Thanks so much for mentioning this, Gene! I'll have to give this a shot when I get home. I searched for an answer to this, Weeks before I made the video but was unable to find a simple solution. There was a youtube video demonstrating how to essentially hack into the gateway and turn it off, but it definitely would not have been for the faint of heart, so I didn't include it in the video. Again, thanks for taking the time to mention this, Gene- I really appreciate it!!
@@NigelWorkman Nigel, did you get a chance to try the Hint Control app? I have a T-Mobile FAST 5688W with Google Nest Pro and I'd like to turn the FAST 5688W off.
I just received mine today and I couldn’t be happier! I live out of the city and I was getting like 10 mbps download speed with AT&T and now I’m getting well over 150. Night and day difference!
Hey Dalyn- I’m happy to hear that you are having a great experience so far! That is a substantial improvement indeed! Not too far back it was an expectation that living out of town would typically mean poor internet service. I’m so happy that these companies are finally able to provide reliable internet for those of us who choose to live outside of the mix. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, Dalyn- I appreciate it! I hope your internet continues to serve you well for years to come! 🤟🏼✌🏼
The problem is, A lot of people are so used to hearing about gigabit and multigig services that they feel as though it is necessary to have that in order to do things like play online games or stream in 4K, but the reality is, in most cases, 300 is MORE than enough to do all of those thing very smoothly. Sometimes we get lost in the marketing BS and forget that our current setup is working just fine! glad to hear about how much of an improvement you saw- That is AMAZING! @@obiwanjakobe9814 Also, thanks for taking the time to comment- I really appreciate it!! ✌🏼🤟🏼
curious to know if performance stays up for working remotely all day for whole month. if they throttle data after any max capacity, it would not be a great experience working from home. thanks.
Hello Vijay! I have not experienced any throttling whatsoever. Just to put this into perspective, I am using roughly 3 terabytes of data per month and have not had any issues with data caps/throttling. I would say you are pretty safe to give it a shot, but I think there may be other factors at play here. One of the most important examples would be- How much congestion is on the particular cell tower you are feeding from. I happen to be on the outskirts of town, with a very small amount of tmobile subscribers near me (for now). If you are in the middle of a big metropolitan area where tmobile is a popular carrier, you may have a different experience. Hope this helps, Vijay!! thanks so much for stopping by and commenting!! ✌🏼
Using my own router with the new 5g T-Moble modem. Part of the desk is near a window in a 1 story home. 4 out of 5 bars 373 down 25.5 up. I had slightly better speed with Spectrum (which I've had for over 20 years) Spectrum was $77.99... $10 off the regular price after I talked to them and got a lower rate. T-Mobile here is $35 (we have phones from them, 55+ plan). Speed is a little lower in early evening, but for the price I can live with that! I have no complaints about Spectrum they always quickly resolved any service problems. I'm still in the evaluation period, so far I'm impressed!
Hey @WFTL14, thanks for sharing your setup and experience! It sounds like you've got a great thing going with T-Mobile Home Internet. Those are solid speeds, especially considering you're getting 4 out of 5 bars. And it's smart to place the gateway near a window - that definitely helps with signal strength. It's interesting to hear how it compares to Spectrum. It seems like you're getting very similar performance for a much lower price, which is a win! I'm curious, what kind of router are you using? It sounds like it's working well for you. Keep us updated on how it goes during your evaluation period! Hopefully, those early evening slowdowns aren't too bad.
Awesome news, my friend! 55 bucks for internet in this day and age is a steal, especially when you compare it to companies like Cox and Comcast. They’re like vultures circling, waiting to rip you off! Thank goodness for choices, right? I really appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks a bunch!
Great Video breaking it down! Question. I want to set up a Philips Hue and Aqara bulbs, sensors, and switches, and they seem to require 2.4ghz bandwidth to initially set it up. Do you think I can set it up with 5g Home internet?
Hi there! Just to let you know, the wireless router T-Mobile provides supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, so you should have no trouble with this setup. Feel free to reach out once everything’s set up and let me know how it goes! Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!
Cox cable has had a monopoly on the Home internet market where i live forever. I saw that T-Mobile home internet was $50 a month and was wondering if it was fast enough to stream 4k movies and you just answered my question. Thank you so much for this video. Im so excited to kick cox to the curb.
Hey! Thanks so much for watching my review and I’m really glad you found it helpful! Kicking Cox to the curb sounds like a win, but just remember that my experience with T-Mobile 5G Home Internet might not be the same for everyone. It works great in my area, but coverage can vary based on how many people are using the same tower, among other factors. I’d recommend checking out Reddit or other forums to see what people in your area are saying before canceling Cox. The good news is that T-Mobile offers a two-week trial, so you can try it out risk-free. If it doesn’t work out, you can cancel without any charges. Thanks again for watching-I really appreciate it!
My pleasure, John! Let me know if you end up giving it a try- I’d love to hear about your experience with it (if it’s good anyway….JK!) Thanks again for stopping by! ✌🏼🤟🏼
We currently have Cox internet. Have been considering T-Mobile home internet as it would be half of what we are paying Cox. However, T-Mobile doesn't have port forwarding (it states that on their info site) and that prevents us from accessing our home security camera system that is a wired system even with the app on our phone. There's a cell tower about 120 feet from our property line. I've checked the internet speed on the T-Mobile network through my phone and the speeds are incredible. We cannot seem to get correct advise as to how we could solve this dilemma, whether or not it is actually a problem. Any advice?
Im glad you caught that part! I was worried that people would miss that detail, which as you and I both know is REALLY important!! Re-connecting 50+ devices sounds like a nightmare LOL Thanks for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Nope- no additional cost! Those “emitters” are actually the “mesh WiFi points” I referenced in the video. That is not part of the package, rather some additional hardware that I use to make sure I have strong signal throughout the house. Thanks for stopping by and commenting! Appreciate you! 🤟🏼✌🏼
Glad to hear you are having a good experience, Tohru!! For me, the speeds have actually been improving over the last year, so I am definitely a happy camper! For the price, I dont think this service can be beat. I’m always willing to try something else though- so as soon as there is a solid competitor in the area I will be giving them a shot! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and comment, Tohru- I appreciate it you!! ✌️🤟
I went to my local T-mobile store and walked out with my phone back up but one of these as a two week trail period test. It's a lot cheaper and faster than Spectrum, AT&T and Verizon which is not available where I am in Texas. My total bill for the first month for everything is $70 then goes to $120. Affordable for phone and home internet. When I started it the device kept powering off and on the first few days. Maybe downloading updates? It has been stable and quick recently. Hope they don't raise the price unless they give better service.
Hey there, Rogue- thanks for the comment! Glad to hear you snagged a T-Mobile Home Internet setup and that it's saving you some cash compared to the big guys. Although Spectrum, AT&T, and Verizon are not available in your area, if they were, it would likely be pricier than what T-Mobile is offering. Sounds like the initial hiccups with the device restarting worked themselves out - hopefully it's smooth sailing from here on out! Totally understand your point about the price. Fingers crossed they keep it reasonable, but hey, if they improve the service alongside any future adjustments, that wouldn't be the worst thing. Appreciate you sharing your experience, man! Helps others get a real-world perspective. Thanks again for stopping by, Rogue- I really appreciate it! ✌🏼🤟🏼

