And are you keeping this for yourself or selling it? Would it make a difference to do all the work to sell? Great fortitude in following thru with your vision . It works .am impressed. Good to keep it this neutral.
Oh yeah, definitely worth the effort. Those doors are stunning. Using a similar, but simpler design in the nightstands makes them coordinate with the dresser without competing. The dresser doors may have been time consuming, but you should do that design on another statement piece. Truly gorgeous work.
I was mesmerized watching you turn this ugly ducking into a beautiful swan! What an undertaking cutting all those pieces of wood and fitting them all together so nicely. I love all the amazing transformations you perform on your furniture pieces. You have a true talent!! Thanks for sharing it with us and I hope many more people discover your channel in the days to come!!🥰👏👏😃🩷
Ohhh my goodness, jaw dropping, WOW!!!! That looks absolutely amazing!!! It’s just so beautiful!!! You did such a fantastic job of creating a completely new personality to that dresser 😮 You are very talented girly!!!
That is a beautiful set. The pulls are great with all the work you did on the front! They really work well with the pattern on the front! Just like a period at the end of a sentence! You definitely gave this piece a new life! Great choices …and those wee little wood pieces just worked out quite well.
Those little wood pieces 🤪 I was sooo worried I wouldn’t be able to cut pieces small enough. Thank you so much for the kind feedback, and yes I love that hardware and may use it again on another piece. 😊
Hi Amy, I’m really enjoying your channel. I too am a woodworker so I appreciate your use of your woodworking skills to modify your pieces. I cringe a little when I see people “modifying” furniture with a jigsaw, but I understand we use what we have. I’m jealous that you have a hardwood lumber supplier nearby. I live down the coast from you near Naples and the closest place I’ve found is 100 miles away in Sarasota. It’s always beneficial to see others work when I know they have to deal with the Florida heat and humidity. I’m blessed to have an air conditioned garage like you appear to have but still, the humidity can be a factor. I hope you were not too impacted by Milton and I wish you continued success!
Thank you Thomas 🙂 I can’t believe you don’t have a closer lumber supplier!! Yes, my shop is air conditioned but the humidity does fluctuate and sometimes I pull a piece off my lumber shelf and it looks like a potato chip 😖
You did an exceptional job with this piece! I was shocked to see you have less than 2k subs but I wouldn't expect that to last too much longer with the quality of your work, if you stay as dedicated to the finished product as you did with this one you will go viral in no time. Great luck on your journey!
Your courage surpasses mine! No words! Except maybe miraculously beautiful and beyond elegant. Thank you for all the time you shared to teach us. You got it goin ON! 💜
I sure hope you got enough money when you sold this. This looks better than high end dressers in general. Amazing work. Just beautiful!! Im envious of your talent!!
Oh my goodness….that is one high end piece. Your idea turned out amazing. This is one of a kind…I would have a hard time selling it. Take lots of pictures before you part with it. Soooooo beautiful. Linda Beals.
This is amazing!!! I sure hope you get a handsome profit on those pieces! All that work and hours spent should come in at a high price! Nicest set I’ve ever seen and very unique!!!
Thank you so much! 😊 It did sell and was delivered to its forever home. I should have included a link to the TH-cam video so they could see what all went into it!! 🤣
Wow it looks absolutely stunning! To have the imagination and know how to pull off a pattern like that on the door fronts showcases your amazing talent! Quick question, did you paint wash the top of the dresser prior to the top coat?
😭 Thank you so much!! Yes I did use a paint wash on the top and base but didn’t film it 🤣 so it’s not in the video. I used Fusion Mineral Paint in color Algonquin. My ratio is usually 3:1 water to paint.
@@rescuedbyamyThat's great! Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Again, beautiful job and amazing creativity! I look forward to your next video! ❤
The doors look gorgeous, so in that sense it was worth it. If you are selling it, then it depends on what you can get for it. But, I do think it will sell quicker because of the design.
I love the neutral color! Your design is beautiful! People could probably achieve that look for less if they’re going to paint it by using poplar for the whole design. Personally, I like the grain of the oak. The base was also beautiful! I do feel like it would have elevated the look a little if you had not painted the hinges.
Thank you! Agree with you on the hinges. I’m still trying to figure out how to tape them off (the tape never stays put because of how the hinges move) because I try to avoid removing doors whenever possible. They never go back on the same way and it’s soooo hard to get them to hang straight. Definitely an area to improve upon. 👍
@ It’s SO hard to get the hinges back on where the doors work properly!!! I love all your work and have subscribed and am currently binging all your videos and shorts. Lol Thanks for the links to the table saw safety videos. They are very good!!
Why on earth would you do all that complicated woodwork if you’re just going to paint it, you could’ve just found plastic decorative panels somewhere, glued them on and painted over them. Same difference. It looks OK but not worth the effort 🤷🏻♀️
I wouldn’t want to add plastic onto a wood piece, but I could’ve saved some time and done a simpler design. But my goal isn’t necessarily to save time or be efficient (although it’s nice when that happens too!). I enjoy a creative challenge, and also try to enjoy the process even if it has some rough spots. 💛
You found my Kryptonite 😆😆 Maybe I’ll do a whole video about my dilemma with hinges. Too much to unpack here, but just know that the process I use when I paint them ensures the paint does adhere long-term under daily use. And I know this for sure because I have pieces in my own home with painted hinges.
I love your workshop...a dream to make magic happen...love the end result of the piece...HATE the annoying repetitive music in the background...that ruined the enjoyment of watching the video...and the speedy gonzalez speed of the video...u slow down in parts that are not that important and go super fast on the parts that is a teaching invested on...go and figure that one out? LOLOL
Thanks for the feedback, you can always mute the audio and turn on Subtitles if you’d like? And yes, I’m still figuring out what parts to speed up and what parts to show in real time. 😅😅
@@rescuedbyamy yes, i know that i can mute the audio but what is the fun of watching a video if one can not hear what u are saying?? moreover, while u are reading u can not see what u are doing...so u watch what u are doing and forget the explanation or read the explanation and do not watch the procedure!! can not be done at the same time.
A masterpiece! Looks like furniture from a Designer Showroom!
Thank you!! It was a labor of love for sure!

