Wow Meredith, what a great video and a sincere look into your 'real'! Loved all the happy and beautiful moments you showed, as usual ... the pool time with LB was great and refreshing to see. And the hard job of working the cows for 3 long hot days made me wish I could come help y'all! But your discussions of the realities, uncertainties, gambles, and worries of cattle ranching in these worrying and uncertain times is what really stuck with me about your 'reality' in this video. In central Alabama, the meat shelves in grocery stores are still often understocked (or empty), due (I assume) to people still hoarding all the meat they can get because of fears of what this damn Covid virus may bring - it's getting worse, not better here. At first glance, one would think that cattle farmers should be getting top prices for all the beef you can sell right now. But in reality I suppose what it really means is that all the beef producers are flooding the market and actually driving the prices down (just a guess from a non farmer). Plus, from what I've read, the big slaughterhouses have been hit hard by the virus, causing them to be under staffed and unable to process the amount of meat they normally would. My assumptions may be completely wrong, not being a cattleman, but, whatever the reason, I can certainly understand your concerns about your best course for what to do with your cattle. As you've said before, I know your cattle and beef sales are your yearly paycheck and I know that with Lawrence's experience, together ya'll will make the best decisions possible under the circumstances. Here's hoping and praying that all works out well for you - hope you guys do real well at the Lynchburg sale and all future sales. Sorry for such a long comment but I really care about you folks and can't help being concerned when I see and hear that uncertainty in your sweet voice. I love this channel and hope it makes you a million bucks!
I remember electric fence issues because of the weeds. I remember one very wet morning me and my brother came home from town with feed and saw that the fence box was unplugged. What we didn't know was that my dad was cutting thistles and the worst part was my dad had a hook for a right hand. He had the fence in his hook when my brother plugged the electric fence back in. We heard my dad scream from about a 1/2 mile away. We ran away and we never fessed up on who plugged in the fence. Love this channel
Daniel Lachowitzer we had a very similar thing happen on our farm but my dad didn’t get mad at us because he didn’t put the service tag on the transformer box.

Watching Lawrence in the pool with the kiddos was the best!!!!!! I grew up in Northern Wisconsin born and breed around the logging and trucking business. My parents worked hard to provide and put food on the table in a up and down logging industry that seemed to slowly weed out the little guy or made it very hard to compete kinda like farming. To me this world is a real head scratcher right now and most days down right depressing, but watching your videos puts a smile on my face especially when Lawrence gives his thoughts :-) Thank You Thank You for being a farmer and feeding America while teaching your kids hard work along the way. If I ever win the lottery I'm gonna hunt you guys down and build Lawrence a big shop and buy you all brand new equipment!!!!! God Bless

Hi Meredith. Good to see you all were not harmed by quakes. It seems your cattle are pretty quiet and not a total headache to yard and tag. My old Grandad would walk through cattle and talk to them and absolutely hated anyone upsetting his animals. Lawrence does a great job calling them. Best regards from Australia 🇦🇺

North Carolina has averaged 1 earthquake per year since 1931. Your cows are looking good. Our grass has suffered this year due to the lack of rain, but our calves are still doing well.
