Man, I just re lived a memory. One time when i was younger, I had a little too much to drink this night. The next day, some friends talked me into going to Barton Springs. TBH, I've never been much of fan because I simply don't want to be that cold when swimming. But I can say without a shadow of doubt that Barton Springs is maybe the greatest hangover cure of all time.
AGREE with you Chet about the city of Austin, take each section one day at a time. I used to LIVE in Austin, the North, Northwest, Leander, South, Southwest, and the Westhills area, & downtown Central. I have "GREAT MEMORIES", and there is no other city like Austin. YES, I've also lived in Dallas, San Antonio, Temple, Georgetown, Kyle, and have traveled to West Texas, El Paso, Midland, Fort Worth, McAllen, Texas Gulf Coast (my favorite), and many other in between places in our big state. Love my state for so many various reasons. Keep going Chet, we "appreciate" you. 🤗🤠
OMG!! I LIVED ONLY 10 minutes from BROKE SPOKE C&W Dance hall/Bar. I LOVE THAT PLACE, I HAD GREAT TIMES THERE. I LOVED THAT PART OF AUSTIN. GREAT MEMORIES!! 😁🤗🥳💕💥

I know this just posted but many of those spots are long gone. Sad to see but what awesome to remember the good ol times.
Flashback to good days.

So sad to watch this episode. 😢 So many of these places are gone especially on SoCo and the skyline has changed so much.

The Gob Bluth impression was on point
It was very culturally relevant in 2010. 🤣
Growing up in Texas but haven't seen all these cities .it's nice to have someone creating a show for us like this. Thank you chet
And other crew members , top notch editing ,skits, audio and video quality
I miss that skyline.
I miss the skyline from the 70s, when Austin was affordable and not a Californian to be found…
@@cameraman655 ok boomer

Another awesome video
The rko bit still killin it
Love is all around no need to waste
You can never tell why don't you take it
YOU'RE GONNA MAKE IT AFTER ALL!!
I love Gordough's. I think they have a brick and morter shop now.
The brick & mortar closed now, back to just the trailer.
If you visit south Austin again, you gotta visit crowded barrel distillery and the wizard academy
Also, it's a shame Lucy is closed 😢
Torchy's "tacos" 😮
RIP Lucy's
We've lost a lot of great spots.
Tesoros and Lucys is now closed and it’s devastating 😭
Pork belly = bacon
Bacon = cured/smoked
Pork belly raw
Many places were closed due to ridiculously high leases.
😥
Austin is 20 percent residential 15 percent food and 65 percent ems.
LOL!!
I knew I watched this show long time ago I think 2015
sad some of these are here anymore.
It’s 2024 and Austin Skyline has changed.
C&W music is still allowed in Austin…?
This video is from around 2015. Most of the places covered are either not in business or have moved. Austinite.
This episode originally aired on PBS in June 2011, according to the description
if you had Bacon you had Pork Belly
Love dem Pork Bellies…😋
None of this is South Austin. This is Central Austin. South Austin starts at Ben White.
You mean Eastern California 😂; 8:55 I thought the Democrats were vegans 😅
Most are, few have acquired some common sense or married a Texan…
I like these videos. Great job Mr Gaystripper, I mean Daystripper. (Correction: Daytripper) 🙂
Sad to see that Austin turned into LA😵😵😵
Austin, no matter what direction is highly over-rated. Been there most of my life. It's been ruined by overdevelopment and glitz.
