Welcome back to the Toy Federation TH-cam channel! In this thrilling episode, join Ryan from Toy Federation and Tony from Knowhere Toys as they embark on an unforgettable toy hunting adventure at the renowned Toylanta Room Trade! Known for its treasure trove of vintage and rare collectibles, Toylanta is a paradise for toy enthusiasts and collectors alike.
Simpsons Action Figures Prototypes
Our hunt begins with an incredible find - prototypes of The Simpsons action figures! The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening, premiered as a series of shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show in 1987 before becoming a full-fledged series in 1989. These figures, produced by Playmates Toys in the early '90s, capture the essence of Springfield’s beloved characters. The prototypes Ryan and Tony discover provide a rare glimpse into the design and development process, showcasing early concepts and ideas that eventually evolved into the iconic figures fans cherish today.
Ninja Turtles Prototypes
Next up, our dynamic duo stumbles upon prototypes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) action figures. Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted as a comic book series in 1984 before exploding into popular culture with the 1987 animated series. Playmates Toys launched the first line of TMNT action figures in 1988, sparking a toy craze that continues to this day. These prototypes represent the early stages of figure development, highlighting the intricate details and craftsmanship that go into creating these heroes in a half shell.
G.I. Joe
As they navigate the bustling trade rooms, Ryan and Tony find themselves amidst a collection of vintage G.I. Joe figures. Introduced by Hasbro in 1964, G.I. Joe was the world’s first action figure, paving the way for the toy industry. Initially an 11.5-inch military-themed figure, G.I. Joe evolved in the 1980s into the 3.75-inch format with the highly successful "G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero" line, accompanied by an animated series and comic books. The vintage figures discovered here represent a pivotal moment in toy history, marking the transition from dolls to action figures for boys.
Star Wars
The excitement continues as they uncover a treasure trove of vintage Star Wars action figures. Released by Kenner in 1978, following the unprecedented success of George Lucas’s 1977 film "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope," these figures revolutionized the toy industry. The original 3.75-inch line included iconic characters like Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, and Princess Leia, setting the standard for movie-related toys. Ryan and Tony’s find includes several rare and highly sought-after figures, each with its own story and place in the expansive Star Wars universe.
Other Vintage Toys
The adventure doesn’t stop there! Ryan and Tony encounter a variety of other vintage toys, from classic 1980s lines like He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to lesser-known gems like M.A.S.K. and SilverHawks. Each toy they find brings back waves of nostalgia and childhood memories, reminding us of the joy these cherished items brought to our lives.

Who likes our room trade videos?
Reminds me of the scene in Taxi Driver, when Deniro is shopping for guns! 😂
One of the best parts of the vids
Like kids in a candy shop.Doesnt get any better.
I love it all. When I discovered this channel, I binge watched it all in one night. I love the variety.
Like? Nah...I LOVE these videos!
I had visions of a bunch of FBI agents in the hotel room next door crowded around a screen, clutching their ear pieces shouting “Get him to say it, we need him to say it out loud! Get him to confirm the deal!!” 😂😂
Felt that way
I don’t know what I like, but that little moment where one looks at a toy with a coffee in his hand and then his buddy starts holding the coffee without anyone needing to ask. That is the kind of seamless cooperation that makes a country great.
Half expecting OJ busting in to get his stuff back
I’m not a collector nore do I understand half the stuff you guys talk about but I just love watching your videos,
Interesting. I see a lot of comments like this on his channel and it’s because real production can’t make real shows, movies etc! Toy world is definitely fun and interesting!
Notice how they take turns wearing sleeveless hoodies. If they both wore them simultaneously, their power level would be unstoppable.
Good morning my federation family!! This is what I wake up for each Saturday 😊
Good morning!
I said this on live other day but when your back at shop we NEED more of Devon!!😄
The best part of waking up is Toy Federation in my Cup 😂
“Federation”(Folgers)
This and the pod are becoming my favorite part of Saturdays.
Love it!
When I saw your video from last week about Toylanta I instantly got hyped to see if there was any room trade stuff in the video but little did I know you had a whole 20 minute video dedicated to the room trades in the vault! I love seeing this part of buying toys.
On one of the podcasts, Ryan uses the term "plastic crack dealer". When I see this vid where there's big money deals going down in hotel rooms, I totally get what he means
I'm glad I commented on the last video about the missing room trades, parking lot deals etc.
I LOVE this stuff and clearly everyone else does too lol
You guys haven't put a bad video out, don't change a thing!
Just finished the video and this one was a gem because we finally learned more about the prints, blueprints, diagrams and production runs.
As a non toy collector, like a LOT of us are who watch your videos, this was really fun! They've been in videos before but it was nice getting the info on them.
My only complaint is that the videos aren't long enough : )
I could easily watch an hour of this every week.
