I'm 33 years old now, but was 16 at the time of this. Looking back, it's unbelievable to think Paul Gascoigne played for Rangers. The thing that a lot of people, especially down south, underestimate is that Rangers bringing Gascoigne back from Italy and getting him back to full fitness gave England back 'the old Gazza' at Euro 96 weeks after this. It would be nice if the English ever acknowledge that Rangers & Scottish football brought Gascoigne back to his best after years in Italian exile.
15,000 a week he was on at rangers the English teams hardly payed much more a week was a great move, Man U fans sayn gazza would never got in there side he was the best player Euro 96 fact is Scottish football was not as bad as they think then
Great player but should have tested himself against better players . These Aberdeen players are shyte . This wasn't the worst team by far . Gasgoigne too good for Scottish football . He should have went to Spain .
As a Celtic fan i've got to admit that this was the best show by any player that ive seen in Scotland. His 1st was with his right foot his 2nd was with his left foot and even his penalty was clinical..What a player!!!

What a legend. His run and goal from inside aberdeens half was outstanding i will never forget that goal. One of the best players ever to pull on a gers strip. No surrender paul watp
The hairs are going up on the back of my neck watching this, not even a rangers fan or any team fan,i just can't help appreciating pure talent when i see it,pure magic!! It's the way he keeps his balance when surrounded by people and running past them.
This is back when football was football. Look at the proper tackles going in from McCall, and also look at the Aberdeen defenders trying to keep up with Gazza but he beat them fair and square. Nowadays someone would simply foul him and take the yellow card.
The most naturally talented footballer Ive ever seen. Id give my right arm to have scorerd that goal in euro 96. He deserved more support off the pitch, too many people have taken advantage of him
English here and to be honest always favoured Celtic over Rangers but loved watching the Rangers team with Gazza in it, great football to watch. Britain greatest footballer since George Best , who was the greatest player ever
I was a young lad, this was one of my fondest memories as that young lad watching this amazing team. You could see how much that team loved playing with Gazza around. It was complete togetherness. Miss these times.
Fulham Fan. Imagine if Gazza had gone to Manchester United and not Spurs in 1990. God... Ferguson would have taken that plater to the highest highest of highs.
I will always remember the day he signed ...: I was working in goven , and was sent to get the lunch order from the burger van .... on my way back I was nearly wiped out by a 4x4 as went to cross the road , I ran back , soup and tea everywhere and puffing like an asthmatic , the guys were say “the fuck is up with you”? I replied Gazza and they all started laughing, just at that point there was an announcement on radio Clyde in the van .... breaking news paul gasgoine is being paraded at ibrox as the latest signing for rangers ! Still can’t believe we had him as a player , like I still can’t believe we had the De Bore’s and now Defoe 55 is coming ...... geez it , WATP 🏆

Gazza along with a very few footballers (like messi) had the ability to run at defenders from half way, head on and get something out of it… it was magical watching him control games and create goals… also scored some
Fucking class the man came to Glasgow and half the population dyed there hair bright blonde. Hope he can defeat his daemons he deserves peace in his life
I was behind the goal Copeland rd end and watched his goals with delight didn’t even panic when we went one behind, looking hard to see if I can see myself but the iPad isn’t sharp enough only joking how could you see yourself in that sea of blue, what a day final home match of the season gazza and laudrup purring along
The thing is about gazza and lazio back in 1992 , italian league at that time was the best league in the world better than our EPL and your SPL, so you can forgive him for playing with the best players and the money. Gazza took the piss in Italy he was over weight, drank a lot and the italian defenders battered him and even broke his leg. He of course fell out of favour with the coaches at lazio the time of his departure, i respect rangers for getting him back to his best in time for euro 1996.
PS....While he was getting hunted oota Heraghtys his daughters were dancing on the tables in McNees Showbar at eglinton toll to the thumping beat of the Blarney Pilgrims....the irony of it😄😄😄

PlaneManShip was against Hearts in a cup game at Celtic park as Hampden was getting a refurb... and yes he went to the celtics boardroom, had a brandy and came out and scored a double
The 3 greatest goals I’ve seen with my own eyes. El Diego against England, Aguero against QPR and Gazza’s second goal against Aberdeen that day. Absolute legend of a player.
