Wow!!!! Can’t believe I went to see that match on my 23rd birthday. I’m 47 now. Crazy. Was it really that long ago that Gazza and Laudrup were ripping teams apart. It only feels like that match happened a couple of years ago. What a performance that was. I can remember it being absolutely baltic that day.
First ever Rangers game I went to. My Dad grew up in Hamilton and we were over from Australia on holiday to see family. We sat behind the goals at one end. Best atmosphere and Rangers play was perfection. I learned a lot about a lot of things that day as a 14 year old kid listening to the crowd😂😂😂😂. One of my most fondest childhood memories. FOLLOW FOLLOW. Bears for life.
durie was an underrated player. scored a lot of goals but was never flashy. but when gazza and laudrup were on song together, rangers were tremendous to watch
I wonder what Jim Leighton was saying to the ref as they went off at half time. I bet it was "You can customise your fighter in the new Tekken game and I turned Paul Phoenix into Gordon Durie."
Always loved Leighton getting stuffed never like the guy, we demolished Hibs that day, another win against them today and i''m happy mon the teddy bears
Sheesh, where do they find a ref like that? Someone must have put a stick up his behind that has never been removed. Thanks to Gazza for giving me and everyone who watched this a good laugh. He was simply irrespressible, and the authority figures couldn't bear it. I wonder what the rationale for giving Gazza the yellow card was--unsportsmanlike conduct (dissing the ref) or what?
I was at this game 😆 never forget it was the coldest day of the year and the only game played in Scotland that day due to the weather it was fuckin Baltic btw that Gazza incident is the worst refereeing decision ive ever seen, so fucking childish 😞 WATP 💙🔴⚪🔵🙌
The truth behind Gazza and that yellow card. Gazza being Gazza 'pickpocketed' the ref a minute earlier sneakily lifting it out of his back pocket before Rangers broke up the park. Gazza is running into the box with the card in his left hand. He decided to give the ref it back after missing his chance for a goal, he swaps it into his right hand...the ref doesn't realise it was his card, he thought it was something else a piece of yellow paper or something...you can see the dopey ref reaching to his back pocket for the card that isn't there before booking Gazza with the card he handed him.
Absolutely deserved the yellow. Can't show the ref that much disrespect. You take card back to the ref. Hand it over. Just simple. But don't go and show this action towards someone's father and call it humor.

as a Celtic supporter what a player he was i only hope the best for him !!!
Nice one Chris, class comment
Gazza books the ref what a legend
that ref was bullied as a boy, you can bet
It looked like even a couple of Hibs players were arguing against Gazza's yellow card.
the most ridiculous yellow card ever
Juke box was a very under rated player at Rangers, scored some great goals and worked his nads off for the team
as he did with super chelsea too, great front two we had...dixon/durie
That ref was a fanny.
Jesus, that Gazza goal gave me the goosebumps. I was pretty young in those days, i really didnt realise how good we really were! fantastic
You mean you didn't realise how brilliant GAZZA really was
The fans cheering Gough's wayward shot at 4:50 is a demonstration of how much we enjoyed those years.

fair play to the hibs boy even saying to the ref it was a joke
durie was an underrated player. scored a lot of goals but was never flashy. but when gazza and laudrup were on song together, rangers were tremendous to watch
Durie didn't score much for a striker

the part referenced in the title starts at 2:27
gazza = legend
Can say that again
this was the first rangers game I was ever at, what a game
Was at that game brings back memory's
Did that referee ever get another game?
Obviously no sense of humour at all!
Billy Livingston I know kids who would laugh at that that ref needs to get a grip mate
That ref was definitely bullied as a kid
that hattrick for 8 in a row vs Aberdeen was brilliant
Ref obviously a Celtic fan..
I loved jukebox when he was at rangers, one of the diehards!
His first senior match commentator says at the start of this video,he should of been sent back to sunday league after the gazza yellow
@pbain66737
i totally agree with you now, i grew up with these players and when i look at the spl now, it really makes you realise how lucky we were!
whats the date of when this game took place?
I know the old lad that told me he had that refs sweeties at school
The ref must have felt embarrased or did not like him.
Anyone know the commentators name?
We Are The People
Yes and the rest are non people

wasnt at the game, but i remember listening to it on the radio. I'm such an old basturd.
the thing from these days that I liked, players where honest. If the ref made a howler even the other teams players let him know about it.
I think the ref regretted that as soon as he did it. Total sense of humour fail! Great Gazza goal for 4-0.
why do the romans watch our videos, could they be missing us, the true Christians.
Jock Brown called it correct
Likesay
The ref is such a dummy that he looked in his pocket for the card first. 😆
the ref would have been even more embarrassed if when we went to give someone a yellow he had to go look for it
Just goes to show that the referees weren't keen on us back then either...🙄
Bloody ref! Anything for having that false sense of power, eh?
Denied a stonewall penalty at ibrox there's a shock
big travelling support from hibs...
Booked for retrieving your card after you dropped it have a sense of humour ref will you?
first rangers game when i was wee ha
baltic!!!!
Didnt realise Gazza kissed the badge.
sums up all referees. No wonder no one respects them.

The gap is just too huge. Too easy to play in Scottish league
2-0 7-0 4-1 wins over hibs that season

the ref dropped the card not pick pocketed

Bet you're the life and soul of the party
ref is a pape in disguise
what a plonker of a ref
Douglas "all referees are wankers" Smith.
See the rat catchers are still breathing
Celtic, yes I know.
this was my very first rangers game, wanker referee.
What a jobsworth cnut!!! Surely that ref is now a traffic warden somewhere
Back when EBT Was the in thing oh how the mighty have fallen
