Great video 👏, thank you, finally one normal person who showed all the problems in lifting and not like the other guys who brag about lifting and at the same time show only how they mounted the pads. Thanks again for the great video !!! 👍👍👍
Great video. It's all about the details. Your presentation is well thought out. You did a 4-6L80-E upgrade. I would. and I bet others would too, like to know about that. Like how you got around the electronics? Throttle position, speed sensors etc.
@@sheltonsautomasters279 appreciate it! 4l80e is a good trans upgrade, I used the stand alone harness and TCM (transmission computer) from black dog customs, it just plugs right into the trans and gets powered from one of your 12v batteries. Throttle position and speed sensor I forgot about but I think the black dog customs kit had all that covered.
Thanks! it's definitely something the home mechanic can handle. Also check the description for updates and tips on the lift as I've been getting more input on what to do better.
Nice job putting together this video. Definitely more things to think about than just adding the lift. I am getting ready to do a 2" on mine in a couple weeks and I knew about the tank but not all the other item.
Yes please 4L80 swap. I don’t have enough courage to diy it yet because no one that I know made a video of it for noobs like myself to rely on. Thank you in advance and enjoy that beast of yours.
Great video, very thorough... I am planning to do a 2" lift, for 2" would I have to do vent line & tank fill modifications? Or strap alone for the fuel tank would suffice.
Thanks! I actually bought it from someone who already got it street legal, but if your state is not giving you a plate you can always go with dirtlegal.com and they will get you a plate.
I plan to install a 2" body lift on my A1097A2 next month and I hope I don't run into anything major. A lot of guys total drop their fuel tank and weld in pieces to lengthen the strap but I like your idea of using longer bolts. Did you have to change your shifting rods below your shifter? THANKS FOR THE VIDEO!
2" will be even more easy, you'll have less little issues than I had, fuel filler hose might not have to be changed. Add some blocks that are just the right thickness on top of the fuel tank so when you tighten up your new long bolts you can snug it all up, otherwise there is chance you could hit a bump and dislodge the tank. From what I remember I was able to adjust the shift linkage to the point it all worked.

Lol yep there was nothing on youtube in detail, I've learned so much on here it's about time I contributed to TH-cam!
Awesome video! Best I’ve seen that really documents the need for tank strapping. Very thorough. Cheers!

Great video. A lot easier than I thought! I can finally get this done. Thank you! 👍🏽👊🏽

Thanks for the reply and for the detailed video! It was excellent!
Looks badass. I heard you can use the 3 inch daystar body lift kit from a 73-87 Chevrolet 1500/2500. Ill slowly get to mine.
21:38 A buddy helped me and forgot about that, Mine ripped in half. I'm just going to JB Weld it and redrill like you did.
Great video brother
it's hard to believe this many cutting and adjustments need to be done before you can lift the hmmwv
I would love to see videos on you AC setup and the 4L80 swap!!!
Will do! Hopefully in the next month or so I can film videos of how I did them, definitely not enough info on youtube, especially the 4l80e swap!

Im not sure, You'll need to just go slow and see how it all looks.
Hey great video would you kind to tell me how did you do a legal street plate over your humvee? Thanks and keep doing great videos

@@TheCoralSniper Ben, How in the world did you sneak the upper bolt on the fuel tank?
@@LuigiLeone-tw8hb I believe I installed that bolt from the bottom and tightened the nut from the top
This is awesome! Thank you, and I'm subbed!
Great job!
Great video!
Great info thanks!!!
Does the lift make the rocking associated with braking worse?
@@Chawaonga not at all in my experience
used it on my friends Humvve
How much did you buy the Humvee for?
