Thank you all so much for the kind words. I've not made a tutorial like this before and I am thrilled its got the amount of views it has. Whats best is that if or whatever you learn on this video by the end you can apply most of it to any other racing games. The only thing you would have to practice on a different game is just the mechanics, and that won't take anytime at all. Hakone can be intimidating at first but you guys can tackle it and trust me when you can nail every turn it will look badass! :D P.S Happy to help if anyone has any specific questions in regards to the game or racing.
Some of the earlier Wangan games maybe available only on PS1 (Japanese Copy) and the layout/design isn't like how it is in arcades. You can buy the machines however to get the most of it you would have to get 4 machines linked which is costly (£1500 - £3000+ each). Not to mention if you have the money to get them and you want to play online you would have to pay Namco per month to run per machine. It comes to no surprise that these machines are only in arcades and not privately owned seeing how much it costs to run it. I don't know how much it is per month but you can see sometimes on a machine it will have a yellow box on screen explaining it is close to running out of plays (Usually like a "No banacards banner" sign). Thanks a lot dude. The driving was a little rough since I made some errors in a few corners and I had the means to get a solid screen capture but the arcade head office said no even when I had explained to them how I can do it. All music tracks appear on the bottom left for Initial D + Season and Episode number.
m8 thank for the tips😃i really liked the throttle turbo control and btw do you know some handling techniques for the evo 9? even my rank is a6,i still suck at handling controls.thanks again. : )
Glad the throttle tip helped out. You know...despite it being the most popular car in the game I had never owned one hahaha. Well, it depends what you use that handling for. Is it for Hakone specifically? Handling in general? Or it blocking?...
DanteDevilDan sorry same person here. I lack at controlling fast speeds at a red corner or hard ones but I rewatched the video again and again and I improved.I really appreciate it.plus make more tutorials m8. :-)
Thats fantastic to hear man! Those turns are very ugly indeed, easy to catch people out. Brake half a second, off the gas and then feather it upon aiming at the apex. If you get 20 metres ahead and nail each corner you can effective pull away from the outrun races :). Yes more are currently being made with multiple tips for all skill ranges. All filming is being done in Sydney
Thanks for this man. I just started and I just maxed out my car (rarely playing with other players) and I wanna play alot in hakone. So 740 HP and rest handling? (im only 800 HP, not 830)
Thats the idea :). Even getting through Hakone at a decent time will allow you to nail most other corners of other tracks, developing your driving skill even more :D. This video was originally going to be recorded with a capture card but even with a proposal made sent to the Auckland Timezone arcade it eventually got refused, probably because NAMCO didn't like the idea of me poking some other wires into their HDMI (even though I know exactly what I'm doing)
bro, thanks for posting this tutorial !! i learned a lot from this video, by using the white lines as a guide beside the road, basically i used to not to get near the rail as possible, but i'll try to unlearn what i used to do before and try out. and one more thing is the 1.0 and 1.5 (Turbo) i used to decrease acceleration when cornering, but everytime i unaccelerate the control is infrequently, like sometimes fully off the accelerator or on the range before 0.0 btw thank you soo much for this video, already subscribed, liked. thanks man, cheers and have a good day. hope to see you post more video about WMMT ! :D
You're welcome dude, getting close to the guardrail/wall/edge is important when positioning yourself on the road, if you have been driving close to that already then you should adapt quite easily. As for turbo, yeah try first throttling off and on, get a feel for it...then experiment how much to use and how hard down or how much to lift. Glad it helped out for you, more videos are being planned :)
Amazing detail,I consider myself as a rough player, never focusing on throttle control and only on speed and getting to the first.Never knew that the boost gauge can be a indicator for throttle application.Good video. Do one on C1 Inward if you have the time. All the best!
