Beautiful. A friend had one and allowed me to do some learner driving in it in the Lake District around 1955. Great!

I’ve fond memories of these. Back in 1959, my family of six and my aunt’s family of four hired one of these and drove from Wolverhampton down to Port Issac in Cornwall (the place now spoilt by the Doc Martin series). Four adults, six kids and an Airedale piled into it and it chugged down there and chugged back, no problem at all. Great cars!

What a show piece I have a 1950 MO in Sydney in Battle ship grey...
Love it to bits, so much fun to drive keeps up really well in Sydney traffic with the 1500 cc motor. The engine has plenty of torque and very cheap to run.
Using it as the wedding car for my nephew in November his fiancé was born in Oxford!!
Learnt to drive on a 4 speed column shift manual the MO is the same.

My first car was the same colour green and same year 1953 although the trafficators were replaced by flashing lights. I was 19 at the time and the car was 17 in 1970 and the number plate was 8383 H so an ‘H’ reg car in that year. It cost me $30 and I did 8,000 miles in it until it failed MOT due to gear linkage being broken and rust in the floor. The 1500 side valve engine was not the most powerful but it went OK. It was interesting to drive with the broken column gear change lever that had to be held down by the thumb and steered by the right elbow whilst engaging 3rd and 4th gears. Sadly it’s life ended as a banger racer which survived well in being one tough car. Fond memories!

My very first car was the same as this one except painted Gunmetal grey and in excellent condition.
I bought it privately in Christchurch New Zealand for $200 nzd (£100) in 1972