@@NigelWorkman Ok. How is T-Mobile 5G working, is it good? Can I connect my own router to 5G Gateway through LAN cable? Not sure why they only have 2 LAN ports. Usually all Modem+Router in one have 4 LAN ports.
I definitely want to use my home router and shut down the gateway's wifi. One strange thing I have noticed (only had the service for a few days) is that some things like TH-cam seem to appear to buffer even if "Speedtest" give great numbers. Others have made similar comments elsewhere. Any ideas on how to get around this issue? I don't get the speed you do but it is reasonable when it works well enough. I am the only user with only a handful of devices.
Hello, Michael- thanks for stopping by! Out of curiosity, what is your average ping? I have noticed over many speedtest that the ping with this service can be less than 30ms one day, and then over 60ms on another. I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
Give it a solid month, then you will start to see TMO deprioritize your Home Internet speed in favor of cell service, and it's a major drop in speeds everyday from 5p-midnight.
are the drops normally from very high end speed 200+mbps download 100+mbps upload to something unusable like 50 download and like 15 upload? setting this up for parents house and am looking for consistency issues your comment caught my eye if you can give your insight itd be greatly appreciated!
Hey, Mploof! This is something I am starting to hear from quite a few of my viewers, as well as other reviewers. It has been roughly 3 months since my service with them began, and so far, I haven't had any noticeable performance issues. On the other hand, I do believe that congestion (or lack of) plays a huge role in my experience so far. Not only is T-Mobile the least used network in my area, but a recent upgrade in the network has me operating under the best possible circumstances. As they continue to grow in my area, I have no doubt that at some point, I will feel the effects, but I will remain hopeful that they have beefed up the network enough to at least give me a couple of solid years. I tend to be overly optimistic though, so we'll see, LOL. Thanks for stopping by and mentioning this, Mploof. I'm sure this info will help others out there! Take care and have a happy holiday! ✌🏼🤟🏼
@@NigelWorkman What I see in my very rural area, is mornings I get 165 down/ 20 up, but by 5pm to midnight it drops to 5-8 down and 1-3 up, while my S21 still gets 200 down at the same time. My son lives in the same area and lives right my the tower and he gets amazing speeds in the a.m. (300+), but also feels a huge drop at night. TMO has told me straight up that they deprioritize home internet at night in favor of phone service.
@@RonnieRockafella Hey Ronnie, thanks for adding to this conversation. I was thinking initially that most of the folks who were experiencing these drops would likely be in more populated areas with more network congestion, but it looks like @mploof is being deprioritized as well, but in a "very rural" area as he describes it. Makes me question why I have been having such a good experience in my area? I think one of my advantages may be the small footprint of T-Mobile as an actual cell provider in my area, hence, no noticeable drops in the evening. 9 out of 10 folks you talk to out here are verizon customers, and the 10th is generally ATT. I'm not as confidant that these speeds will continue, but i will keep my fingers crossed that it does. If they end up letting me down, fortunately there are a growing number of options for us consumers, which was never the case until recently- I am thankful for that competition and hope that will motivate these companies to do what is necessary to give us the service we deserve. If not- on to the next!! Thanks again for stopping by and leaving a comment, Ronnie! I really appreciate it! ✌🏼🤟🏼
The first three months of Tmobile Home Internet service I was getting 800 Mbps download speeds. After that Tmobile started to automatically throttle my speeds and after fourteen months they have it throttled all the way down to 300 Mbps download speed. This is on the South West side of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Their service was advertised as 1 Gig speed.
I really hope this doesn’t end up being the case across the board, Callard. Really sorry to hear that you took such a major hit in the speed department. Hopefully other companies continue to provide service in the same areas. The only way to show these companies that we’re not gonna tolerate this throttling is to just toss up the peace, sign and move along. Best of luck to you my friend- and I hope you land on something that works as it’s supposed to. Thanks again for taking the time to leave a comment , Callard- I appreciate you! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Just a quick question because I didn't quite understand in regards to mesh. I have a mesh setup with Mediacom internet at the moment. I'm trashing Mediacom because it has become too expensive for both cable and internet. I currently hava a mesh in the family room, garage, and then out in my golf cave (shed). Will I be able to use mesh with T-Mobile 5G internet?
Thats a good question, Dawnpatrol- In order to answer that correctly, could you please tell me the model of the mesh system? If it was provided by the ISP, there is a chance it may not have compatibility with T-Mobile. Send me the information and I'm sure we can figure out if it will be compatible!!
@@NigelWorkman The make/model of my mesh is Taotronics AC3000. Purchased it 3 years ago when I moved into our current house and it has worked flawlessly with Mediacom.