This one was sold. But I do have my eye out for another one for my own home.
Oh yeah, definitely worth the effort. Those doors are stunning. Using a similar, but simpler design in the nightstands makes them coordinate with the dresser without competing. I love the door design. Very geometrical and modern.

WOW❤!!! THE TRANSFORMATION IS BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you 😊
Wow, it was worth it. The doors look really good. You did a fantastic job.
Thanks so much! 😊
Wow!! Wow!! Wow!! Breathtaking!! I wish it was mine!
Aww thank you!! I did think about keeping it for myself but it was a little too long for my space.
Wow! You went above and beyond and your hard work was worth it. This is amazing!

You made an ugly piece stunning, that's art and craftsmanship! Bravo! ♥
🥹🥹 thank you!
I think it was worth it I've been looking for one of those for years and that is gorgeous
Thanks so much!!
It’s gorgeous!! Wow. What a new life you’ve given this gal. I have the exact matching highboy in my storage!!
Could you imagine me trying to do the dresser AND highboy 🤪🤪 The video would have been 2 hours long 😂

Thank you so much! I did consider keeping it, but it was just a little bit too big for the space in my house 😫
Very Art Deco, certainly very different, and a good quality piece of furniture
Yes! The older pieces are such good quality, sometimes they just need an update.
That is amazing! You’re a true artist.
I love the new makeover.
Thank you for the kind words 🥰

Doubts…you and me both! 🤪 Thank you!
Wow that’s beautiful great job. Well worth the time and back ache I’m sure. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching 🥰
As with fashion, the 70s had lots of questionable furniture designs. Great job making this into a lovely piece.
Thank you! 😊 I’m sure it looked ok in the 70s, but it was due for an update.
No, “New Modern” have questionable Tacky design…..
WOW! Outstanding!
Thank you very much! 🙂
Nice set up. Awesome transformation.
Thanks!
This is beautiful! Well worth the time!
Thanks! My back has recovered 😅

It’s gorgeous! If you don’t mind me asking, how much did you spend on wood for the doors?
Thank you! I think it was about $60, and most of that was the Oak.

Aww thank you!! 😊
Why do you use beautiful wood and then paint it?
Great question!! I discuss that at about the 12:50 mark 👍
Pausing at 11:30 to say...
Are you Doing Penance? 😂
Probably 😂😂
