The house is lovely ! But as a mum of 3 I would definitely change the planned ‘tv room’ into a play room, toys take up so much room and you need somewhere to put them if you want a tidy house x
Black doors would look amazing with the decor you already have and your stairs 😍😍. Convert garage into a mud room to hang coats and boots and shoes and keep laundry near your kitchen, as when baby comes you’ll not enjoy going back and forth to garage with the ton of washing you do with a new baba xxx
Hahaha literally me honestly, I’m so proud to how far they’ve come. I remember watching them when they were all little, well not little but they’re so sweet🥺
I would definitely consider having the snug as a playroom (at least in 12 months time) as it’s off the kitchen so the little one can be playing with toys whilst you’re in the kitchen and you’re still close by. You could put the big sofa in the front room and have a small one in the playroom. You’ll be glad of being able to shut the door on all the toys of an evening xxx
That quirky space in front of the kitchen could be turned into a pantry?? Only if you think the extra storage would benefit you guys. Cant wait to see when it’s all done😊
Also, just my opinion, I think leaving the washer and tumble dryer where it is actually makes more sense - if you plan to transform the garage into a mud room, you could have built in coat and shoe storage there anyway, especially since it opens to the outdoors! Also that first floor bathroom is kind of a guest bathroom, so it wouldn’t make sense to me to have a coat closet leading in there. Love your videos and feel so privileged that you consider us friends and let us look into your gorgeous home and lives!
If your using the down stairs loo as a coat room (brilliant idea) id definitely put the door back on the loo, the amount of "poo particles" that fly around a room is unreal 😳 😷
Just a thought, you might want to postpone moving the washing machine. With a newborn you will be doing constant loads of washing and it might become more of a chore if you have to go out into the cold garage 💛
In the nursery, should have the change table to go on the right hand side as you walk in the room, and not the crib. You change them so many times a day it makes much more sense for it to go there.
I agree with this, I was just thinkin the same thing. Also so the baby doesn’t sleep directly behind the door. Makes more sense to put the changing table there instead of the crib.
So excited to see everything finished! With the garage turning into a mud room, you could put built in cupboards for coats and all your shoes. This way it would look tidy in there and make sense when coming in with the muddy dog. You could then also look to do a built in under the stairs storage like Mrs Hinch has had done and make the downstairs bathroom bigger with a better layout so guests get the luxury experience or push the wall back to get rid of the awkward space you are currently unsure as to what to do with in the kitchen!
Carys we’d love an in depth ‘tour’ of your dressing room and dressing table!! I also noticed you’ve got what looks like a Stackers jewellery box and I always love your dainty jewellery so maybe we could get a little look into that too? Xx
So excited for your family with these renovations. Privileged to have an insight into your wonderful family. Can't wait to watch. Also well done for having the effort to actually tidy the whole house hah ♡
This house is massive 😭😭😭😭 what an actual blessing to be living this life, and then you have your bundle of joy on the way and will have a perfect cute family in such a homely home 😭😭 a DREAM 😭♥️
I think you should paint the doors black or have some black accents on them ( or maybe grey ) i think off white will blend in too much a contrast will tie in the other black details!
As a mum of a toddler we are now doing an extension because we are desperate for a playroom, toys take up all the space and is now half our lounge, just something to think about for the future! xx
Love the idea of turning the garage into a mud room and somewhere to put the washer and dryer . Just An idea but I’d also put all the coats in the mud room (room where the washer / dryer etc will be ) as it’ll be handier once you come in the side door from outside you can just hang them up and pop your shoes off there . And then where the washer and dryer is now , you could use it as extra storage space to put all your cleaning products etc . Love you guys . Yous are my favourite TH-camrs and so happy for you guys on baby girl . Love from Ireland 🇮🇪
you might want to think about turning that garage into a playroom. the rest of your house seems very adult orientated. trust me, kids toys etc soon build up and the house becomes overrun. also going for a chalky finish on the doors might be a problem with kids...they have very mucky hands. :)
@@bethann_louise i know that, i wasn't being mean i was just making them aware that they will need some sort of area for their child as the house will become over run with toys etc if they don't.
After discovering the most revolting forum in existence, I have decided to do my bit to counter the nasty, disgusting, sickening negativity floating about by liking 20 of your videos and commenting on them all. You deserve EVERYTHING you have in life and you are both beautiful, wonderful people. I hope you never ever let sad, sick, lonely, unwell people affect your shines. Lots of love X
LOVE YOUR HOUSE!! I would definately advice in that odd kitchen bit with the storage cupboard to make that into toy storage... Maybe look up children learning approaches such as Montessori, Reggio Emilia and other smiliar and design that corner into a toy storage, put a soft mat on the floor and stuff so when baby is small it can lie in that area on a playmat while you cook and clean, and you can keep an eye on her and when she is a toddler it can be a "playroom" she could use while you are in the kitchen or TV room be within sight at all times. Give you a space for all the toys and bits that can be pit out of sight while she sleeps being is functional in the day while she plays??
