Kouba also makes tricams with a steelwire. this gives it an additional camming action

I love trycams and I'm up to the green one on my rack. Also I think it's pretty rad that the Orange and yellow will stack creating a larger piece. Maybe you did in previous video but did not cover over and undercam with how far the T can lean. Love the videos, keep up the great work and maybe have a advance trycam video with the large pieces. I haven't seen any videos with those yet.

Nice... Yeah, I don't own any of the bigger ones but may see if I can borrow someone's. Those things are huge!!

@@summitseekersexperience My biggest green is around the blue in DMM Cam. Colors run close enough to black diamond and think it's possible that the next sizes will take you up through the sizes and end on the stack as big green. ?

Interesting that you placed each of these tricams with the nose/point facing downward in horizontal cracks. Do you have a rationale for that?
FWIW, I've always placed them with the nose facing up in horizontal cracks. Seems like this way would help their lateral stability.

In my experience gravity has helped in the config with the nose down but at the end of the day, I always look for the best way the tricam fits in the crack. So if there is a nice dimple or rivet in the roof, I'll definitely place with the nose up. FWIW, the illustration on the tricam shows the cam placement with nose down in the example.

Yep, i saw it after I made the video... in my mind that one was always sketch but I've used it a few times and tested it while on top rope.

@@summitseekersexperience I've whipped on one in a vertical placement that was only deep enough for it. If it moved at all it would've fallen out. Not only did it hold, it didn't come out until a week or two later!

1 kN will never take a lead fall. The smallest tricam is rated to 3 kN in active position. You can find other brands of tricams. Perhaps a little googling before making the instructional video would be a good thing?