You guys are doing the devil’s work. I started watching your videos and have recently bought 3 Joes and 2 turtles.
That guy is a PHENOMENAL Artist. That TMNT Proof with the colors, is just beautiful. Would love to buy a piece from him
Wish I could have been there to see the boxed G1 collection. Sounded huge.
Hi, I’m the guy who had/sold the G1 collection, it killed me to have to let them go after holding onto them for 40 years…I still have a storage unit full of hundreds of other toys and action figures from the 80s/90s/2000s, pop culture and movie stuff, too…I think I still have some Beast Wars figures in there, too, just trying to decide the best way to start selling off all this stuff…
Damn I love this channel. It seems pretty hard to find the fine variation of knowledgeable buyer and realistic sellers. It helps that everyone seems to know that being respectful to each other.
Another great Saturday morning! I loved learning more about the unique production art pieces. Crazy cool and amazing that guy was able to get so much of it. Heading to a toy show here in 2 hours. So much fun!
There's a guy In one the 3d print groups I follow don't recall what one it was but he recreated the small soldiers and made them motorized and created packaging for them to be stored in
My favorite moment is at 18:50 where Ryan offhandedly mentions that since he wasn't re-selling it and it's going to his personal collection; he paid what he thought was a fair market price that the guy was asking for. In the end, he's just a regular collector like the rest of us.
That Toxic Crusader art....😮 my God...I am not a collector, I am an artist (I appreciate the line of toys, but it was after my time of toys)
The art is where it's at!!!! I am actually drawing animations while I listen to this video ❤
Awesome seeing you’ll at Joefest 🤘
I've always found your videos calming and very informative
Hotel room toy deals look dodgy as, haha. Shout-out to Joe Esposito. His anthem made it a classic montage...
Why this channel does not have more subscribers is beyond me. Best show on yt. If I worked at Netflix, I’d be on the phone! ❤
Someday, i gotta hit up a toy show. They look like alot of fun.
They are!
Even if you don’t buy anything it’s a ton of fun
I don't collect toys of any kind but I respect the hobby and have fallen in love with this channel .Every video is so entertaining seeing all the cool stuff also Ryan is such a likeable guy. Makes my day when there's a new video from toy federation.
Another great show walk about
Liked how Ryan respectful was and stepped aside when the two guys were conducting business.
Didn't OJ Simpson go to a hotel room to buy back memorabilia?😅
I think he brought guns and bats, not cash though.
This was a great episode!
The Transformers were awesome
It would be nice to have the background music you used to play where there are long silences. Would you bring that back? Another great episode though - Interesting hotel room trades!
I would have never seen or known about this stuff. This was really cool.
I was gifted Star Brigade on Christmas. The sounds the speaker box makes is pretty cool. I might still have some missles laying around.
Thats so cool love the trades
Great episode, great finds!
Awesome content gentleman... As always.
3:24 I think that concept has been taken on, I’ve seen 2 Party Wagon “transformers” in the past month that either have or will be released this year
I got deja vu for a second. Then I realized half of the video you already had shown a couple months ago. Still watched it regardless
This is my favorite reality show I look forward to it every week
I need that hoodie! Love your videos guys!
Please don’t let sponsors and their money ruin this man it’s like a little tv show I always watch
ANOTHER GREAT SHOW!!! SUCH A COOOOL LIFE, YOU GUY'S LIVE!!!! THANK YOU ALL 4 SHARING, AND LETTING US ALL JOIN IN ON THE GREATEST RIDE IN THE WORLD!!! GET PICK UP'S!!! THANK'S AGAIN!!!!❤😂👍🤙🫶🤎😆🙏
Ryan is walking proof that even in the the toy game, you shouldn’t get high on your own supply.
Guy at 11:50 is playing Pokemon lol. He has the volume incredibly high, as well. I know those sounds anywhere 😅
A few years ago, I wrote an article on the gi joe star brigade toyline and the history of it was so crazy. Shame we didn't get that cool COBRA space fighter
I feel like you're Travis Bickle, meeting up with Easy Andy!
Lol. Great video!
i only have a couple pieces of original art, it's usually expensive and it's usually not worth the cost. i never even saw or heard of original box art and proofs being for sale before. kinda neat
My equivalent to Saturday morning cartoons back in the day. 👊
Where the white gloves at gotta keep that finger grease off those Schematics
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, as each person fingers through it who knows whats on their hands?
I'm already waiting for the horror figures for Halloween
That joe power in box is awesome it rare I have the cobra power fight variant loose I got in a random collection
Lets go!!!
How are these things authenticated?
I need to go through my photos is the nice way of walking away from an item... it's definitely the easiest way.
Saying 50% off a price you make just means you are paying the regular price!