Hey Dang! I'll be honest- lots of people are sharing a wide range of experiences with me since I posted this and what I am seeing is, results vary greatly and without any obvious reason. For instance, a commenter below is in a very rural area, which I would imagined isn't a very congested network- but is experiencing extreme drops in speed in the evening. I suppose a good question would be, what is the actual capacity of the network in a given area. They may have built it out very small not expecting many folks to sign up, but ended up with more than expected. Then there are folks like me in a reasonably populated area that are having a great experience with no sign of deprioritization....YET! If you are one of us that is lucky enough to be in a area where the capacity outweighs the demand, I think you will be really happy! At this point, there is just no way of knowing what areas are good and which are not without having a lot more info. I do hope you are one of the lucky ones, Dang!! Please stop by and tell me what you think about it once you get it up and running!! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a comment- I appreciate it! ✌🏼🤟🏼
From what I’ve learned it pretty much all depends on how close you are to the tower. Basically see how good your signal is on cell when at home and go off that..
@@hylight978 Its within 100-150 Mbps of the cell tower top speed, generally speaking. I did notice I have been getting higher peak speeds than I was 2/3 months ago. My average inside the house on my wifi network has been around 600ish Mbps up from the 400-450 I was getting from the start. I am still a happy customer contrary to what so many folks were reporting. Maybe I'm just one of the lucky ones!
One gateway lasted about a month. There was no fixing it with tech support. I just had to bring it back to the store for a swap out. Bundle with the phone service made it a little cheaper. But watch for gateway failure. The store was more than happy to swap it out so good on that customer service.
Which gateway were you having issues with? Im curious to know if this is something that is happening to a lot of customers, or if you just had a unlucky streak? So far Ive been pretty luck with mine- Couple of restarts here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Hello Louise, thank you for stopping by! I’m not exactly sure what you’re talking about. If I’m being honest with you as I don’t recall mentioning anything about data leakage, could you reference a specific part of the video where I said that maybe with a timestamp? To make just a general umbrella statement about this topic, though, I think this would more or less be down to the security of your home network more so than that of T-Mobile’s as long as you have the proper protections in place on your home network, I would imagine you’d be just fine. On the other hand, I don’t do anything that would require me to have any advanced level security so I’m not well-versed on the subject what I can’t say is I’ve never had any thing out of the ordinary happen during this first year with T-Mobile Pretty much just business as usual!
I have T-Mobile I love their customer service tried to install home Internet in Florida, but due to the hurricanes, the towers are down and they don’t know when they’re gonna be back up
Hey there! Appreciate you checking out the video and sharing your experience! It's rough to hear about the hurricane impacting T-Mobile Home Internet service down in Florida. Sending positive vibes your way, and hoping things get back to normal soon. 🙏 Hang in there, and hopefully, T-Mobile will have you back online in no time. Thanks again for watching! 🙌
Well what do I tell my boyfriend about his $50 WiFi home internet it now acts like a iPhone hotspot where you have 100mbps to use than your network starts the throttle? Is this supposed to happen? He was also getting messages that his internet will be slower. He just bought it 2 weeks ago and now we can’t watch apps on a smart TV.
Hello, e4TV-thanks for stopping by! It sounds like your boyfriend is experiencing data throttling. While T-Mobile’s 5G home internet is generally unlimited, the network may slow down temporarily during times of congestion, especially after heavy usage. This shouldn’t happen all the time, so I’d recommend checking your data usage in the T-Mobile app or reaching out to customer support to see if there’s anything specific affecting his account. They should be able to help get your streaming back on track! On the other hand, if the performance is consistently poor in your area, it might be worth considering a different provider that can meet your needs. The same aspect that makes this service great-using a cell tower for signal-can also be its Achilles’ heel. While this setup is typically reliable (for instance, I’ve never had an outage during storms, unlike with Cox Communications), the quality of service can vary depending on network congestion near your closest tower. I live outside of town where there aren’t many people using the network, so my service is generally excellent. However, in more densely populated areas, the experience might not be as consistent. I hope you guys are able to get it all figured out , e4! Take care ✌️🤟
@@NigelWorkman This does thank you for the helpful tips! We called the provider and found out he has Home Wifi Lite where he will only get 100mbps per month. Thanks for the review! My wife and I have been with T-Mobile cellular for 2+ years. Last week T-Mobile Home Internet became available in our area. I've been a satisfied Comcast/Xfinity subscriber for 38 years. Our 30 devices (including 4 TVs, 8 Wyze cams/plugs, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 Macs, etc.) and a 3,800 square foot house, Xfinity has us at 1gigs speed. Probably overkill, but I am concerned that T-Mobile Home Internet can handle everything as well as Xfinity. I'm considering the 14-day free trial, but not sure it's worth the effort. Comments?
