Walnut is a terrible wood choice for guitars. It's never very resonant and sometimes it's as resonant as a chunk of lead. You're lucky if it has even average sustain even though it's quite a good looking wood.
@@yellowcat1310 usually the guys that say that but not always. some guys just have a plane out. tin ear , everything on the guitar influences the string, the cleaner, the pickup, the more the wood is able to get into the sound of the guitar. the more distorted the pickup or the more output. it has the less of the woods on the guitar shine through. there's a lot of idiots out there. absolutely Walmart has its own sound compared to Ash or rosewood or mahogany 100%. it affects the tone but most guys have these terrible amplifiers that are too distorted with heavy output pickups. so you can't tell when you start getting into that territory depends on several factors