Armor bot has always been cool! Though after gi joe I was into Exosquad, then Mechwarrior, and then mecha anime... I must have a type.
My.parents bought the armour bot in Canada so the sticker sheet was diffrent!
Toy federation rules💪💪💪
Look at me i am not first but a class act to make the call.
I’m just wondering how does one get their hands on such pop culture blue prints
Which Byrne's Galactus were you referring to? The comic cover Marvel Legends Masterworks? or actual artwork?
Oh yeah room traders
Excuse me just cleaning the drool off my screen after those Toxic Crusaders concept art pieces!
I bought NECA Bishop from her this year
I'm curious about trades between the rooms and how they equate value. At stores, trades or sales are usually priced around 30 to 40% of the market value but how do they calculate trades between two sellers; like what happened in the batmobile vs galactus? Did both guys compare the market value of their items and matched the others? or did they calculate 40% of the market value of both items?
Doesn’t really matter.as long as they’re both using the same method to determine value.
@@shootermcgavin1208 But how do you know if the other is using the same method? I only kinda figured because the other mentioned that you can sell the Luke alone for $300 or something.
I think maybe because it's a trade, they were dealing with the market value of each product but still there's the "what can you do for me" aspect of the deal.
I have that toynami Godzilla
@toyfederation How do i get the sleeveless hoodie !!!
did someone say that blue/white figure at 2:26 was $50k and they just left it sitting on top of other figures on the bed?!
his 3D printer is already working on another one
I'm just the kind of guy that goes gaga over those toy blueprints. Toy designs just aren't being done in that format anymore and the material used is just too fragile. Rarity will increase in the coming decades. There's going to be a select niche of collectors for that stuff that's going to be fighting for that.
❤
lol that makes no sense yes the only one but if they made another proof like change color there’s another one hahaha
🤙
So the guy wanted 1000 for burns and galactis is at 600 so for an even trade it should have been 400 cash.
Isn’t that what they said?
@@toyfederation he said galactis and 500 that’s 1100
Fella in the hotel room did some SERIOUSLY SLOW math there....
Could have at least made the bed.
Ok Nancy
Ha I like at the beginning ole dude was talking to y’all about the gi joes and none of y’all was listening
Nerd over load lol ;-)
cromalin is not !!!!!! one of a kind !!!!! you can have as many a a graphic designer wants to print out !!!!
Your stupid becomes my most cherished. Ah--if only we knew.
Be funny if cops came after someone reported a drug deal flgoing down.and they get there and see toys everywhere lol
Did this guy get all that stuff for free and now he’s selling it?
i have 2 galactus' .... i woulda sold him one for 500 lol
New is $500 or used?
@@stingray10 one 100% sealed mailer.. the other was used as a store display (my buddy asked me to let him use it as consignment) but 100% sealed.. just open mailer
@@Imac7065 gotcha, so used is about 300 ish?
@@stingray10 haven't seen anyone sell one for less than 400
I wish i would have kept my transformers
First yay. Greetings from Ireland you guys are great
Trouble is that there's no proof that proofs are true proofs no thanks 😂
Wait so the Galactus is 600, the two pieces are priced at 1400 total, and his offer that he's framing as a deal is 800 for the difference? That's not a deal lmao that's just what the difference would be anyway. Bro gave him the non-discount discount lol
Rubbing his chin and pausing dramatically just to come up with the same number you'd get to using basic math is so funny
It would be easy to fake all this stuff so watch out and its only going to get worse and this type of stuff doesn’t have a set value also us old guys are going to quit collecting soon and these next generations wont have the money to waste on toys I see it going down like comics
Hotel room??, wtf are they doing in a hotel room....🤔🤔🤔🤔
Cant be good .....
Honest question here: Do the hotels know in advance that people will be conducting business in the rooms, opposed to the conference areas?
Pfffft
Do hotels in seedy areas know people are using drugs in their rooms, instead of outside? The answer is yes and they couldn't care less, as they sell more rooms to people that wanna showcase stuff to a invite only crowd.
Typically there is a publicly posted list of rooms that are trading in the lobby. So they most likely know.
@@johnfritz7222 speaking from experience?
Honestly... it's weird
I’m sorry. I know you’re the expert, but this looks dodgy as hell and I’m not saying that because it’s in a hotel room etc…that guy selling the stuff (although I’m sure he has a reputation of selling legit pieces) is sketch and it doesn’t really seem like he knows what he’s talking about with those “proofs”. He’s either strait up lying or more likely leading people to believe he knows more than he actually does about the stuff. Could be wrong of course, but that’s the vibe I got.
I think you're right
3k for paper is crazy
First!
Who fukin cares??
You!
Toy dealers are the best bullshitters ..haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Why do you say that!?
LET'S GO BRANDON!!!!!