Hello, Jim! This is a great question, and I think one of the most important considerations will be: What wireless network are you currently using? Is it the provided equipment from Xfinity or your own network? Switching to T-Mobile would require the additional purchase of a mesh network (if you don't already have one) as the provided router would require extending to cover that square footage. I also have a 3800 square feet home, and the provided router isn't emitting enough signal to cover the area adequately. Now, back to your original question: Can T-Mobile keep up with your 40 devices? Unfortunately, this also depends on how strong the T-Mobile infrastructure is in your area. I have read comments from folks who have reported speeds anywhere from 50 Mbps to speeds nearing gigabit. I'm getting around 700 Mbps from the tower, so I have more than enough to keep my 55+ devices working extremely well along with my Nest WiFi Pro network. At this point, I really do think you would have to just jump into the 14-day trial and see what the capacity is in your area. If you are getting anywhere in the 500-600 Mbps range, you will be totally fine! One last thing to keep in mind: Due to the nature of the tech, you will be competing with cell users on this network, and from what I've read, they do prioritize cell traffic over home internet. This hasn't affected me since there are very few T-Mobile customers in my area, but this may not be the case for you. I think that about does it, Jim! Hope this was helpful. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask-I'll get back faster next time! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Thanks for so the details, Nigel! I’ll give T-Mobile some more thought before I doing the trial. Currently Xfinity’s Gateway is able to cover my whole house and all my devices, even without a mesh system.
@@jmcafee6564That’s pretty impressive, Jim! The layout of my house doesn’t allow for a central location for the router so I have nodes all over the place LOL. Glad to hear yours is working so well. Unless you stand to save a ton of money, maybe sticking with xfinity is the move? I plan on trying out google fiber as soon as it becomes available in my neighborhood, but will certainly stick with T-Mobile until then. Take care Jim, and let me know what you end up doing if you have think about it! ✌🏼🤟🏼
They offer a 14 day free trial. If you’re not satisfied with the performance, send that sucker right back! They don’t even charge you until after the 14 and that if you keep it. Might end up being a game changer for you!
Wow I’m really surprised. I really appreciate the lack of jargon and details I don’t understand nor do I care about. Everything works fine is exactly what I’m looking for. 🙌
Hey Salvaggion- thanks for stopping by! I’ve spent way too much time and effort trying to increase my speed, even when there are no issues! We all get so hung up on the number rather than the actual performance- which is actually pretty strange if you think about it lol. I have finally come to a place where I can actually sit back and just appreciate the fact that it’s all WORKING- and quite well at that! Thanks for taking the time to comment! I really appreciate it!! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Hello, Joy! I have heard the term port forwarding before but never bothered to look into it until now. I can see how this could be a problem in some cases, and I'm glad you mentioned it. As far as the upload speed is concerned, I suppose it depends on what you consider to be slow. With my previous ISP (Cox with Gigablast), I would average 30-40 Mbps up. With T-Mobile, I'm generally getting over 100 Mbps up, so to some of us, it's actually faster. I know some providers have equal up and down, but that has never been an option for me, unfortunately. Now I am located in an area where I don't expect much network congestion, so it might be the case that I am just extremely lucky, whereas those who are in a more populated area are experiencing quite the opposite. If I could add anything to this video, I would definitely talk a little about how my experience with the service is likely based on the most optimal circumstances. Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment, Joy! Take care and have a happy new year!
@@NigelWorkman You are confusing upload with download speed. T-Mobile only 'promise' upload speed of no more than 30Mbps and typically only around 10Mbps. I tried T-Mobile Home Internet and was getting almost 200Mbps download with only around 15Mbps upload. Latency is still not great with 40+ms. I will stay with my fiber optics line which has latency of around 10ms. The last straw for my is the lack of ability to configure the gateway (Model: TMO-G4AR) that was provided by T-Mobile and the terrible technical service thereafter.
Hello again! I know it sounds like I am mixing uploading and download, but I am not, lol. I am getting around 600 down when hardwired to the gateway, 300 to 400 down when on my wireless network, and 100 up on average from either hardwire or wirelessly connected. It might just be that I am fortunate enough to be operating under the most optimum circumstances, which may not happen very often. I’m sorry you did not have a good experience with it, and I totally understand how frustrating that can be. If my situation at all resembled yours, I certainly would have kept my fiber optic as well. We’ll see how the network congestion over the next couple of years affects my current performance. T-Mobile is not particularly popular out here, so I’m hoping that even if the network does become more congested over time, it will be negligible, but that’s just the optimist in me, lol.
