Asa , Waiting eagerly ...and by seeing the rice , i have a request if you can than plz plz do tell how to make "the punjabi biryani " .. well I am from an urdu speaking karachi based family ,married in punjab ...aur yahan a ky i ate this " biryani" ( which to me is more like pulao" but here it is called biryani) ..they make it in daig , and it is used in almost every occasion .. and to be honest if we apply nam main kiya rakha hy wali soch then this " biryani" is very tasty .. what i get from eating this is that there is imli , no tomato or dahi , and very subtle other masalas God knows what .. To janab ,ager ap jab bhi ap ko time mily is ki tarkeeb share ker dain to main bohat mashkoor houn gi . P.s : a die hard fan of your amazing cooking ...keep rocking .
I can understand your sentiments towards biryani. As soon as you leave khi the concept of layered biryani changes quickly and even in hyderabad what they call biryani is more like pulao. I personally call it Pulao Biryani. You are right about the imli ans no tomato thing but as far as I remember I can very clearly taste the dahi in pulao biryani. Thank you Sadia Bilal for your support and kind words and I definitely will give my take on the punjabi pulao biryani.
There is no Punjabi biryani type of thing exist. But if you want to eat great taste biryani in Lahore you can go to Gormet Restaurant. Most of the restaurant or street food people sell biryani but its not biryani they give you boiled rice with chicken gravy. So quick solution for yummy biryani is shan or national biryani recipe. Enjoy.
Punjabis do make biryani, its a little different than what you might find in khi, that doesnt mean there is no such thing as punjabi biryani. They call it biryani and its their right. There is no reason to look down upon a dish which is regional and suit a specific demographic or taste palette. Do you know even arabs cook biryani. they call it biryani and they add brinjal (bengan) to biryani. Biryani is a truly mutli national dish. You should also know that The biryani served in khi is not the authentic recipe. The authentic recipe is still being cooked in purani dehli and also in hyderabad. It were the nawabs and mughals who started this craze. In that sense khi biryani is no the real biryani. Thanks for commenting.
It wont taste good without the fat. If you cant handle fat I would recommend you try using the Sirlion meat or as we call it Pukht ka ghosht or you can use ribeye or chanp.

Normally people use kewra water in pulao. You didn’t use it there. Why??
If u add phool. Patthar ka phool. It is must in pulao it's dry masala in hance pulao it's flavlour us spicy. I am frm india mp

ہندوستان سے ایران غلط؟ ہری مرچ اور پلاؤ پھر غلط۔ پلاؤ میں مرچیں نہیں ھوتی۔ اصلی پلاؤ میں دودھ بھی استعمال ھوتا ھے۔
