Lyrics:
you got a slurpee for free
i caught you lookin’ at me
in the 7-eleven
under fluorescent lights
we walked in comfy silence
footsteps down familiar sidewalk
knowing that we were
here in our dreams last night
all my ghosts are with me
i know you feel them too
riding shotgun next to your free slurpee
they know all of my habits
but they don’t know about you
i hope that’s true
we made sangria and failed
i spilled mac and cheese on my pants
and thought about kissing you
underneath kitchen lights
all my ghosts are with me
i know you feel them too
oh they just stand there while we’re taking shots of brandy
they know all of my habits
but they don’t know about you
i hope that’s true
i can see it now
the wedding of the year
i can see it now
he stands up there and wipes his tears
i can see it now
when all my ghosts disappear
i can see it crystal clear
you got a slurpee for free
i caught you lookin’ at me
in the 7-eleven
under fluorescent lights
and all my ghosts were with me
i know you felt them too
watching as i started to get dizzy
cause i hate all of my habits
but i happen to love you
i hope that’s true

YAYYYYYYYYY ugh. i love this one. how r we feeling about another addition to the lizzy cinematic universe
Waiting for an appearance in a musical somewhere along the storyline
The LCU is great.
I love the story telling !!!!
WE LOVE IT SO MUCH AAGHHHHH ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
So awesome!!
That subtle Jacob Collier cameo! This song rips and the video is perfect!
I know I love it
My heart laughed when I spottet him!
and he tries to pay him in euros 😭
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
"subtle" :)
Her ex being in the mirror at 1:42 was actually so brilliant. This whole trilogy is such a vibe.
Whoaaaa I didn’t realize that
Yoooo amazing catch!
This is the only comment Lizzy has liked ,lucky
@@spiderguy01 omg... if lizzy liked the comment and you replied to the comment then by the principle of transitivity...
What does the trilogy include? Sorry, Im just now discovering Lizzy.😭
The subtle detail of Lizzy handing the cashier (I see you, Jacob) a Euro note, mistaking it for a dollar note, is so good. It means they've been travelling abroad, spending quality time together vacationing and just loving life with each other. It's so beautiful
Damn that’s a good point she studied abroad in Spain for a bit didn’t she
@@eliseb5761 oh shiiiiiit you’re right! I’ve heard her talk about that on her TikTok/Instagram lives
It could also be a nod to how Jacob Collier lives in North London! I like the detail either way
@@JasonCathcart true but in the UK we use pounds not euros:)
@@eliseb5761 Oh snapp you’re right my bad
girl you know i am so happy seeing you put out your music but i NEED THAT SONG YOU PREFORMED WITH FINNEAS...it's a masterpiece
RIGHT!!! IM WAITING
@@Mina-fm2lx same i think i've seen that song preformed from every vantage point possible
YES PLEASE
It’s gonna be on the album yay
DUDE ITS IN HER NEW ALBUM COMING OUT APRIL 8
Oh my goodness this is so good! It’s literally three songs in one story. Doomsday is about breaking up with her boyfriend which was at the football field and then erase me is about coping with that break up and at the end she goes to the same field and sees him at the same exact place she saw him last even with the face paint (which I didn’t really understand, if anyone knows please let me know) and then in all my ghost 3 years later she got a new boyfriend but her ex still haunts her as you see it’s the same guy at the end of this music video as the guy in doomsday and erase me. I don’t think I’ve ever seen other artists (besides musicals) make a story like this into multiple songs it’s amazing. I was trying to look for other little details of this story in the music videos but couldn’t find any at the moment. Let me know if you found some.
folklore’s cardigan, august, and betty show different sides to the same story of a love triangle. Check them out it really is something else. And I love that Lizzy incorporated a similar element here!
the wedding scene in the church is the same too, I think!
The number 1 trilly
troye sivan did something similar with his blue neighbourhood trilogy ! if i remember it correctly you follow the story of a boy as he grows up through 3 songs and their music videos
face paint = he broke up w her on halloween (mentioned in doomsday)
u know ur a lizzy fan when u already know the lyrics to the song lol
LMAO you are not wrong at all HAHAHAHA
true, I know all of the unreleased by heart
Felt that haha
FR
@@alex-rz8pd LOL YESSS
WHO MIXED THE VOCALS- THEY DESERVE AN AWARD
words cant even describe how proud i am with how far lizzy has come
Lizzy’s attention to detail and her ability to pull you in to her feelings has been there since her initial instagram posts, her travel blogs. I always felt her intuitive magic…her platform will continue to grow and we will continue to see her innate storytelling. It’s so relatable, she has captured our hearts.
I just love how the 3 songs are connected
I knowww it’s amazing
@@lukemills5179 How do you know that all the audience of doomsday will have the opportunity to see the sequels?