It's day 3 of using my new 'wireless-broadband' with T-Mobile Home Internet. So far, not bad. PROS: Wireless, Wireless, Wireless! I can set the gateway device anywhere at any time in my house. CONS: Wireless (maybe) TBD when real bad weather ☁️ hits. The gateway router is not dual-band (2.4Ghz/5Ghz). Which means, I had to choose the wider range but, slower speed 2.4Ghz (110MB up/60MB down) when setting-up due to legacy devices (such as my security cameras) that only use 2.4Ghz. 😡instead of the faster 5Ghz (340MB down/40MB up). Also, this router is difficult to connect when you set its SSID (network name) to hidden. For example, my Xbox Series X only lets me connect to a Wi-Fi router with a 'visible' SSID. After, I connected the console, I set my router to Hidden again. Stay Tuned: If I start to have connection issues and or outages, I will switch to QuantumFiber in my neighborhood that's also the same price of $50 a month like T-Mobile Home Internet.
Hey Freddy, thanks for sharing your experience with T-Mobile Home Internet so far! Glad to hear it's been mostly positive. You're right, that lack of dual-band Wi-Fi on the gateway is a bummer for people with older devices. It's a trade-off for sure - wider range with 2.4GHz, but you miss out on those faster 5GHz speeds. Hopefully, T-Mobile will update their gateway to include dual-band in the future. And I can definitely see how the hidden SSID thing would be annoying with an Xbox. Good workaround though! As for the weather, fingers crossed it holds up for you! It's definitely something to keep an eye on with any wireless service. If you do end up switching to Quantum Fiber, let us know how it compares! It's always good to have options. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experience, Freddy I’m sure me and everyone else reading this really appreciate all the great detail details! ✌️🤟
Very satisfied so far with it. I had verizon 5g home plus to begin with as my local isp only issues around 60bmps down max, where verizon averages around 70-100 down. I tried it and it just did not work for me. We have a local cable company that has fiber in our neighborhood. Cannot beat fiber. I did cancel everything but internet with the cable company and purchased my own eero extenders.
Certainly! Fiber optic connections do offer a level of reliability and speed that's hard to match. It's great to hear you found a solution that fits your needs. I'm curious, how has the overall experience been with the cable company and the eero extenders? I have had other carriers, and have always returned to the local company. We have a good size house, and I can get reception in the garage and outdoor shed. They normally charge $5.00 for every extra Eeros, so buying them will pay for itself in less than a year.
@@amp-resistor it’s good to have options, but I suppose it’s all for not if the options don’t provide a comparable experience. Eero is a great mesh network so I’m sure you will have no issues there. Google is building up the infrastructure for fiber in my area as well as cox. Not sure if I’d care to check the cox service out, but I will absolutely be trying out google fiber when it’s available. It will be hard to pry me away from the 30 bucks a month though 😂
been debating this for months its been a hard decision cause we arent saving that much 20 compared to your 150. but thats literally a 10x speed increase wtf lol if its the same. but it doesnt matter if its unreliable i didnt know their was a 14 daay trial period i gotta give this a shot
I was in the same boat, Omega. To be honest with you, I don't think I would have pulled the trigger if it weren't for the 2-week trial. This house, as with most other homes in this modern era, relies so heavily on reliable internet that I would not have been willing to let it all fall apart for the sake of a discounted rate. Fortunately, the service does work well in my area, and hopefully, you will be able to say the same. Please share an update with us if you end up going for it. Would love to know how it works out for you! Thanks for stopping by and commenting, Omega- I really appreciate it!!✌🏼🤟🏼
We needed to replace a fried Att dsl router for my dad’s house. The Att dsl was pretty dismal and expensive. What a pain even to replace the router. I just walked into T-Mobile and they handed me the unit and was up 15 minutes once home. If you have decent cell coverage it’s great. Most people not gaming can stream work and play multiple devices on 50 up and down. No brainer don’t like it return it.
Exactly, 0Dark! I’ve been telling people about the 2 week trial for some time now. That really is the only way to know what quality of service you have in your area. If it’s no good, send it back- no harm done! I think in most cases, it’s only available in areas that have usable speeds anyway. It’s not likely that they would even allow a customer outside of a decent coverage zone to sign up. Glad you’re having a good experience with it! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment, 0Dark- I really appreciate appreciate it! ✌🏼🤟🏼
@@NigelWorkman in the same cut to ATT we’ve closed out both the DSL and archaic phone plan totaling about $200. Now we at $40.00 month and a free plan on Ooma.