Thanks a lot man. One idea I had was to demonstrate more on throttle control as a method of steering + calculating how much/little to use so you can nail a corner tight. The throttle is invaluable in the game since the game mechanics never lets the car spin out from oversteer. Good practice is to try and navigate a track without braking and rely only on the throttle. It is do-able and it may not be faster but it will give you much sharper control. If i manage to get back on the game then I will do requests for tracks
I've never seen this game before and I don't know how I got here; all I can say is that I am quite fascinated watching you clear this mountain pass! :D

Woah! It's so easy to understand like this.. I'm still having a hard time practicing those foot work and the course itself.. Great video man! Greetings from Philippines! :)
I love this game but i live so far from a machine that i can only play a couple of times per month, I try to make time and spend a few hours with a machine if i can, but I feel like even though I've maxed out my car and have done ok in battles, I dont get nearly the amount of practice that i would like, so this helps a little, i hope more videos like yours come out
thanks to you after i look this video to how tackle corners for hakone road..but if i use supercar (Audi R8 & BMW M6) somehow have a little struggle on tight corner but it's ok it still can handle as well..
Europeans are a little tricky to handle I agree. However I am thrilled to hear the video helped you out :). Gaining confidence is a great motivator. Happy Drifting!
Thanks you so much dude this helps me a lot specially in Outbound.I never thought that throttle controls would make such a difference at first and now im 8 seconds faster than before.By the way,Does hitting the wall in Inbound too will help or not cuz i accidentally did it and skip some corners a bit faster
No worries my friend, I am happy to hear you shaved time off your pb, eight seconds is a massive difference. Inbound has no wall bumps at all, however Outbound has two. What makes for an overall fast time is pure momentum on Hakone. Skipping a corner with a wall hit may made that corner pass quicker, but the overall time at the end will be affected because any form of impact will slow the car down. The idea of the two Outbound wall hits is to kill your speed quicker than relying on your brake, and do it at an angle so that you can regain the speed just lost much faster. I'll be curious to know your time and what corner you did that on. You can timestamp on my video if you like so I can see.
DanteDevilDan im quite a starter in hakone before so my outbound time goes from the bad 2'43 to a 2'35 but normally i go around 2'38s so i consider myself lucky that time because i forced myself to use my ZR1 to the fifth gear in the middle part which usually i sucked.(Around 9:08 ~ 9:20) Now the corner im saying maybe isn't correct because i did it accidentally but im pretty sure its 7:59 because i remember the tight left and the red striped road with the 'going up' type of corner.sadly i forgot my Inbound time but the bump really recovers my speed after the corner so i thought that its faster than before, maybe it is but as you said,it could affect the overall time and rhythm i guess. Anyway thank you so much for replying and have a nice day
hey man i only started about 2 weeks ago already invested about $200+ i play at timezone burger king in town ;), i kinda picked up the advices u gave by watching the few timezone kings haha thanks for the vid it made everything clearer
Mechanics of the game may have changed. I never played on 3 but I imagine if I switched to 3 back then I wouldn't be able to run it like I do on 4. Don't worry dude, practice makes perfect and you will be able to rip up those turns :)
Hakone uphill is my FAVORITE course. I despise all the booby traps and tollbooths in the game, but even hakone has some too. I USED TO brake hard running it downhill on that hard right turn, but have found that simply lifting the throttle early and scrubbing speed by skidding is not only doable, but probably faster. If you REALLY want the fastest times, drive god mode so you can see exactly how far you are from obstacles, but I hate it and consider it cheating. Fortunately, even with AT, I'm still better than 95% of fender benders
This game looks like something I could dedicate some serious time into. If I do find it somewhere, then I'll try to remember this video since it taught me quite a few things about the game!
Luigian Krillberryson Oh yeah haha. Well as far as I'm aware, WMT4 and 5 is only available between China and NZ (and neighbour countries). It sucks bad because its so much fun
I’m flattered dude, but Im definitely not flawless. In one of my newest videos I confessed that the videos are the result of numerous failed runs. Sometimes it took 2-10 runs to get the capture I wanted for the purpose of making a future video. I’m confident you will improve dude, everyone has power to do so. Best to do it when you are focused and positive.