When you combine lyrical virtuosity with the flawless video production do you think that the potential romanticzing of teen angst and infatuation might lead to the ultimate act of self-harm by that small audience that might fail to distinguish between reality and performance. At a young age parts of the brain are not yet fully developed as had been argued forensically for years in connection with crimes, especially murder, committed by kids.
I apologize at directing this stark comment at you. I am not attempting to be disrespectful. Just frustrated by the potential harm that a production like this can accomplish.
Certainly, no need for a reply.
@@douglasmoffat1538 Lmaoo stfu nerd this is so far from true
which 3 songs pleasee
I'm such a fan. There's not a single song that you've made that isn't a top tier classic.
love this sound so much. the electric guitar like bells, the layered vocals soft and thick like gauze or silk
The ending was so relatable it was physically painful, in a good way; thank you for making me feel so deeply with your music
after hearing this song on SoundCloud for a long time I'm glad to see this happening
are u sure this song is on spotify??? i cant seem to find it
same
The outfit on the thumbnail?? chef’s kiss.
if u guys didn’t know, lizzy actually writes about things that happend to her irl and its so cool to see these songs come to life and understand the lyrics in another level
Spilling Mac and cheese on her pants, so relatable
This song makes me cry happy tears. It is so so so beautiful and comforting when you find that person who will love you even with all of your “ghosts”. Being someone with a lot of them this song just touches a tender part of my heart and reminds me how happy I am that I found my person :)) thank you Lizzy
It's no fun being the ghost.
this album is gonna be an emotional rollercoaster and tbh im here for it
I LOVED THE SOUNDCLOUD VERSION FROM THE START BUT THIS IS A WHOLE NEW LEVEL i am so grateful to have found these songs
i love how jacob also represents one of her ghosts, being from the previous song - the way he looks at her as she leaves… there’s something there for sure
I SWEAR LIZZY DESERVES MORE RECOGNITION FOR HER SONGS! This is the reason why I always recommend her songs to my friends or strangers.
DUDE THIS SONG MADE ME DISCOVER YOU AND FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR WORK
TH-cam and Deezer recommended me Over the Ocean Call, and I fell in love with this music and its getting better every time
three words- WHAT A VIBE. This song is absolutely beautiful!! Also, love the casual Jacob Collier appearance XD
This is great. It is so easy to make a cliché song with this style but this is not the case. I hear some great musical taste, beautiful story telling, the chords flow and are engaging, the structure is different, it's emotional... It's great :)
2:24 and the no-drop in the band is my fav!!!! Great writing and arrangement 😍
NO WAY!!!! i’ve loved this song for so long- omg i’m so excited
this song has me going crazy. SCREAMING, CRYING, SHOUTING, PRETENDING IM PERFORMING THE SONG, PULLING MY HAIR, ROLLING ON THE GROUND AND AGAIN, SCREAMING AND CRYING
i just cried because i am so overwhelmed with how proud i am of her. this is amazing
I’m literally so honored to be able to say that I’ve been following Lizzy and her music since November 2019. Love this girl with my heart and soul, I’m sure it’s been a roller coaster, but she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves ,and I’m incredibly happy for her ,this only proves how good she is. 💙 love you Lizzy
Besides the INCREDIBLE music itself, I think why I like Lizzy so much is because she doesn't take cheap shots as a songwriter and artiste. It is easy to have a breakup and write a song just to bitch about your ex (ahhem) but beyond being cathartic, it seems classless and empty. Everyone has experienced romantic heartbreak, but how do we talk or write or sing about it in a way that is artistic and purposeful?
But I think what makes Lizzy special is that she manages to capture her particular experience through intensely personal, true-to-life scenes ("we made sangria and failed / i spilled mac and cheese on my pants / and thought about kissing you underneath kitchen lights") while making it relatable to the every(wo)man. It is all at once recounting and storytelling, fact and fiction in the same breath.
Can't wait for the album!
My luv of Lizzy’s voice is unparalleled 😌
maam erase me put me in a coma please release the album already cause im dYing
I had a feeling this would be connected to erase me and doomsday!! I’m so happy it is :)
NO FUCKING WAY IM SO EXCITED OMG IM LITERALLY FREAKING OUT IVE HAD THE DEMO VERSION ON LOOP ON SOUNDCLOUD OMGGGGG BEST NEWS EVERRRR
THE JACOB COLLIER CAMEO THO HAHAHAHA
Can’t get enough of your music ❤️
I have started LCU (Lizzy Cinematic Universe) here.. and i came here after i listen to her in a colab with swatkins in "Just The Two of Us"
A Love song that talks about Slurpees is so up my alley it is almost a joke
Loved it so much!
oh hi jacob
what a relatable song, i cried for the first time in months, im happy now because i have someone i love, the ghosts don’t haunt me anymore
I’m so lucky to have found lizzy so close to a new release. What a gem 😭
ahhh that’s the best feeling, it gives you just enough time to get excited about the new album!