I’ve been really impressed so far! As it happens, I have really good service in this area and not much congestion, so, pretty ideal circumstances. It’s hard to sign off on this 100% due to the fact that others may be in a wildly different set of circumstances as far the congestion is concerned, which I think would be the main detriment and potential deal breaker. I’ll hope for the best cause this guy wants to keep that discount rolling!!
@theradiantchild I feel ya man- My ping with Cox was usually around 20-30ms, and with T-mobile it's typically been 2x that. With that said, my experience with COD and GTA didn't feel any different on cox than it does now on T-mobile. On the other hand, I am not particularly serious/competitive when it comes to multiplayer so I would take my gaming assessment with a grain of salt LOL.@@theradiantchild If you are curious about it, give that 2 week trial a go! There really is no commitment and they will have that gateway to you in a couple days. If it doesn't meet your expectations, send it back- easy peasy my friend! Hey Ryan- Glad to hear you are having a great experience, and saving a good amount of money to boot!! I was originally getting a lot of commenters mentioning they had poor experiences, but as of late, they seem to be turning towards the positive! Glad to see T-Mobile is actually keeping up with the demand. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your story, Ryan! ✌🏼🤟🏼
I am jealous of those speeds. I have had T-Mobile home internet for about a yaear and the speeds were around 100, better than from what I had with century link. Starting in October the speeds dropped down to 5 to 20, with once and a while getting 40 maybe 50. As of a week ago for over an hour it just dropped out completely. I keep being told that there is a tower since November that needs service. As of last week I am now being told that the service will fluctuate from time to time. So I am not happy with their service but not a lot of options in my area.
Jeez, Titan- Im really sorry to hear this. The more I hear about these bad experiences, the more I worry about the future of this service. Are they just jumping into areas where they clearly don't have the infrastructure to support the potential customers? I just don't see how they can be blowing it so hard. Those speeds are terrible!! Im shocked that they are just basically telling you to live with it- this is bad business and I hope you have some other options become available quick! They don't deserve your business, Titan. What a shame Thanks for stopping by and sharing your experience. I hope you are able to find a resolution to your issues asap. Take care ✌🏼🤟🏼
TT- those are some awesome speeds!! I was was worries that my speed would diminish over time as that was the report from quite a few commenters. I’m sorry to hear that, JP. I have several Chromecast and Google TVs connected to mine- I wonder why yours is not working? Also wondering what type of security system you’re using? Maybe myself or someone else in the comments here can help you get it figured out. I have quite the robust home security system built out of lots of different pieces from different manufactures, and I have yet to have a single problem since switching. Hopefully there’s a solution out there for you!
Let be honest I have been a T-Mobile customer for years now, this network does not work well at all how could I possibly invest in a cellular based wifi when the cellular network itself sucks ass it makes no sense.
Hey gamelauncher! It seems crazy to me that they would even bother rolling out home internet in areas where they clearly do not have the capability to support the additional bandwidth requirements, which will be tenfold the daily usage of a cell customer. If they were able to provide service at the level that I am experiencing, you'd be a happy camper. However, it is becoming more clear to me, as I read these comments, that I am but a small percentage of folks who are quite lucky to be seeing the speeds that am. I hope they manage to get their act together and give you the service you deserve, gamelauncher. Thanks for taking the time to comment and best of luck to you in your future bandwidth endeavors. ✌🏼🤟🏼