Ahhhh those were the days, yeah man I was the exact same and I had 6 fully dressed cars all A rank. Started again soon after, sucks when that happens. Thats great to hear you're getting back to it, who knows, there maybe more stuff :)
+DanteDevilDan you may have been one of the few I learnt from. I used to just watch people play and saw that they apex every turn. With the Hakone track I kinda taught myself the same boost pressure techniques you use so it was cool seeing that in this vid.
What did you mean by minor corrections (4:03)? And how and when should you apply these minor corrections when talking about the whole game meaning every map??
Hey Addicters6 Essentially yes, its a driving style so it can be used any map. Considering Hakone has more importance on corners you are likely to use it more on this track Here is an example: Say you did a perfect turn on Hakone on the first run, but the second run you do the same corner but 3kph too fast in the apex. It would mean you will more than likely hit the wall on the exit. So to avoid this you would ease off the gas and turn away from the wall a little. Thats what I meant by minor corrections, I apologise if it caused some confusion :) Give me a shout if you still aren't sure.
Its tricky to think of more tips for the track, apart from highlighting key areas of killing speed for your rivals. If its driving style or techniques then those would be made on their own videos onto the Tutorial Series Playlist
If wangan midnight makes a episode about mt hakone race Only takumi reaches the finish line Akio got 2nd place cuz low skill at curvy roads And others were ended up like akina
Planning to get a Banaport card and take the Mazda RX-7 FC as my main car. Will try to master downhill in Hakone and be the fastest in Gunm- Hakone pass. Will the FC be the best car for downhill? Plus, how do you use the manual transmission? Thanks!
Panzer Ace pros (FC): good handling cons: low acceleration but if you want the casual cars, all choice is okay. just choose one you liked and learn the behaviour. only five aspects of the car will be different each other: power, weight, handling, dimension and number of gears.
dantedevildan the video do alot of progress for me right now i mastered the steering but im still training on turbo its okay to see turbo meter?,i always see the turbo cuz my eyes open see everything on display
Swag Ben When starting, yes it's ok to look. I only mean when it comes to battling and confident Time Attack only a glance is more than enough. I suppose it's misleading as you certainly need to look at the meter to see what happens at first. I'm saying when you get the feel of it, you shouldn't look at it. That way you can focus on everything else ☺️
Hey Dante you know any Techniques to practice The 1.5 turbo meter? i used to manage my linings in tracks though but Im having trouble with the turbo meter... sometimes i use "Gas release & Early turn" instead of brakes.... btw i subbed bro thanks for the tips
Hmmm. Try using it on turns where you usually let off the gas. You may find you can carry over more speed in some turns in the game or as a way to accelerate from an approaching barrier. Hakone has it more frequently so you have plenty of experimenting opportunities. If you're not comfortable with that track then by all means give my first suggestion a go. And thank you very much for subbing :D
I got a 830 DG car, and semi-good at drifting; still need lots of practice. What HP should i use for Hakone? Is it a good idea to stick to a HP setup no matter the map? I feel i need practice with just one setup. It throws me off when i have to suddenly get used from a high grip car to a high speed one.
I tried it, and damn, i actually did pretty good! I don't know why but 760hp feels drastically different to 740; gonna stick with Balanced as much as i can. I'm gonna have to practice using brakes and throttle control. I've been unconsciously half-pressing the accelerator, but i honestly thought that was just me letting go of the accelerator completely; thought the pedals were just a switch, not based on sensitivity. Also...what speed (from 3th gear) do i need to get to, to switch to 4th gear?
this is awesome i can see your a initial d fan just like me even tho im 11 im defenetli not a begginer at this game id say intermediate to profesonal even tho i dont even have a banapassport but this videi was great and thanks
Hello Dante. May I ask. I'm gonna make a competition with my friend . He use FD and I Z34 at Hakone course. In this situation will the cornering machine win or what??? . But your video very helpful to me. Now i dunno what to do . Because I have the Z only not the AE86. Can you tell me what i have to do?? I really appreciate if you reply . ^_^
Depends what you mean. The FD is the most balanced car in the game and from what Ive heard the Z has decent speed but little inferior in cornering. Like I said I haven't driven the Z so I'm going on opinion from a friend.
