  • This week we took a group of calves to market, got less than we'd have liked, and Lawrence leveled some land in-between rain showers. Or tried to. :) As always, thank you for being here! We will try to do more table talk soon and answer more questions you have. Feel free to drop them in the comments. Until next time, Farm Hard, Live Well, Stay Safe! Best, The Bernards

I find it quite disturbing that beef prices have skyrocketed in the store but those who raise the beef are seeing a decline in what they get for raising and doing all the hard work!!. Its absolutely Disgusting!!

It's terrible how little the producer is being paid for raising cattle when beef prices are at all time highs to the consumer. Pretty much the same way with all agricultural products the producer is paid for today. Just a 5-cent drop per pound makes the difference between eking out a small profit of $50 per head. But, this beautiful farm wife featured here is still able to keep her pretty smile. I pray everyone who watches this channel encourages their friends to watch it also, as I want her to get to 100K subscribers to help keep her smiling antics coming! If you haven't subscribed to this channel, please do and help her and her family out!

Out here in the SW we call that tool a culti-packer. It's usually used right before planting to break the clods and level, but mainly to firm the seedbed. Makes your drill plant much more even, for a better stand.

You're okay with multi-millionaire athletes or NASCAR or rodeo or PGA or colleges (or whatever sport or entertainment that you watch) taking money to use or wear products, and either you or your kids probably have some type of logo clothing that you actually paid a premium for - which means rather than the company paying you to advertise their product, you actually paid them - but you're triggered by this family thanking a company for a pair of boots that they got for free.

Your weather at the moment is so like ours in Ireland, - swelteringly humid, dry in one place and thunder shower flooding a mile away.
We call the disker the disc harrow. Your neighbour’s leveller is designed to drive down small rocks also. The going was a little too sticky alright. Better to wait.

Texas here, raised on Helmans. Nasty stuff, didn't like mayo till I tried dukes. Amazing taste and smooth, creamy texture.

Y’all embody what makes this country run. Family, hard work, dedication. If anybody ever wants to know about hard work, they need to follow a farmer. Y’all are awesome and I appreciate the effort it takes to put these videos together for all of us! Big hearts from Texas!

I’ve been wearing those Ariat work hogs for 5 years. I buy a new pair every year and they are the most comfortable work boots I’ve ever worn. Been an electrician for 23 years and I’ve worn every brand there is.

Could be crawdads. At one of the places I used to live there were tons of them digging holes like that. They will start piling mud around it to keep predators out. The place used to be wetlands. Since that place is close to a creek, it could be a possibility

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures. Still think farmers need to figure out how to do freezer beef direct to your audience. Stay safe, wishing you and your family the best.

Unfortunately gonna be a lot of “taking a loss” in pretty much all aspects of commodity agriculture this year. Right now there’s not much else to do but work hard and trust God to provide. I don’t know how those without faith do it, right now my faith is all I have to hold on to. Our calves sell Monday on the Superior Livestock video sale, we’re hope they’ll bring $1000 per head. We’ll have to wait and see. In Indiana we call the leveler thingamagiggy a cultimulcher.

Love your videos! So sorry that you all didn't get the profits that you were hoping for with your beautiful bulls! So happy that Lawrence got a fancy new hat and boots! So sorry that the weather doesn't seem to want to cooperate, but that is real life farming. You are so good at being optimistic (very hard to keep it up sometimes)...don't ever change! You all make a great team!🇺🇸😊🇺🇸

Life on the farm is always different everyday... and Lawrence is all about the farm everyday... He rolls with the punches and keeps on keeping on! And as the farmers wife, so do you... You're good support. The kids are good support.