@@professorquinsonsnib exactly! I’m really happy ☺️
one of the most underrated artists rn
This woman will go down as one of the greats
lizzy out there being absolutely ICONIC and talented my god i love this so so much
Honestly this song is exactly what I am going through right now. I love her!
Real question is if the boy at the till explained you the harmonies of that 20 euro bill
keep rewatching this video over & over. i’m obsessed with the color grading in it & the overall darkness of this new era!! another great song & video
Harmony part at the end makes me cry very time
I guess I'd be stopping by that 7 Eleven pretty often too if Jacob's at the till lol
this is exactly what i've been waiting for...
Incredible song! Such a great part of this trilogy.
omg i’ve been wanting this song for so longgg
This is the 2022 version of the 1979 video. Amazing.
Great song! Love Jacob Collier’s cameo. ♥️
I LOVE LIZZYS CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE SONGS STORYLINES
listening to this after listening to reckless driving just makes me so sad. they were so happy
Your songs all have this same quality in my head that I cannot put into words, but it makes them all so great
OH MY GOD ?!!?! SO SO HAPPY TO FINALLY HEAR THE OFFICIAL VERSION OF THE SONG I HAVE LOVED SO MUCH SINCE I HEARD IT ON SOUNDCLOUD !!! This music video is a masterpiece !! Jacob as the cashier, Lizzy's little dancing, the "ghost" outside the store, and the threading in with the doomsday and erase me videos ?!! ahhh **chef's kiss**
This album will be amazing
Slurpees taste so much better when they're free
Zach braffs interview sent me here and do not regret it
Yessss loved this song on SoundCloud and with this production it’s so much more upbeat!!!!
Master piece ! Thanks Lizzy ! I'm waiting for the full album so much ! Great songs and great story !
1:15 That blink is my favorite part of the video.
HOLD UP. lizzy's new album with the song list is out. im shaking
I've been on TH-cam for more than a decade now and I never felt the urge to comment on anything until this! This has become one of my all time favourite songs! As a fellow singer-songwriter I hope she makes it big. She deserves it. Greetings from Croatia!
I have listened to you on repeat for 2 weeks, I can’t believe I’ve only just found your music! Apple pie and same boat are my absolute favourites!! 😍🙌🏻
I love thiiiis
the lyrics (you make things so realistic and like actual life - like the Mac n cheese part)
everything in the video
THIS ERA HAS BEEN SO GOOD TO US… IM READY FOR FIVE SECONDS FLAT
you just keep releasing bangers and crafting your lil narrative and i love this for you very much
I love to see how Lizzy gets more followers day by day. She has always been such a great inspiration for me and it's great to see that others find that out too.
the title of this song in my heart is “free slurpy”. it just makes so much sense.
I am so thrilled with the direction liz’s career is taking!!! this album’s gon be a banger
I love this with my entire soul and being
después de ver el semanath de nath campos, ando aquí escuchando esta canción, y la verdad no me arrepiento, está increíble!
Nothing but a trilogy of bangers, absolutely fantastic work!

Lizzy you are ethereal ✨
what a beautiful gift, sharing your talent to the world making every person less miserable than they are just by hearing your songs. ily, lizzy
i remembered listening to the voice memo for the first time and it immediately became the number one song to make imaginary scenarios BUT THIS THIS IS DIFFERENT AND IM HERE FOR IT SUPER OBSESSED
Love it! Great song and video. Such beautiful vocals and harmonies.
YES LIZZY!!!! you just keep outdoing yourself both musically and cinematically, cant wait to hear the whole album ❤
I love this whole album!
this era is something special lizzy x
This made me cry. It's so good!
lizzy this is incredible
Brilliant song, well written, great production and arrangement. Love how on the 2nd vers you quickly went to pre chorus and maintained the tension. Also, the melody is just superb. Glad I found you my lady.
I can see it now; This girl is going to be BIG someday.
SHUTUP! still not over doomsday 😭
This is my favorite of her new songs. "I knew" was one of the most emotionally influential songs of hers from GMAM and for me personally, this one is like the sequel to that song. It gives me hope that I can find and love someone else someday, and that it's okay to have ghosts. They will go away eventually and be replaced by love. ❤
i LOVE i knew!!! the second chorus always makes me cry omg
@@carolinemcadam4312 Omygosh yeah when I was going through all of that (getting over someone lol) and listening to her album a lot, that song probably made me cry the most out of the whole album! And that second chorus really hits you ah 😭 Until you said that, I didn’t even realize the chorus only happens twice! That’s crazy omg
bro lizzy is so pretty im gonna cry shes got it all
wtf the production of this is so insanely good, just the beginning made me shiver