For TA, you have to brake a few times. 720 should be good for battles so you can regain some grip against your rivals but not the best for time attack run as you lose the speed on the straights. Plus, the timing has to change slightly since 760 & 740 rely on sliding round each corner
how did i set the power : handling ratio if my FD had done 25-30 chapter ? FD's weakness is its narrow torque that i feel sluggished every after cornering
Hmmm only thing I can think of is the vehicle size profile. The FD is heavier then the 86 and the 86 cannot block very well at all. So if a car is heavier then it would make sense it maybe a tiny bit sluggish at turning
740-760 is recommended for making use of the best of speed and handling. It is possible to do it on 830 and actually that would be a great test on using throttle control seeing as how slidey it is :)
When you know how to do it you can see the needle in your peripheral vision so without looking and hearing the revs means you can accurately judge how much power to put down :D
Give it some practice :D. First get the hang of controlling a turn with the throttle and when you get the hang of it you will breeze through corners :D
Haha you did? Yeah I am gaining footage still together. Me and a couple of guys are constructing a tutorial series that aims to cover as much in the game as we can, in order to help players with their racing :).
Dante, please tell me there are more 5dx cards in Australia. Here in the Philippines all the 5dx banapassports are sold out in all the arcades i know. And what arcade do you go to? I'm gonna go to Australia for the summer. Let's battle if we meet :)
Oh I'm sorry to hear that, I've never heard about banas running out. Yeah in Australia we have loads being sold and I race occasionally at City Amusements, Market City, Sydney. Word of warning though I maybe moving somewhere else within a couple of weeks.
Yes overall. For Time Attack your steering has to be calculated and smooth. Don't steer any more than you need to to keep your speed up. If you do Wangan Westbound or Eastbound this will become more noticeable because the speeds are much higher.
+TheGTAPhreak Ive never been asked that lol. Yes I do. Heel and toe isn't necessary with the mechanics of the game since, lets be honest. its highly unrealistic lol
+DanteDevilDan i'll give left foot braking a try next time I play! have been braking with my gas foot cos i just liked that slightly more "real" feel even tho yea its unrealistic
+TheGTAPhreak Its great technique, but only when the game has a 'simulated' feel rather than 'arcade'... 90% of the game is about high speed turning, no need to heel and toe. Hakone won't need it either but feel free to try and see what works for you :)
3 gear mostly. Whichever car you are in you would would to be from the second to last gear throughout most of the track. Only on the road that starts the last section for Inbound time attack is the part where it is best to use your last gear. I apologise I didn't cover it, it slipped my mind. I am in the process in making an updated version for all tracks
DanteDevilDan ow yeah... in you're video you put the gear in 2 then 3 then 4 what will happen if you just use gear 4 from the race start until the finish
Hmm. I would need to race one to find out but in my mind I would imagine to shift to 3rd gear and stick to it for most of it. But cars may vary (Like Stingrays and Hiace handle very different)
Hey bro, mind telling me if the Toyota 86 is any good for any game mode and how well it takes corners/accelerates? Really appreciate an answer, thanks!
Truthfully I haven't driven the GT86 yet and my Corvette ZR1 is currently getting dressed up slowly. ZR1 is a good car but I think its a car that is a little misguided at times because the nose is low, I find it quite easy to hit the front of the guardrail because I think at first I have enough room, when actually i don't. As for GT86, I haven't been in but I have raced a couple head to head and it looks quite solid on the road. After I dress up my Skyline R34 and Corvette ZR1 I will make a modern version of my AE86 with the GT :)
+gamevirus01 I have done one for Osaka on my channel in a Black/Purple RX-8 th-cam.com/video/PDLDqrvwf48/w-d-xo.html Firstly you have know what horsepower as that will correspond to when you have to turn and at what angle. If you are used to the size of your car you will know where the front is and along with that know how close you can be. If you are struggling to perfect your timing then you can always use reference points. They can be markings on the road or when you go past a pole. Or watch how others do it (or how not to do it), to be honest when I wasn't using trial and error to drive around a track I was carefully watching other drivers.
Is Hakone the most difficult course? What course is not as difficult as Hakone? If you can, list out all the courses by difficulty level, that will be much appreciated.
