I’m someone who really wants a custom 100% keyboard. It’s a unique keyboard but I wouldn’t buy it because it replaces important keys with pointless aesthetic pieces. It’s a little disappointing because I feel like it’s the only full size custom keyboard on the market, other than like a keychron.
Right? Why make it 100% size if it has 98% of the functionality? Most people looking for a 100% want each and every key, which is what separates the full size market from 1800s. QK really missed the mark with this imo.
i understand that you like clack but it would be super useful to use foam for these builds if it comes with it just to compare, some of us do like foam :(
a lot of these youtubers/mechkeyboard community are too pretentious and think that theyre superior for not liking foam, and that foam likers are all amateurs who have no taste unfortunately. same goes for using 1.2pcb, flexcuts, liking screens, or saying that a thousand dollars for a keyboard is overpriced
@@bricekim as someone who only owns a $20 Filco keyboard. Foam boards are just, boring. They sound the same. Every switch that you put on it will sound almost the same. 1.2mm PCB sounds very thin. Flexcuts? You can't feel it anyway on top of added muted sound. Screens? This is just aesthetical preference. Thousand dollar keyboard is overpriced? Of course it is, just like shoes, watches, cars, etc. some people that has the money doesn't care what overprice is. If it is overprice to you, just don't buy it, easy
I also like foam, have 2 boards full of em. The problem with including them is that they take extra effort to rebuild and foam sounds fairly samey across many builds especially if PE foam is involved. So it's usually not worth the effort, and doesn't do particularly much If he adds it it'll be nice. More way to see builds. More better. But I wouldn't hold my breath
I would love to see this as a southpaw version just because I use a sp-111 for work and as much as I love the I guess the first variation, having this as southpaw would be nice and unique (plus I can hot swap if want to, not gonna desolder a whole board which I need for work lol)
Looking at the chat I saw someone mentioned issues with the plate cushions, can someone tell me exactly what it was? I pre-ordered this as soon as it was on with plate cushion option and now I'm a littlte bit worried
kinda new into the hobby and was checking on reviews on this board, alot of people are saying its "matrix" themed/inspired? @@alexotos it is MatrixLabs right? Or at least that is the one that i think the QK101 looks closest to, but I see what people mean now regarding inspirations

@@nightcorespectrumchanneloh haha gotcha. what do you think of your QK80 mk2? I have the original QK 80 and I love it. @@amizan8653 I have no experience with other premium boards, but coming from a cheaper board, this sounds full and the density of this kit helps a lot to make the sound cleaner. I am using blue cheese switch with pc plate and all foams, it gives a thock + pop sound which I like
@@MaggieMochi_u3u I know and I knew the point would be missed, heh. Now, I know some people in the West dig that and it's obvious that QK wanted to accomodate literally everyone but sometimes less is better and trying to please both the East and West crowd can lead to compromises that are better left avoided. That being said, I can't wait for the Neo100 if they ever decide to make one and in the meantime, Vertex looks more promising, IMO, unless you're into aforementioned China board design...
okay, I don't use 100%s and need the whole nav cluster, but I GASPED at the bongo cat lcd option. I don't care for screens in general, but I've always felt the need for a typing speed-responsive bongo cat animation in my life. :'(
Qk could have gone and added a optional/fixed wkl blocker and that could have made this board look better aesthetic and def a wkl blocker for a 100% board would be so much more up my Ally.
Btw, production version will have torx screws. QK just confirmed.
It's always the bongo cat with you people, isn't it? I mean, it's the only correct option, but still.

Yeah the QK design is not my favorite. Hoping a Neo full size is announced sometime this year
Check out the Vertex Intro S100. It’s going into group buy soon and keeps all the navigation keys.

this is why i love my boston 120%
I dont get why you need a 100% keeb.
I love 65 and got 75s too and a numpad extra i never use. Can und explain to me the need for 100%?
Really wish the new plate was used for this. Nice lookin board. Wonder what their 75mk2 will look like.
They've got the 80 MK2 out now with the same design language, if you want an idea of a numpad less look with this board.
I love this design actually. It’s busy, but retrofuturist and whimsical so it works IMO.
Agreeeee
Same.
I would be inclined to convert my second QK100 to this but its too hard to give up the CF plate. I really like the matrix type screen. Like 80s Sci-Fi
I like full size keyboards . I need more of them coming out in 2025
They should have gone the Zoom75 route and included modules for the screen and badge. Someone buying a full size wants more keys.

Take a look at the Daring Run Flip 6P or Pangea full size if you want something more premium...
QK101 V2 classic (without that utterly useless screen) when?
That would be the Neo full size I think
