I haven't been following _all_ her music videos, but I'm starting to notice that some of these are connecting. Is the Five Seconds Flat like a culmination of that?
The shot of the hands at 0:31 is so beautiful. Maybe my personal experience is coming in here, but it perfectly elicits the feeling of “I am happy with this person. I can just exist with this person.” That feeling to me is love. It’s so simple. But it’s so poignant and deep. The hands and the sun and the placement and the angle and everything together creates such a stunning image. I really feel what they were in that moment. It’s a simple, relieved, and content kind of love. Beautiful.
Never heard Lizzy before, just saw FINNEAS was featured in a new song so of course I had to check it out cause everything he does is amazing…and I was not disappointed!! She has a beautiful voice and they sound great together!!
It's so clear how much hard work, love and passion went into this project and I'm so glad you're getting the recognition you deserve. You my dear are an original and the only way is up from here. I can't wait to follow your journey.
I first heard this song in a video of that concert she did with finneas, and I’ve waited a while for it to come out. It was worth it. I love it so much lizzy, thank you for your hard work on the whole album x
1:23 really wish her voice wasn't drowned out/muted during the "do i love him do i need him" bc her voice during that part is ridiculously beautiful... love the acoustic version bc of this
Omg imagine they gave it a little overdrive and muffle, it would be gorgeous. I’m sure someone would have the same thought as me and remix it this way plsss 😭
Five Seconds Flat has been stimming music for me since it dropped, I can't tell you how many times I've played the album already. Such a masterpiece, I see the story so clearly just listening alone.
It's a lovely song. Love how it all comes together. How the music supports the lyrics and the voice, instead of overpowering it, but also holds its own. The entire song feels very honest. Finneas, every time I see your name next to an artist, it's always someone unique. Someone with a voice. It's very nice. Hate to be lame guys, but I really like this song.
I love these collabs with Gus Black. The MVs are sick and compliment the depth of song while also being its own painting. Lizzy your artistry is amazing. The songs, the videos, the vibes, the feels...I feel so many emotions when I listen to your music. I think I appreciate most that it feels real. Even in the pain of remembering/relating it feels soothing. To hold a space where opposite emotions can hold hands and dance, its seems more rare than it should be. Thank you for sharing your art.
Her voice is just so peaceful and wholesome. I heard her first on 'Give me a Minute', a song that always moves me to tears. And the duet with Finneas is perfect.
at first, the lines "hate to be lame, but i might love you" sounded like it came from a heart that's been considering love, might as in "hopeful". . . but then it escalated towards the end into a regretful "might" . . like "i hate to be lame but i might (didn't) love you", . .might as in "almost" but "didn't".. . 🙃
Doomsday hooked me, but this is my personal favorite from the new album. I'm a sucker for a good love song, and the vocal harmonies are so damn seductive.
Wow! What a talent, a talent surrounded by many others. I discovered you when you appeared on Jacob Collier's channel. Since, I am happy to see that your fan base is growing at exponential speed. (And that you even embarked on a tour. It must have been exhausting). You keep releasing little jewels. This one is no exception. What I really enjoy with your songs, are the quiet passages. It becomes a rare thing to allow music and voice to just breathe. Contrast is often missing, when releasing "radio-ready" productions. It must be LOUD ALL THE TIME. My ears are fed up with that constant loudness. With your songs, we get the tense passages, but are also the quietest one. That whole dynamic range exploration is something that makes your songs stand out. On this one, the quiet duet from 2:08 on, is giving me shivers down the spine. Thank you!
Liz I knew that you were bound for success from the minute a fellow student in Valencia recommended I listen to some of the songs you wrote while in Spain. Best of luck on your continued success.
How this much musical originality, vocal subtlety and insightful lyrics can come from a 22 year old woman is mystifying!! Lizzy's my Favorite new artist to appear in a very long time. she's our Joni Mitchell. God bless her!
I saw THIS ON A SMALL leaked TH-cam CLIP a while back and have been WAITING FOR THIS to come out! gosh, what a masterpiece. I just adore how it's a short song, commenting on how to love/relationships can feel like such a blur with so much happening and everything coming in pieces when dealing with the reality of the situation.
Yup, she’s wonderful. Super talented, beautiful, and smart. She sings like an angel and writes music like the genius she is. Some artists just know instinctively how to hit your major arteries and make your heart and blood race, Lizzy is definitely one of them. She’s a precious gift to our wounded world.
This album is absolutely incredible. I feel the emotion in every single song. Lizzy, you have such a talent to create and emote such beautiful music. Im so in awe 🥰
Thanks to spotify to introducing me to this magical song. Yesterday I hear it for the first time and I am in love with it. Fun things is before I saw who the male singer is here I was thinking about how this song reminds me of my experience with "Ocean Eyes" and my journey with Billie. I discover her on accident when the song didn't even had 100 000,00 views and was mesmerized by it and was showing everyone who wanted to hear me out about that song and I was saying that this song and Bille deserved to be much bigger. It took some time to "Ocean Eyes" get the views and Billie somehow become megastar from such a small artist she was when I discover her. I had the same feeling listening to this song thinking if only this song could be played in more places/introduced to more people I can feel that it is so magical that it will stuck with them and they will love it. I will again talking to people about this song and Lizzy's voice. Hope her talent and good karma will make this song more known because it deserved it.
This song much like the album as a whole so good, but hot damn the finneas section is absolutely breath taking. So much so because it feels song wants to take a breath to regroup but the vocals won't give the track that luxary.
'Older', the new album, out now!
lizzymcalpine.lnk.to/OlderAlbum
finneas' vocals with lizzy's is just heaven
It really is.
LITERALLY
Finneas as in Billie's brother?
@@homeland1128 yup
Definitely!
Literally every song off Five Seconds Flat is a masterpiece, it's such an incredible album. This song is one of my personal favourites, so good!!
honestly I couldn't agree more!!

So accurate! It's the work of a genius
"There be some butterfly affect what if we never met what if the stars never aligned." OBSESSED WITH THAT

Exactly this.
1000% agree
Hate to admit but it might be true
So well put! Exactly my thoughts too! It’s contentment with your beloved; the freedom to just exist with another in tranquility
Pretentious
This album is breathtaking. One of the best songs right here, hell of a time to be a fan.
Hi ARTV! Loved your video on Lizzy McAlpine :)
Yes excellent song. She's just a phenomenal talent.
I haven’t been this excited about a new artist in such a long time. Obsessed with this one obsessed with the whole collection. The videos. AH.
Same!
1:38 this shot is just amazing i swear i thought it was a painting
"cause i don't but i wanna feel okay" such powerful lyrics.
I recently found her music through Spotify recommendation and I gotta say I'm a new fan. Hope she can get the recognition she deserves
Love when that happens, like when it played me Jackie Onassis by Sammy Rae.
@@ClockworkDave omg SAME!!
Me too!!
Omg, I'm dying, she's so talented. And she already worked with Jacob Collier and Finneas, that's the dream.
Finneas man, never fails to impress. Lizzy too. She's so good like aaaahh... This song deserves to conquer the charts!
Never heard Lizzy before, just saw FINNEAS was featured in a new song so of course I had to check it out cause everything he does is amazing…and I was not disappointed!! She has a beautiful voice and they sound great together!!

the minute finneas' part comes, it sounds like heaven on Earth. Your voices sound so good together.
'we're right back where we started from' and then cutting to one of the first shots of the short film is one of my favourite moments
i'm glad finneas escaped the "oh he's just famous person's family member" curse
i was a fan before i knew he was related to billy eilish
I mean, she's literally a industry plant cuz of him tbh
he's an amazing artist
