      Unfortunately, the Anandpuri Bir (also called the Hazuri Bir) of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib is no longer "easily" accessible. It used to be more accessible a few decades ago, when Piara Singh Padam examined it. Some Sikh scholars do seem to know where it is today, but it appears to be in the private possession of someone and that person or family doesn't want any attention or publicity. In the United States a microfilm copy of each page of the Bir exists with an individual. Scholars such as Gurinder Singh Mann (USA) have been able to examine and publish some images from the microfilm copy with permission. Some of these images have been published for scholarly study (you can do darshan of these images using the links below).

    I had a doubt that why sgpc is dominating dasam Granth Sahib Ji
    One side they support it
    Other side they are dominating it

    • @TDTS
      @TDTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Organizations are never as innocent as they seem to be. They call this "plausible deniability". SGPC is run by people, and no doubt many Sikhs involved with the SGPC may certainly believe in Dasam Granth Sahib. But the organization is too big and many things can be going on simultaneously behind the scenes. Since they are so big any action they take can make them responsible for major problems. The work of some serious scholars over the years suggests that they may have been complicit in creating some controversies.

      @@TDTS I have seen some GUTKA Sahibaan published by SGPC having Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib, Tavprasad savaiye, And Anand Sahib But no Chaupai Sahib Ji. I'm puzzled about this. Never saw such things before. But I guess it's because I have never used an sgpc published gutka just another one published by chattar Singh Jivan singh.

    Very awesome video Baba ji,from what i understand from seeing the video and reading the description i see that the Rehraas is similar to Budha Dal Rehraas till the Dasam Baani parts (for example the ਮਹਾਕਾਲ Dohira) but includes even more Dasam Baani after that
    I feel it's very good to see all these Puratan Paath's and SGPC and their sympathizers have unnecessarily tried to Standardize many such things and we have lost so much of our Treasures of Puratan Maryadai in the process,just because of their revisionist and power hungry agenda,the Standardization and deliberate editing of Dasam Guru Granth Sahib Birs as an example (Baba Kamalaroop Singh ji talks more about this in their second podcast with Ramblings of a Sikh)
    We find in the times of Guru Gobind Singh Ji themselves Chaupai Sahib had too versions,one from ਮਹਾਕਾਲ ਕੀ ਸਰਨ ਜੇ... And the other from ਪੁਨ ਰਾਖਸ਼ ਕਾ ਕਾਟਾ ਸੀਸਾ... And both versions were Parvaan,so there was no reason to downplay any of these version and instead start a version of their own,but sadly they did.
    Also Shaheedi Bagh is a very interesting Asthan,they have Sri Aad Dasam Sarabloh Guru Darbaar Parkash and also Shastar Parkash and in many ways follow the Maryada such that can be found in Hazur Sahib and Patna Sahib and Nihang Maryada as well,but in some cases revisionist Maryada has crept in too,like a few changes to their Ardaas, but it is very nice to see them keep Puratan Maryada alive. It seems like a mix of Hazur Sahib/Patna Sahib and Budha Dal Asthan
    And I just saw about the patreon,you do some amazing work and I'd definitely be happy to give my dasvandh to help your efforts in reviving and presenting Puratan Maryada when i start earning
    Very well made video ji,learnt many new things from it 🙏🏽💙

      ☺🙏 Ji, in addition to those two, we also Hazur Sahib’s Chaupai Sahib which starts from “Bahur Asur Ka Katas Matha”. Khalsa's historical literature also tells us how Sikhi was pretty diverse back during Guru Sahibs time too. I don’t think its appropriate for anyone to fiddle with that. It bothers me when people start to make bold statements and quickly claim something is/isn’t Gurmat. Gurbani (and ofcourse Sikhi) is just too deep and complex. We keep learning, which is why we are Sikhs. So many of our books and sources are hastily rejected and so much is being pushed forward as Gurmat even though it is clearly new and modern.
      Anyways, thank you so much for your continued support Singh Ji. I’ve set up Patreon for some future, [and hopefully more] extensive content, support there is entirely optional.

      Wow that’s amazing Khalsa Ji! What bani does it contain? Would be great if you can share it!
      Yeah, I feel you Ji! Puratan sources have so much in common, discarding one can sometimes make other Puratan sources difficult to understand. I've noticed this myself. Sometimes if we reject one source, we end up throwing aside key details supporting another.

      @@TDTSit's called the Shri Khalsa Pothi,it has like around 50 Baanis,and most of them are very rare, it's a very interesting Pothi,i ordered it's physical copy too, though it'll take sometime to reach.i think TH-cam will remove my comment if i post the link to it's pdf here,but I'll leave it in a reply to on of aap Ji's comments on my channel
      And yeah definitely right about the Puratan Sources,i think many people deliberately reject a few sources,and then they can't understand the others,and that gives them an excuse to reject all of them

    Picture which you have shown at the starting of chupai sahib that is wrong, guru sahib never wore earings, infact in sarbloh granth, was against earings, you can listen speech from Baba Santa Singh's audio!