Thing is, I can't really because I cannot speak for all players of the game. Funny enough Hakone started as my least favourite... it was only when I forced myself to drive on it and practice that I enjoyed it more and more. Also you have to think of the perspective of how you see the course, whether its time attack or battling. For example, Wangan Westbound is easy on battle but is surprisingly difficult on time attack because every single tiny twitch of the wheel effects the outcome so much at the end.
+fancho123 Trust me you should have seen me first try it. It took about a good month practicing, 4 times a week at the arcade. It gets easy when you don't have to think about it as its all muscle memory. Practice makes perfect. I'm only too happy to share and hear people's styles :)
+fancho123 Hahaha, we all feel that. Its only intimidating because the rest of the tracks on Wangan are mostly high speed turns and are spread out giving you plenty of time to sharpen your turn. But with Hakone it happens so fast your brain at first may struggle to remember where to be at what time and what speed. Just try your best to memorise the turns and brake when needed to, don't try and aim to be quick, take little steps first before sprinting.... before you know it, you will be able to do it in your sleep :)
Hmm it’s not a recommended style as it limits precision and control of the wheel. It’s not necessary to have a hand on the shift at all times. I mean it’s not impossible and it can be pulled off, but it’s a different way and not worth going out of your way to learn ☺️.
Thank you all so much for the kind words. I've not made a tutorial like this before and I am thrilled its got the amount of views it has. Whats best is that if or whatever you learn on this video by the end you can apply most of it to any other racing games. BTW I’ll try all your tips when I do TA again.
after i watch this now I can play wmmt very well, before this i don't even know the best route is like that
It's actually a universal tutorial for cornering in all track/course.
If you could upload a HD WMMT gameplay video... that would be awesome.
Thats the idea :). Even getting through Hakone at a decent time will allow you to nail most other corners of other tracks, developing your driving skill even more :D.

DanteDevilDan im quite a starter in hakone before so my outbound time goes from the bad 2'43 to a 2'35 but normally i go around 2'38s so i consider myself lucky that time because i forced myself to use my ZR1 to the fifth gear in the middle part which usually i sucked.(Around 9:08 ~ 9:20)
Now the corner im saying maybe isn't correct because i did it accidentally but im pretty sure its 7:59 because i remember the tight left and the red striped road with the 'going up' type of corner.sadly i forgot my Inbound time but the bump really recovers my speed after the corner so i thought that its faster than before, maybe it is but as you said,it could affect the overall time and rhythm i guess.
Anyway thank you so much for replying and have a nice day
hey man i only started about 2 weeks ago already invested about $200+ i play at timezone burger king in town ;), i kinda picked up the advices u gave by watching the few timezone kings haha thanks for the vid it made everything clearer
That awkward moment when you where Hakone King at Wangan midnight 3 and start driving rubbish at 4 and 5. Shit I need to learn.
Mechanics of the game may have changed. I never played on 3 but I imagine if I switched to 3 back then I wouldn't be able to run it like I do on 4. Don't worry dude, practice makes perfect and you will be able to rip up those turns :)
Playing on 5DX+ and this really helps, especially since Hakone isn't my strong suit.
Im glad its helped dude. I was exactly the same when I started, I disliked it very much.
Wow..your skills are the best in hakone.I hope you have wmmt 5DX+ at NZ and I can shuttle your ghosts ^_^
You Earned A Sub Bro!
Congrat!😁😁
Aw wow thanks dude! :D :D
The rebound trick is harder than i thought, but its nice you could do that
So smooth when I can being like this
In that sharp curve in inbound you have to step the brake half and gas pedal to drift
3:00 I did that thing of steering just now but imperfect ofcourse because I'm new and I also did the thing in your other video about the pedal
This game looks like something I could dedicate some serious time into. If I do find it somewhere, then I'll try to remember this video since it taught me quite a few things about the game!
Do you play the game?
DanteDevilDan I wish :(
Luigian Krillberryson Where u from?
US (it's shadow if you've forgotten)
Luigian Krillberryson Oh yeah haha.
