  • This is a vlog of my visit to Cat Tien Naional Park in southern Vietnam from my trip to Vietnam in March of 2018. The park is amazing, with gorgeous views, exotic wildlife, and immense biodiversity. I highly suggest that you go to Cat Tien if you are a birder. Some of the wildlife I saw was Great Hornbill, White-rumped Shama, Siamese Firebacks, Long-tailed Macaque, and crocodiles. I saw all this wildlife while walking and biking around the park on my own and also while on a birding tour with an excellent bird guide named Trong.
Hopefully after watching this video you will be inspired to travel to Vietnam and come to Cat Tien. Vietnam in general is an amazing place for travel for its cheap prices and rich culture, but for a wildlife fanatic it is especially interesting because of the diversity of tropical animals you can see. Throughout the video, I give tips on how to enhance your experience while looking for wildlife at Cat Tien, so be sure to watch until the end!
This channel is for people of all ages who are passionate about exploring nature, viewing wildlife, and learning about the environment. My name is Eddie and I'm a 28-year-old wildlife biologist from California. I have an MSc in Ecology and have been to four continents to seek and study wildlife. I hope to inspire naturalists by providing content that everyday people can use to enhance their experience observing nature in the field. Nature activities I cover are birdwatching, herping, wildlife photography, snorkeling/scuba diving, hiking, ecotourism-travel, and much more. This includes app and gear reviews, tips for spotting and identifying wildlife, travel guides for wildlife tourism, and fun lessons about natural history, ecology, and conservation. Whether you travel across the world or step into your own backyard, exploring nature is always an adventure, so subscribe to immerse yourself in Adventure Education!

Awww awesome nature. We also my enjoyed my stay in Nam Cat Tien NP very much. We booked our Vietnam Wildlife Tour with Vietnam Eco-Tours and my birding expert Luc Nguyen showed us a lot of bird species. We even got the chance to see the black shanked black langurs and other mammals. It was a really great experience ❤

What a beautiful park! It is wonderful to see that the jungle has recovered to this level from the ravages of the Vietnam Conflict. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much for a great video, I was pleased to see the video made well and interesting. Please, maybe there is a possibility to get a link or an explanation of how to get there, on which bus you drove, how you got to the person with the motorcycle, and whether you booked a room in advance and if so maybe a link to the site or something similar. Intend to arrive in Vietnam in October 2019. Thank you very much anyway for the good work you did.

Hi, awesome video. I'm going there in Aug 2022, and I want to visit the bird tower. I see that you biked there. Is it after Crocodile Lake? Would appreciate some help on the directions to reach there. Thanks.

the bird tower is not near crocodile lake. you can bike to the bird tower. you could also maybe bike to crocodile lake but it is farther away, you probably want to take a jeep there

you should go by bike from ho chi minh city to cat tien national park, it's better and more fun than going by oto, i live in ho chi minh city and have 7 times travelling to cat tien national park from 2017-now, i know clearly good about that, it even makes you safe your money

Great tips and interesting facts! Do you think is one of the best spots for herping in SE Asia or there might be others which are better (e.g. Khao yai) ?

Are there any orangutans or Tigers in Vietnam? I’ve heard vets speak of seeing both while in the jungles of Vietnam and Southern Cambodia.

most wildlife went extinct thanks to monsanto and the u.s government. Vietnam today ranks 5th place in biodiversity of the world. Southeast Asia has the richest biodiversity concentration in the world.