Hello, Darrin- thanks for stopping by. Sorry to hear that your area doesn’t have as good of service as mine. The tough part about doing a review of such a thing is, experiences can vary greatly depending on your area. I did mention that I was in a pretty optimal set of circumstances which like accounts for why mine is so good. Many people have great service and unfortunately many people don’t. As far as my relationship with T mobile…..pretty sure they are unaware of my existence- wish they did though! 😂 Take care and I hope your service improves!! ✌🏼🤟🏼
Hello, Typhanuwu- thanks for stopping by!! Sorry to hear you've had a rough experience with T-Mobile. I just ran a Speedtest after reading your comment and got 36 ms ping, so it’s been holding up well on my end. But you’re right-because it’s a cellular service, performance can vary a lot depending on where you are and how the network is being used. That flexibility is what makes it a great deal for some, but it can also mean different results for others.
Hello, Native- Thanks for stopping by!! It is such a shame that there are still so many folks paying $150-200 a month for services that may boast bigger numbers but don't actually perform much differently, if at all. An app called Hint Control will allow you to disable the WiFi radios on the gateway.
Thanks so much for mentioning this, Gene! I'll have to give this a shot when I get home. I searched for an answer to this, Weeks before I made the video but was unable to find a simple solution. There was a youtube video demonstrating how to essentially hack into the gateway and turn it off, but it definitely would not have been for the faint of heart, so I didn't include it in the video. curious to know if performance stays up for working remotely all day for whole month. if they throttle data after any max capacity, it would not be a great experience working from home.

