your property for the low price of 50 euros a month. Do a light cleaning and keep your house fresh. You can install wifi surveillance or you can show up ready to break knees. All will mitigate squatters. Personally I'm not concerned...if someone squats in my properties, that means their life is in pretty bad shape compared to me who has properties I can afford to leave vacant for my leisure.

    • @belzvon

      @@Karl__Pierre I don’t think he is a negative person in general. Somewhat a global citizen himself. He lived in a few different countries the past few years. He just wanted me to be aware since it is a hot topic in the media etc in Spain. And after a quick google search I can see that it is certainly true. Although I don’t know the statistics to compare I just wanted to hear your opinion on the issue. Paying the neighbor seems to be a great simple idea that did not even cross my mind haha. Anyways thank you for bringing all the new places and looking forward to more awesome content!

    • @Karl__Pierre
      @Karl__Pierre  ปีที่แล้ว

      @belzvon no worries. I just hear these sort of things and immediately think about all the people who insert their opinion as fact and discourage others from trying. Think about it...how cool of a story would it be to be one of the few with a squatter experience? This is what life is about taking chances and living with no questions left unanswered. Keep in touch regarding your progress and I will continue to navigate through this global living thing!