Well as far as I'm aware, WMT4 and 5 is only available between China and NZ (and neighbour countries). It sucks bad because its so much fun
I hope there's more courses coming out.Good job man.I learned a lot.
Thats great to hear man. I may do if I had access to the game lol :)
Im back racing again. Sydney Australia.
BEST VIDEO EVERRR!!! :D
nice tips. I'll apply it to hakone. thanks
Glad to hear it dude. Go rip up that track ;)
Amazing guide, it suits WMMT6 too
I hope i can drive as flawless as you
I’m flattered dude, but Im definitely not flawless.
In one of my newest videos I confessed that the videos are the result of numerous failed runs. Sometimes it took 2-10 runs to get the capture I wanted for the purpose of making a future video.
I’m confident you will improve dude, everyone has power to do so. Best to do it when you are focused and positive.
The rebound technique helps! Thanks a lot dude
I'm glad to hear that man! :D
I still suck at hakone but thanks to this i can at least destroy my friends at it
Ive seen you own crowns somewhere.. Either Queens street or Xtreme Glenfield. Cant remember. Good stuff man!
Thanks dude. Then was this?
Uh last year I think? I used to play at Queens street then lost my Bana Passport :/ Slowly getting back into it haha.
It seems you naturally got it handled dude. Im now back in my AE86 in Sydney, Australia. Who knows I may come across your ghost if I'm lucky
What did you mean by minor corrections (4:03)? And how and when should you apply these minor corrections when talking about the whole game meaning every map??
Hey Addicters6
Essentially yes, its a driving style so it can be used any map. Considering Hakone has more importance on corners you are likely to use it more on this track
Here is an example: Say you did a perfect turn on Hakone on the first run, but the second run you do the same corner but 3kph too fast in the apex. It would mean you will more than likely hit the wall on the exit. So to avoid this you would ease off the gas and turn away from the wall a little. Thats what I meant by minor corrections, I apologise if it caused some confusion :)
Give me a shout if you still aren't sure.
DanteDevilDan Thanks mate i get it now
Nice drawing on the turns.... anyway rhanks
Damn.. it's been 4 years already.
Lol, I feel old
Waiting for another tips and trick :D
Its tricky to think of more tips for the track, apart from highlighting key areas of killing speed for your rivals. If its driving style or techniques then those would be made on their own videos onto the Tutorial Series Playlist
Okay. I need more see another area track and practice
Im initial D fans too 😀
Nice Tips for players who play Wangan.
+Takieshi Ubana Thank you :)
If wangan midnight makes a episode about mt hakone race
Only takumi reaches the finish line
Akio got 2nd place cuz low skill at curvy roads
And others were ended up like akina
We just need takumi to run the mountain 50 times
Omg i remember this BGM from initialD3 arcade lol
Planning to get a Banaport card and take the Mazda RX-7 FC as my main car. Will try to master downhill in Hakone and be the fastest in Gunm- Hakone pass. Will the FC be the best car for downhill? Plus, how do you use the manual transmission? Thanks!
Panzer Ace
pros (FC):
good handling
cons:
low acceleration
but if you want the casual cars, all choice is okay. just choose one you liked and learn the behaviour. only five aspects of the car will be different each other: power, weight, handling, dimension and number of gears.
Been driving 2jz,and man it sucks at quick turns. It accelerates so fast its skids. Does it have to do with the car as well??
5:43 aight imma kansei dorifto
edit: Whoever is the driver.., he might be a fujiwara
nani ?! kansei dorifto ?!
dantedevildan the video do alot of progress for me right now i mastered the steering but im still training on turbo its okay to see turbo meter?,i always see the turbo cuz my eyes open see everything on display
How to see if player brakes or lets go of throttle gas?? Cus i cant tell if he is just letting go or braking
ur the type of guy that comes while a 600 hp kid is leveling up his car picks hakone and races the kid feelsbadman
Hmmm, I can't say I am that type of guy
thats good because i hate those guys that do that but i still smoke em in my 600 hp skyline
No problem brooo Thanks again! :D
When will you post wmmt videos again?