T-mobile 5G has been amazing for me! Switched providers a while back to save money..paying $55/month and it works perfectly. Sick vid!
Awesome news, my friend! 55 bucks for internet in this day and age is a steal, especially when you compare it to companies like Cox and Comcast. They’re like vultures circling, waiting to rip you off!

Great Video breaking it down! Question. I want to set up a Philips Hue and Aqara bulbs, sensors, and switches, and they seem to require 2.4ghz bandwidth to initially set it up. Do you think I can set it up with 5g Home internet?

Any advice?
Hello Mary- thanks for stopping by! What brand of home security cameras are installed?
I loved that you talked about using the same wifi name on the new T Mobile system. Very smart and easy way to save a hell of a lot of time !

So there’s no additional cost for the equipment? And they provide you with four of those (emitters?)? Sorry I don’t have the vocabulary.
Nope- no additional cost! Those “emitters” are actually the “mesh WiFi points” I referenced in the video. That is not part of the package, rather some additional hardware that I use to make sure I have strong signal throughout the house.

@@NigelWorkman Of course, no problem. Always glad to support honest reviews/hard work.

My son lives in the same area and lives right my the tower and he gets amazing speeds in the a.m. (300+), but also feels a huge drop at night.

The first three months of Tmobile Home Internet service I was getting 800 Mbps download speeds.
After that Tmobile started to automatically throttle my speeds and after fourteen months they have
it throttled all the way down to 300 Mbps download speed. This is on the South West side of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

For the life of me why would anyone be allowed to sell a plan like this is so wrong and for $50 per month. He has to wait until the other unlimited plan is open in his area.
Well done video, nice work. Good review
Thanks so much, Sallutz! I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment, and I definitely appreciate the feedback. Take care!

Great video. Will see if it's offered in our area.
T-Mobile uses CGNAT. Hence no port forwarding. The upload speed is also really slow.

Very satisfied so far with it. I had verizon 5g home plus to begin with as my local isp only issues around 60bmps down max, where verizon averages around 70-100 down. I live right next to a tower and t mobile has 5g antennas on it and I average around 600-850 with tmobile out in the middle of the country in florida. Very low ping as I play games on it too.
Hey, THEGOAT! Thanks a bunch for your comment and for sharing your experience! It sounds like you’re having an amazing time with T-Mobile, especially since you’re out in the country. That’s super cool! I’m glad to hear that it’s also working great for gaming with the low ping. It’s awesome that it’s been a solid upgrade for you compared to Verizon!

Switching providers can sometimes bring about challenges, so I'm interested to know if you encountered any hiccups during the transition. It's always valuable to hear about different experiences with internet setups, especially when it comes to finding the right balance between speed, reliability, and personal preferences. If there's anything specific you've noticed or learned in the process, feel free to share!

Thanks, Linde!! I appreciate you taking the time to comment! If this is available in your area, it’s definitely worth giving that 2 week trial a shot- Such a huge savings!

Dude $30 a month is pretty solid 💪

What a shame

Completely unnecessary to pay more than $50 for internet. We game game around the clock for that amount.
