Afro Samurai is a short 5 episode anime from 2007 that was inspired heavily by black culture. With black culture having parts of it adapted into mainstream culture, this anime has aged like wine. Afro Samurai is now more relevant than ever because of this. This video could be considered an Afro Samurai review. I also gotta mention that Samuel L. Jackson is in this anime and there's also music from RZA from the Wu-Tang Clan.

I remember one day coming home from school and my older brother very excitedly wanting to show me Afro Samurai. I watched the first scene and was instantly hooked. To this day I haven't rewatched any piece of media as many times as I have Afro. Truly a masterpiece.
You should really give manga a read too as it is drastically different from the anime.
Afro Samurai is definitely one of my favorites. Primarily because of its homage to black, street, east coast hiphop culture. Which is many of the subcultures within black culture.
It would be dope to see some respectful references and celebration of other aspects within black culture in future anime. Hoping for more.
Couldn't agree more, there's so many aspects of black culture that would make for some dope ideas in anime. I'm surprised we haven't been getting more nowadays.
i just can’t get enough of the afro series especially since i can relate to him i wish they would come back and make a part 3 or something the fact that this anime pulled this off in 2007-2009. I can only wonder the success this can bring now with how big anime is and how black culture is. Like think about RDCworld1 a diverse but mostly black group and they are into anime this is becoming the norm more and more getting black people and just people in general involved in anime. I just wish they would give it another try but don’t mess it up. Like throw in another good sound track maybe edge off of the father focus and just change the route a bit. it’s a original anime so they have no strict rules to follow so they can literally do anything they want. it’s like so much high potential they aren’t using.
Nice
Thank you Boli-San
Interesting video and I loved Afro Samurai, going to rewatch it soon. The lack of appearances in anime is a direct result of it being Japanese and not having many people of color there, but also their love for “White Hollywood” and Europe.
Oh, great shoutout to Samurai Champloo too !!!
Very underrated samurai classic
awesome and funny commentary bro you got me cryingggg💀
You the Mvp for including all the music you used.
Nice vid as always Guaz
Thank you Wise Prophet
Yeah I love Afro Samurai one of my favorite anime of all time just picked up the updated manga they released to with new cover art.
Finally you noticed
I stay in tuned
The boondocks was literally an anime
This video was so good man
Man, Yusuke ended up sucking, though. They just took a bunch of anime cliches and followed that little white girl he was watching aftet more than him. The actual historical figure who had a real life story that would have been interesting to see, but they preferred making it like every other anime only a quarter as interesting.
Just rewatched that shit with my gf the other day, I remember watching this shit on spike in middle school, not really knowing what it was, the first episode I saw was when Ninja Ninja died and told him Jinno has to die, this shit aged so well
Yes thank you so much. By the way don't forget about joco from shaman king
Michiko is a G

One of the few times I watched a K-Pop performance it reminded me of R&B performances we have going on here, I thought I was tripping lol
@@Guaz nah they just straight up rip it off and people think it's some new style or something they only fool the little kids.
Classic
Afro was my shit!!!!
Facts, it's still a fun watch even now
Will you do a review on webcomics? I have several suggestion if you want
Probably not :(
@@Guaz Shame
Don't forget Chocolove and Megan thee Stallion partnership with Crunchyroll and soon to be the she-hulk for Marvel
Thanks for putting me on about that Megan thee Stallion collaboration, gonna come in clutch for the other video idea 😳
they're even putting anime in their rap lyrics... next video idea: "How anime has been modernized in Western culture"
Quality content
It's what I do

I don't know if this is true but i heard that they might continue afro samurai in 2022
I've always wanted Takashi Okazaki to make a spin off or some kinda continuation. Afro Samurai is so much fun to watch and read
Yes, the series would do so good nowadays. They definitely should do something with the series.
🐐
the anime is heat
Semi consistent yet not really Guaz in the building?
LOL BRO how you compliment me and roast me at the same time
You rock
Not as much as you
Does this really matter?
Yes
what the hell type of question is this? Does your culture matter? All it is an analysis and information video. He didn't even really give an opinion on anything