Also an idea for the 'quirky kitchen corner' is either baby toys storage or your washing machine and tumble drier. I think you'll get annoyed going downstairs to a cold garage every time you do washing. It's a perfect place for storage! Don't think you need another sofa or seating xx
I would 100% place your coats and shoes into the under stairs space, converting that open space into cupboards. Then in the current downstairs loo, I’d convert that into a down stairs wet room, allowing you to have another bathroom in the space. I agree keeping the two doors in the snug room. It makes sense having the space and is also great for a fire safety point of view. In the kitchen, could you turn the nook into a office space? Or a reading nook? X
This house is amazing and when you have everything done you want I hope it is everything you want it to be. I have lived in my house for 7 years and slowly saving up to do bit by bit, we are currently saving for a new bathroom! Thanks for your positive videos and stay safe. X
@@JamesandCarys it's amazing to see your house transformed into your own haven. Hopefully next spring we will get it done, just have to see what happens with COVID and what restrictions are in place.
When you move the "utility" into the garage, id knock through the wall and add the space to the kitchen. You can have "coat storage" in the new wet room x
I would get some storage for your quirky corner that can be used for toys etc or a pantry ? Would be good to have somewhere directly opposite the snug for snacks but also storage for toys would be useful to have too! Xxx
Definitely would turn under the stairs into a cupboard and use that for shoes and coats. Coming from a mum of 2 under 2 you don’t want your washer and dryer far away especially if you’re home alone and doing laundry!!x
So many great ideas. Don't have too many toys they're unnecessary. Our house was tiny when our girls were small so I only allowed a small storage box to be kept in the lounge, therefore less to tidy up 😊. You can't really put the washing machine in the garage unless you've insulated it as the pipes may freeze and you don't want to drop lovely clean white babygrows on a concrete floor either. But until you do your proper conversion you could make a fantastically big storage cupboard in the kitchen where the dark sideboard currently is which would be quick to install and very inexpensive. Use the whole of that space from the pillar all the way along in front of the tiny window for shoes, coats pushchairs etc as it's too much of a thoroughfare rather than a decent usable space. Lots to think about. All very exciting 😀
I personally would make the downstairs bathroom have a shower. Get rid of all the washing machines. I wouldn’t make it a coat place. What I would do is in that odd space in kitchen. Get personalised cupboards built in from ceiling to floor for coats. And shoes and I think you’ll make better use or that space and would look better. It would make that space look less random. And you could make the cupboard space quite deep as well xxx
The previous porch doors would have been a sliding door, they are actually fantastic for keeping the house warm in winter and for parcels while you're out because you can just have them left in the porch if you leave them unlocked but lock the main door lol. Can still make it cute and it becomes a dry 'indoor' space to take your shoes off, especially after a dog walk or leave the pram so it's not getting in the way indoors or wheeled through wet/muddy after a dog walk or park x
House of dreams!!!! 😍 It's beautiful guys. So excited to see what you do with the nursery! You really are just the cutest couple ever, complete relationship goals!! Love watching your videos xx

Beautiful beautiful house with brilliant plans. As a mum who had similar plans to what you want I would say don't spend too much on the second lounge area as one they are old enough and start getting ALLLLLL the toys you may want a nice room to chill in and a play room type living room.
I would open up the door to the kitchen do It’s just a long hallway with out the door and it would open up the awkward corner. Then for the space next to the kitchen you could do a super cute breakfast nook. But I love everything you have done!! Looks amazing!😍😍
I personally would put doors on the porch where the wooden doors use to be an remove the internal doors you have now so you have a mudroom as such so you have a place for coats and shoes opening the hallway space ☺️ wish you the best 💘
I'm so excited to see what you guys do with the Kitchen. A hot tub is a cool idea, but it can take a lot of maintenance: cleaning filters, filling and cleaning (plus the cost of heating it).
What a cozy beautiful home you two!! I think it would be lovely if you changed the front door of the snug to a French door, would really bring some light in and provide practicality while still opening up the space!
I Totally agree with everyone on the color of your interior doors. They would definitely stand out more and match the rest of your decor if they were painted BLACK.I would definitely reconsider the choice of off white.Just my opinion.Your House is beautiful, and you are doing an amazing job with the Reno's.😀👍
have you seen the nurseries that have the hanging chairs for feeding babies? as oppose to rocking chairs? the ones that hang from the ceiling they’re super chic xxx
Love your house so much!! Love all the changes you are making! The stairs are amazing! Love all your craft pieces too that you have displayed! Can’t wait to see the kitchen.
I loved this!! You two must be so proud of yourselves 🥰 I found your channel originally when Carys first uploaded your empty house tour of your old house on her channel, been here ever since! Love from Dubai 🇦🇪
As a mom of 2 I would put a little kid table and storage for crafts for kids in that little extra space in the kitchen. Of course adding a play kitchen as well there bc my litttle girl love make food in her play kitchen while I am cooking. House is beautiful!!
You should get rid of the snug room door in the hall entry way and put in a long horizontal non glass window with shutters. That way you can still spy.
