I had a job interview on 20th August, I didn't get the job. I came across your channel after. In one of your videos, I think this very one. You said if it's yours you won't have to bang so hard on the door. You speak alot about prayer and believing you're capable it just wasn't for you. I followed your advise, had an interview yesterday and I got a call back by one of the best company's in my profession in less than 24hrs. Thank you so much for your encouragements. Anyone believing for a job, may God come through for you like he did for me

Had always used the Five Ps as
Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance
But I have to say, prayer changes things and should definitely be a part of the 5 Ps!

To be honest... I feel like employers make it really hard to have successful interviews. If I have already given you a resume why are you asking me to fill out a form with the same information? That's being difficult. Also, ideally employers should have a copy of your resume at hand, I do agree that you should carry one just in case, however if they are asking you to send it to them via email and on the day of the interview they don't have it what is the purpose of asking it to be send to them in the first place if they aren't going to look at it and keep one with them to run through so they can ask the right questions? Employers need to be prepared also and they don't make anything easy. Some of them also give you the impression that your interview was amazing and then they don't hire you. They don't even have the decency to call or email explaining to you why you were not chosen or at least let you know then and there in the interview that they will not be selecting you. Employers also have the tendency to not be willing to give someone a chance, how will you know how well someone will do or how will can someone gain experience if you don't give them the chance? Employers really need to step their game up and stop making others feel bad about themselves because of some of these false perceptions they create of others. You will never get the perfect employee... no one is perfect. So long as you have someone that is ready and willing you shouldn't shut them down. Many of these employers would have been given a chance to have the experience needed. They would be surprised if they just gave people a chance.
Tbh you could say all the right things but if they looking for a particular person or already have someone in mind your changes are slim.
Why do some employers go the extra step to give information that would not be necessary unless they were calling you back and even going as far as stating that they intend to follow up with you and then ghost you? What is up with that? Don't give me the impression that my interview went well when you already have your mind made up. My time should be seen as valuable, why do people insist on wasting others time. Curtesy emails/calls are not as common as they should be. Or just say no to my face, geez. Feedback would be great, I know I'm not the only person this has happened to.
This! I see this all the time interviewing jobs. Then I'll finally get an email saying how great or fantastic I interview just to tell me I wasn't selected.
I had someone who told me they decided as soon as they saw me and that they were excited to hire me. It was really odd when I didn’t get hired.
I had a potential employer call me for a 2nd interview and the whole 2nd interview was 15 minutes and a complete waste of my time, what they asked could have been easily done over the phone or by video chat instead. I drove 120 miles round trip for the 2nd interview, and it was a complete waste of my time. Not long after that happened I started hearing things about them and their reputation, which weren't good. After this experience I learned how to thoroughly research a company ahead of time to find out what their reputation was like in their industry, and how they generally treated their employees, as these were important things to me. My experiences while I was interviewing led me to become self-employed instead, which has been a lot better fit for me and I absolutely love the clients I work with. We have to remember that while we are thinking we'd like to go one way with our career, sometimes our higher power is trying to lead us down a different path that is a better fit for us.

@@jalishaj01 Trust your gut, it's rarely wrong. Also, do your research ahead of time about any potential employer you are considering applying with, including but not limited to reading reviews left by other people that also interviewed with them.
My experience left me with the decision to become self-employed instead, which has worked out a lot better for me and my situation. I may work harder, but I can always take the time off I need during the day to take care of my own serious health problems or take my laptop with me to my parents house to help take care of the needs of my aging parents.
Just trust your gut, because it will never lead you wrong.

Oh my gosh. This is sooooo true and it makes me mad. Companies want the candidate to be honest, but they lie all the time, especially when it comes to reaching back out to the candidate. Before reading who commented this I started typing. I just realize I left you a message on another video. I think that we think along the same lines.
This happens to me twice already on During interviews, I was asked if I knew how to do few things that were not even in the job ad descriptions 🤦🏻♀️ Like seriously??? Red flags
@@kasun1752 no thats fine , the company might also be hiring for another role and you can get hired for that role instead or it would be a bonus to know that (otherwise you will be learning that on the job)
When I interview candidates I am very clear on the job description, and I explain that although is not in the job description the position may require it but if they don’t know they will be trained, and in regards to having another job that I can hire them for … well it all depends I myself hate when I apply for a job and the recruiter calls me for other position that has nothing to do with what I want. When I said red flag it was in reference to interviewers who talk in a condescending manner just because the candidate indicates that don’t know how to do a particular task. I know my worth so I like to treat candidates how I like to be treated.

These are great tips Brigette! I did a similar training for my interns at my previous company.
I would suggest you to post tips for candidates with zoom interviewing techniques too. I am sure you would have done it and I missed it.
I also feel sometimes the interviewers make the whole experience so good that answers just flow free and you can express yourself at the best while some intimidate so much that you can hardly move forward. I think that’s where the last “P” prayer comes to rescue.