    • @TDTS
      @TDTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Meharpreet Singh Ji, thank you very much for your comment, but…
      That picture is one of the oldest pictures we have of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and is inside the Hazuri Bir of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib. So it is not someone’s imagination, but an actual Hazuri painting painted by someone who saw Guru Gobind Singh Ji with their own eyes. It perfectly matches 3 other paintings of Guru Sahib. I tended to think what you are thinking too, but not anymore. The English word “earring” can be used to describe anything you would wear in your ears, but there are multiple words with different meanings in Gurbani which can be translated as “earrings”. Keep in mind that "Mundra" and "Kundals" are not the same thing!
      What I’ve noted from the various speeches of great personalities such as Baba Santa Singh Ji, is they too criticize wearing “Mundra”, but not “Kundals”. The earring that our Gurus wore were called “Kundals” and Kings/Divine personalities used to wear these back in the day (before the British came). In fact, even today some people possess the actual "Kundals" that our Gurus wore. I’ve heard that in the Toshakhana of Harmandir Sahib, Guru Hargobind Ji’s “Kundals” are still kept there. To see the difference between “Kundals” and “Mundra” please skip to 35:49 , and look carefully at the Puratan painting, Guru Nanak Patshah is shown wearing “Kundals” while all the Yogis are shown wearing “Mundra”.
      In fact in Adi Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Waheguru is described by Panjve Patshah as Kesav (Keshdhari), Shastardhari, and wearing beautiful Kundals too, see Ang 1082:
      ਕੇਸਵ ਚਲਤ ਕਰਹਿ ਨਿਰਾਲੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਲੋੜਹਿ ਸੋ ਹੋਇਗਾ ॥੮॥
      Kesav cẖalaṯ karahi nirāle kīṯā loṛėh so ho▫igā. ||8||
      The Lord of beauteous hair, the Worker of miraculous deeds, whatever He wishes, comes to pass. ||8||

      ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕੁੰਡਲ ਮੁਕਟ ਬੈਨ ॥
      Sunḏar kundal mukat bain.
      His ear-rings, crown and flute are so beautiful.
      ਸੰਖ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਗਦਾ ਹੈ ਧਾਰੀ ਮਹਾ ਸਾਰਥੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਾ ॥੧੦॥
      Sankẖ cẖakar gaḏā hai ḏẖārī mahā sārthī saṯsangā. ||10||
      He carries the conch, the chakra and the war club; He is the Great Charioteer, who stays with His Saints. ||10||
      I’ve checked through Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sri Dasam Granth Sahib, and Sri Sarbloh Granth, and all 3 Gurbani Granths only seem to criticize wearing “Mundra”, the ear ornament which Yogis wore, but then talk about wearing “Kundals” as good, something royal and don’t criticize it. There may be 1 or 2 verses were Guru Sahib says symbols of royalties are of no use without Naam, but don't criticize wearing Kundals otherwise. So it's only a matter of a poor English translation of the various ear ornaments and the loss of the knowledge of the meanings behind them. Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Ji also did a Katha on the verses shown above and mentioned how Guru Arjan Ji visualized Waheguru as wearing "Sundar Kundals" (beautiful earrings).
      So when you say, “Guru Sahib never wore earrings”, I used to feel the same way as you did, but the evidence is strong against that. Now I'm quite convinced that our Gurus and many Singhs (including Maharaja Ranjit Singh) actually did wear Kundals (hooped-earrings) but rejected Mundra (ear-tearing crescent-shaped earrings).
      Singh Ji, I hope this clarifies things a little bit!

      @@TDTS veer ji how come the 33 savaiye i have heard from Bhai Kaabal Singh Ji Hazoor Sahib Vale's recording only starts at the second savaiye? and leaves the first savaiye jaagat jot japai nis baasur... out?

    • @TDTS
      @TDTS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@premsingh-yi4dg Veer Ji, the standard saroops of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib being published by the management of Takht Suchkhand Sri Hazur Sahib only has 32 Sawaiye (Starting from "Sat Sadaiv Sarooop" on Ang 717), whereas the ones being published in Punjab have 33 Sawaiye (Starting from the "Jaagat Jot Japai Nis Baasur"). This is probably because many of the Puratan handwritten saroops of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib only contain 32 Sawaiye.
      Even during the annual Dussehra Mahatam Path at Hazur Sahib, only 32 Sawaiye are read. This is probably because the Puratan Saroop Parkashed inside the Takht Sahib only has 32 Sawaiye. The 1698 CE Patna Sahib Dasam Granth Manuscript similarly only has 32 Sawaiye, and the Gutka Sahib of Bhai Param Singh Ji who came with Maharaj to the Deccan (described in Sri Dasam Granth Sahib: Facts Beyond Doubt pages 242-243) also only has these 32 Sawaiye.
      When the management committee of Hazur Sahib decided to publish their own standard Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Saroops (starting from around 2002 I believe), they examined some Puratan handwritten Saroops and then made the decision to simply publish the 32 Sawaiye found in most of the manuscripts they looked at.
      There is a unique manuscript though which is present at Gurdwara Heera Ghat Sahib, and I’ve been told that it has 34 Sawaiye. I even did Darshan of that Saroop from afar, but I did not get a chance to examine the Angs or the extra Sawaiya yet.