You guys are my favorite TH-cam friends!! Y’all’s house looks amazing, can’t believe you’ve been there almost a year already! And P.S. I LOVE the exposed brick in the garage!! I wish I had some in my house
ahh your cozy tv snug room is going to be so nice, you guys should get one of those tv's that can be turned into art, we have one in our tv room and its so nice being able to choose all this different art instead of a black screen on the wall
I actually think the shape of the nursery is pretty cute😅 Although I think you guys should put the crib in the little nook where the bed is & a dresser with a changing pad on the right when you walk in🥰
Have you guys considered taking the door off the kitchen? Like would you ever actually close the door between the kitchen and the hall? Removing the door can help with the two door fiasco at the kitchen entry.
Your house is so stunning! Such a lovely, hardworking couple couldn’t imagine anyone more deserving of this beautiful space!! I can’t wait to see the nursery room transformation!! Also, I spotted your estrid razors in the bathroom.. they are the BEST razors lol loved this video guys xxx
As you are putting a glass panel in where the door is in the kitchen, is there any chance you could put the hinges on the other side so it opens the against the window panel? Then it stops the two doors making the awkward corner where you can’t do anything with.
It’s all coming together so nicely you are creating a beautiful home 😊. Instead of steps from the garage why don’t you have a slope so you could also bring the pram in that way if you’ve all been out for a walk
TV room idea! (Sofa size depending).. Block up the door from the hallway and add a big TV built in unit on the TV wall, like you originally wanted Carys. 😍👌 Xxx
Love the house I would love a huge hutch for nice dishes/China in that odd space off the kitchen and a cozy reading chair with Milas bed on the long wall if that makes sense
makes my day watching these vlogs, thanks so much for making lockdown so much less terrible. i haven't left the house for anything other than college in weeks but your videos make me forget how stressed i am for a while xxx
For now why don't you get the over door hooks to go on your doors. Can hand coats on the door (where the washing machine is) and can get some for the bedroom or bathroom for dressing gowns etc. Of you could buy a wall fixture one and hang them up in the garage.
What a lovely house you have. One word of advice would possibly be that the snug could be a playroom? Just as now I have two boys the most annoying thing is is kids toys in the living room. Recently moved and they now have a playroom and all in there and so much nicer to be able to sit in evening without looking at kids toys x
A suggestion to consider with the mud room/utility, is a dog shower and make it wider to turn round a pram and store your pram! - than have somewhere to bring the pram into rather than struggling up and down steps from front door if coming back from dog walk around your area :)
The little alcove in the master bedroom would look good with a bassinet for baby girl and your rocking chair until you are ready to put her in her room also the solace down stairs in kitchen would be a good place for a kiddy space toys arts and crafts a kids kitchen ect
The house is lovely ! But as a mum of 3 I would definitely change the planned ‘tv room’ into a play room, toys take up so much room and you need somewhere to put them if you want a tidy house x
This was my first thought! Smaller couch and storage for toys instead of a fire place.
I second this
Great idea 👍🏻
Yep totally agree

makes my day watching these vlogs, thanks so much for making lockdown so much less terrible. i haven't left the house for anything other than college in weeks but your videos make me forget how stressed i am for a while xxx
This is such a lovely comment thank you! Hope that you are finding some happiness in college and other things in these strange and difficult times ❤️
@@JamesandCarys omg thankyou so much for the reply 🤩😱
That shed should be a beautiful summer house, 💕 love your home
It would look so cool and beautiful if you painted the downstairs doors black and upstairs doors and off white colour
Ever think of putting floor to ceiling shoe shelves in your garage? Speaking of very American reno!
In your quirky door corners you should change them to barn doors to maximize the amount of space
That little corner in the kitchen if you guys are drinking you could make it a little bar area that would look really cool
You should look at the hanging log burners for the snug, really cute :)
For now why don't you get the over door hooks to go on your doors. Can hand coats on the door (where the washing machine is) and can get some for the bedroom or bathroom for dressing gowns etc. Of you could buy a wall fixture one and hang them up in the garage.
I think when you walk into the formal living room the first area of it you should make into a little play area for the baby x
What a lovely house you have. One word of advice would possibly be that the snug could be a playroom? Just as now I have two boys the most annoying thing is is kids toys in the living room. Recently moved and they now have a playroom and all in there and so much nicer to be able to sit in evening without looking at kids toys x
such a beautiful job you have done to your house. I LOVE it! wow so so so beautiful!!!
The house is stunning, I also love your decision to change the ceiling lights in the living room from the previous ones, look a lot cosier now🥰 xxx
A suggestion to consider with the mud room/utility, is a dog shower and make it wider to turn round a pram and store your pram! - than have somewhere to bring the pram into rather than struggling up and down steps from front door if coming back from dog walk around your area :)
Such a good idea and defo one we’re thinking about! Looking to do something like this in the future 🤞
I’m living for this theme😍
So happy to be in this journey for the house and of course your little one💕
Love you’re home it’s so cosy & realistic 💜
The little alcove in the master bedroom would look good with a bassinet for baby girl and your rocking chair until you are ready to put her in her room also the solace down stairs in kitchen would be a good place for a kiddy space toys arts and crafts a kids kitchen ect