At 7:11 until the end of the zigzag track,Can i use a continuous steering to avoid bumping?
I got a 830 DG car, and semi-good at drifting; still need lots of practice. What HP should i use for Hakone? Is it a good idea to stick to a HP setup no matter the map? I feel i need practice with just one setup. It throws me off when i have to suddenly get used from a high grip car to a high speed one.
Magic 740-760hp is best for Hakone. You want to be able to corner with some slide plus have that power on the straights
Happy it helped dude. You should get a bana and get racing :)
DanteDevilDan i know i want it so bad thanks tho!
What if we hold and release the pedal quickly and repetitively?
Check out my video on throttle control, that should explain things better.
1:27 the gutter technique i call it
Just started playing this. The music in this game is nuts, I ended up turning it off lol
But... I choose throttle control over breaking in hakone. Also, is 720HP the best for hakone?
For TA, you have to brake a few times. 720 should be good for battles so you can regain some grip against your rivals but not the best for time attack run as you lose the speed on the straights. Plus, the timing has to change slightly since 760 & 740 rely on sliding round each corner
@@DanteDevilDan ah, understood. But I see others play 680HP and somehow manage to overtake me at times. Any tips?
Damn Skills and fast cars
how did i set the power : handling ratio if my FD had done 25-30 chapter ? FD's weakness is its narrow torque that i feel sluggished every after cornering
Hmmm only thing I can think of is the vehicle size profile. The FD is heavier then the 86 and the 86 cannot block very well at all. So if a car is heavier then it would make sense it maybe a tiny bit sluggish at turning
That reminds me I need to tune my evo
@Joey...
Good Idea. However even a 600BHP car is useful to give u enough time to learn the course in case you're not sure. Rip up that track dude ;)
I cant seem to get close to the apex, but instead I oversteer/understeer like hell.
is it okay to use 830 hp on this map or it is only on maximum 760 hp that can turns much faster than 830 hp???
740-760 is recommended for making use of the best of speed and handling. It is possible to do it on 830 and actually that would be a great test on using throttle control seeing as how slidey it is :)
7:04 0.5 bar on that corner can do it? That's insane!
When you know how to do it you can see the needle in your peripheral vision so without looking and hearing the revs means you can accurately judge how much power to put down :D
That's unbelievable! Nicely done!
Give it some practice :D. First get the hang of controlling a turn with the throttle and when you get the hang of it you will breeze through corners :D
Saw you at City Amusements, Sydney last week recording another TA run with your 86 on Hakone, another vid coming out soon? ;)
Haha you did? Yeah I am gaining footage still together. Me and a couple of guys are constructing a tutorial series that aims to cover as much in the game as we can, in order to help players with their racing :).
thx it improved my driving alot
Glad to hear that dude! :D
LOL im just about to do another tutorial huehuehuehueheuheuheu
+FkNSRS Go for it dude :)
Word of warning though I maybe moving somewhere else within a couple of weeks.
can you do hakone run with the viper? the last time i raced there, i bumped a lot
I do have a viper but not yet fully tuned. If I get some time then I'll give it a go
Hey dud im curious cuz in 1 card how many vehicles is allowed is it 1 or more
Is it true for the whole game for every map that the less you steer (either on a straightaway or a turn) the less speed you lose?
Yes overall. For Time Attack your steering has to be calculated and smooth. Don't steer any more than you need to to keep your speed up. If you do Wangan Westbound or Eastbound this will become more noticeable because the speeds are much higher.
Thank you, I really have a hard time is hakone even if I use throttle control,I think I need to practice my steering
Give it full on handling
And choose fwd type
Nice driving!! Just to ask something that's prolly already been asked before, but do u do left foot braking?
+TheGTAPhreak Ive never been asked that lol. Yes I do.
