    Hi, I have an atomstack s20 max.
    The power of the laser is 18-20w.
    They cannot cut plexiglass (acryl) 3 mm at all.
    Is the problem that the laser power is low, or did I not set good parameters for cutting? I use the lightburn program

      Hi- there's a couple of factors- Black cast acrylic cuts the best- white and defiantly clear do not cut with any amount of power. Slower speeds and medium to higher power settings tend to work best.

    Hi there how thick is the acrylic you used in this video? I have melted mine 🙂

      Hi- I used 1/8" (3mm) acrylic. I ran a materials test chart to find the best settings for my setup. Thanks for watching and best wishes.

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes- the A20 Pro can etch 2mm into black acrylic- it can also cut through 1/8 inch (3 mm) black acrylic with ease!

      You are welcome. Under the acrylic is black poster board- it is a very black thin carboard.

    Hi, I'm new with this laser engraver. Is it possible to cut the clear acrylic with this Atomstack A20 Pro?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! No, it's not possible to cut clear acrylic any laser diode machine; it does not matter the brand or power output. The laser diodes operate in a range that does not affect clear acrylic for cutting. To cut clear acrylic I recommend a Co2 laser- cuts clean through. Thanks for watching!

    Hello! I am trying to cut acrylic but having a hard time finding my bearing and have been burning the acrylic. I have an atom stack x7 pro

      Acrylic can be tricky. What type and color do you want to cut?

      It’s clear and I have a black bottom for contrast

      @@ursulich Clear acrylic is not able to be cut by a laser diode. To cut clear acrylic a Co2 laser is needed. Here's video with an entry level Co2 laser: th-cam.com/video/VnnLOgdzvQ8/w-d-xo.html

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi- no, I don't show the laser machines using GRBL. I use LIghtburn on all my machines.

      @@thelaserchannel1 is cast or extruded acrylic

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tcollins6969 It is cast acrylic from a quality and reliable source- Houston Acrylics. I'm not affiliated with but I order all my acrylics from them. Extruded acrylics will crack, bubble, or burst- it just doesn't work.

    Hi... can i use WD40?

    • @thelaserchannel1
      @thelaserchannel1  ปีที่แล้ว

      Wd40- I'm thinking you mean for cleaning correct? I haven't tried WD40 for cleaning- my hesitation to use it on acrylic is maybe it would fog or crack the acrylic over time.
