No black and white test? With no RGB split, can capture 3x the amount of light in black and white than a standard sensor would have been nice to see

Great review, i was tempted to get the P9 until I saw this video, as I do like my photography, and what a good mobile camera for when i don't have my DSLR with me, does the G5 have the ability to shoot Raw? or is it just JPG?

Plz do some low light comparisons with street lights? would be great to see how it does in mixed lighting environments, we'd also be able to judge lens flare and chromatic aberrations as well.

i wanted to buy g5 but due to screen retention problems. i think i'll pass. pro mode is where the p9 will shine. can battle g5 head on in pro mode. as a phone i have seen that the g5 throttle during some high end games and the p9 is doing great handling games
I had G5 and returned it .... screen problems with stuck pixels and overheating ... to bad coz its a good phone on specs ... now ill get a P9 .. 360 $ for it ... at this price doesnt have competitors

Does the Hauwei P9 have a front flash like the LG G5 does ? I currently own a G5 as my daily driver but I thought the comparison between these two were very good and fair. :) Actually disappointing how far behind Hauwei is with their camera in my view. :)

The g5 is so cheap today... I order a new one from ebay for 250$. Snap 820, 4gb ram (140000 antutu), awersomes cameras, usb C, quad hd screen..... This is amazing.
I bought a couple of used G5's recently in the $140 range. What a great device for the price! Best phones I ever owned.

I would have gotten the lg g5 but sadly i live in Mexico and here the lg g5 isnt available is the lg g5se that is less powerful and that turned me off...P9 better everything except for the camera against the lg g5se

The G5 certainly has the better camera. Was Leica even sure when they approved their name to be showcased on the back of the P9? Because it certainly isn't doing them any favors. It may take better photos when the PRO mode is utilized, but many consumers prefer to shoot most of the time in auto. Which is where the competition is really good at.
That titanium and dark wood skin on the G5 though. Makes it look completely different.

g5 is king!
The post-sharpening on the G5 is so artificially strong it hurts my eyes. Why does no one notice that? Huawei photos can be brought to that level just by adding a sharpening filter to the original image.
The video on P9 is bad though.

Michele Avati Seriously? Then it's perfectly fine if I say Huawei Honor 7 and Huawei P9 has same camera n hardware woooooo there's no need of a review for their cameras woooooo. Same hardware anyways(despite the differences in sensors types,processing etc)
That doesn't make any sense at all the Honor 7 is different from the P9.
Michele does have a point since the Honor 8 is basically a Huawei P9 with a different glass build, a Kirin 950 instead of a 955, and rebranded as the Honor 8 for cheaper. There's very little difference between those two, though for the camera software the Honor 8 does produce more saturation and punchy colors instead of the more natural looks of the P9 images.

Both have different impelementation of dual camera, but i G5 win the overall shots and videos. I think Huawei need to improve more. Btw love the scenery tho