Heel and toe isn't necessary with the mechanics of the game since, lets be honest. its highly unrealistic lol
+DanteDevilDan i'll give left foot braking a try next time I play! have been braking with my gas foot cos i just liked that slightly more "real" feel even tho yea its unrealistic
+TheGTAPhreak Its great technique, but only when the game has a 'simulated' feel rather than 'arcade'... 90% of the game is about high speed turning, no need to heel and toe. Hakone won't need it either but feel free to try and see what works for you :)
dude what if I use a 4 speed car
3 gear mostly. Whichever car you are in you would would to be from the second to last gear throughout most of the track. Only on the road that starts the last section for Inbound time attack is the part where it is best to use your last gear.
I apologise I didn't cover it, it slipped my mind. I am in the process in making an updated version for all tracks
DanteDevilDan yes.... I could use my.... van like car
DanteDevilDan ow yeah...
in you're video you put the gear in 2 then 3 then 4
what will happen if you just use gear 4 from the race start until the finish
Hmm. I would need to race one to find out but in my mind I would imagine to shift to 3rd gear and stick to it for most of it. But cars may vary (Like Stingrays and Hiace handle very different)
DanteDevilDan how did you know that I use a hiace????
OK then.... stingray I'm coming
wow,thx for the tips.it help me a lot :D
Very glad it helped you out dude :)
wait, did you already reply my comment before?is it the same comment or not? X"D
lol Im not too sure. Maybe it disappeared haha
Thnx m8 helpful
NZ BOISSSS
Haha np. Miss NZ a lot
Hey bro, mind telling me if the Toyota 86 is any good for any game mode and how well it takes corners/accelerates? Really appreciate an answer, thanks!
Or do you think a corvette zr1 would be nicer?
Truthfully I haven't driven the GT86 yet and my Corvette ZR1 is currently getting dressed up slowly. ZR1 is a good car but I think its a car that is a little misguided at times because the nose is low, I find it quite easy to hit the front of the guardrail because I think at first I have enough room, when actually i don't.
As for GT86, I haven't been in but I have raced a couple head to head and it looks quite solid on the road. After I dress up my Skyline R34 and Corvette ZR1 I will make a modern version of my AE86 with the GT :)
+DanteDevilDan Sweet! Thanks man!!
is hakone the same in every version of wmmt?? we only have wmmt2 where i live.
Early versions have the Inbound AND Outbound together but later ones are seperate and unchanged
you should do one on osaka, i am running bnr32, the very first red turn always screw me up because I am entering at 310+
also any tips on how to time your turns? since you have to turn early on maximum tune to get the best speed out of every corners
+gamevirus01 I have done one for Osaka on my channel in a Black/Purple RX-8 th-cam.com/video/PDLDqrvwf48/w-d-xo.html
Firstly you have know what horsepower as that will correspond to when you have to turn and at what angle.
For example, Wangan Westbound is easy on battle but is surprisingly difficult on time attack because every single tiny twitch of the wheel effects the outcome so much at the end.
hakone is a difficult map but you just pass it easily :o
+fancho123 Trust me you should have seen me first try it. It took about a good month practicing, 4 times a week at the arcade. It gets easy when you don't have to think about it as its all muscle memory.
Practice makes perfect. I'm only too happy to share and hear people's styles :)
i just played on hakone yesterday for the first time and i just think like "holy shit this map is so difficult, wrong choice" XD
Just try your best to memorise the turns and brake when needed to, don't try and aim to be quick, take little steps first before sprinting.... before you know it, you will be able to do it in your sleep :)
okay :) i play hakone night mode and i feels like "oh no,i chooce the wrong mode.it's too dark"
+fancho123 Funny enough, some aspects of night racing makes it easier for some turns because some are lit up nicely but then again some aren't lol
Is this work for 6 gear car? Especially my Subaru WRC STi
Just lower it to 5th gear. Lol
And here I am, still playing with a stock Tureno for giggles ... #Sad :'(
The Mad Kitten power is not everything
Waoo this help me so muuuch~ thaanks xD
I have a question is it good to use single hand when racing?
Hmm it’s not a recommended style as it limits precision and control of the wheel. It’s not necessary to have a hand on the shift at all times. I mean it’s not impossible and it can be pulled off, but it’s a different way and not worth going out of your way to learn ☺️.
how bunta fujiwara would trained tak in 2018
