When I look at the Initial D footage I can clearly say this is an indeed Initial D game also when I look at the Wangan Midnight footage I can clearly say this is a Wangan Midnight game, they look good in their own ways.
Very interesting. I like the way cars are modelled a bit more in Initial D, but I really like some of the graphical effects in Wangan (such as the city in the background, falling leaves etc) but it's obvious that Wangan is a bit more colorful while Inital D a bit more muted in color. They both look good in their own ways though.

Now I can notice clearly that there are some differences between Maxi5DX+ And Initial D Zero the time remaining in Initial D 0 is somewhat faster while Maxi5DX+ Time Remaining is slow,In Maxi5DX+ Near the end of the course to avoid confusion The course in Maxi5DX+ was a bit extended while the finish line in Initial D Zero is near the toll booth.
Not relevant to the video but, feels like wangan for me is better if play solely on time attack and multiplayer is just a bumper car fest, no point of going 1st as you kept getting pushed around by other players, on top of that, npc cars combo train crash. Since wangan is a very high speed game, it felt so nice to play when there’s no player try to deliberately ruin your runs. Initial d games in general for me are more balanced for my taste, as it’s is still fun in time attack, but more fun in multiplayer. No matter how a player tries to ruin you, they will mostly lose speed due to mistakes, thus they become more eager and making even more mistakes just to catch up. Wmmt is full of straights. Depends on setup and the game hidden mechanic, the person behind will always catch up no matter what, even you have a better hp and speed and still getting catch up in a straight line and punt you into the wall or npc vehicles without a problem. If you are facing against ppl with heavy cars, most likely they are going to play ping pong. Other than that, wmmt is a great arcade racing game, it’s just the player base making me uncomfortable to play against.
As a old timer like myself, i do agree with what you said as i also don't like the playstyle now. I played WMMT for 14 years already and i can tell you that when i started out in MT2, the players base isn't like this. It was really friendly back then. And Wangan isn't all straight. There are technical course like C1,Yuesu,Kobe,Hiroshima,Hakone,Hakone(Taikan).
The physics arent necessarily that much realistic, as AE86s and R33s dont go over 800hp. But to each their own, both games are fun in their own aspects and i play them both with as much fun lmao

I'm not gonna deny that some of the later stage races were asspulls, but you are mistaken if you think initial d is just all about drifting.
What really sets the two games apart is their environment, atmosphere and the main purpose of both games. The roads in Initial D are tighter and dont give much breathing space, which worls as most vehicles in the game do not run beyond 250 at most. The color palette in Initial D is much more muted with more blues in most maps, which gives the sense of quietness and helps you focus a bit more. Night maps in Initial D are much darker which is accurate to the anime, being that most touge roads in Japan usually have few roadlamps to illuminate the road, or none at all, leaving you in complete darkness, aided by your headlights. And in general, Initial D focuses on your skill and reflexes. Decisive thinking and focus is the key to winning a race in the tight, twisting roads of Japan's mountainous roads. Wangan Midnight is the antithesis of all the aspects mentioned above. Many of the roads in the game are wider and longer which is pretty much telling you: "use the road, dont be afraid!" The color palette of the game is much more diverse and is more saturated, giving much of the game's environments more color and life. The only touge maps of Wangan Midnight i.e: Hakone and Mt. Taikan, have night maps fully illuminated at some points, despite Hakone being slightly much darker than Mt. Taikan. And while Initial D focuses on your skill on touge maps and drifting, Wangan Midnight focuses only on one thing: *speed.* None of that fancy schmancy drifting or whatever in this game, no. What matters and what helps you win is how fast you can really go in the many maps in the game. Push your car beyond the limit: you can go beyond 300km/h in Wangan Midnight.
Even though initial d's shading and lighting is better id go for wangan midnight maximum tune bc it seems more detailed and alive in a way less sponsor signs on the map
I don't understand why some people in the comments are comparing the speed. WMMT is a highway racing game people! Obviously the speed are going to be even more faster and the mountains were added for some added difficulty (Although in the manga there has been some mountain runs). Also, I believe it's just a waste of time if the devs are gonna make the speed somewhat realistic in WMMT lmao. It's already fine as it is.
since we dont have initial D zero here in the phillipines we mostly play wangan midnight5DX+ and yes we only have the DX+ versions of wangan midnights here no 1 2 or 4 version but still very good game

The best initial d game is Battle Gear 3. It has almost all the initial d cars, tracks and “characters” while having the most realistic driving model for an arcade game, But the most realistic initial d experience is in assetto corsa

箱根はイニシャルDでは初級用のコースであまりブレーキを使わずに走れる峠ですが、湾岸だとコントロールするのが難しい超上級者向けのコースになっていて、馬力が全く違いますから当然ですけど走りに大きな違いがありますよね。
見てて思ったことは湾岸の方が景色が少し明るいと思いましたね。
それと景色はイニシャルDは夏(だと思う)で湾岸は秋風景という事と、イニシャルDと比べると湾岸の方が車線幅が広いですよね

WMMT 5DX is fast but when you turn it's slowing down but ID Zero is so slow but when you turn or drifting it's still fast
