Laura dancing in the field - loved it! Her badge find was awesome. As for you Stef, shut the hell up with that 1st silver of 2024. 😳 Awesome find!! Congrats ✌🏼❤️😊🍀
Haha, thank you! That first silver definitely sent me somewhere into outer space. 🤣 Laura is awesome to dig with - one of my favorite people! 😊 I’ve known her since I first started detecting and she’s become a GREAT friend!
Only thing i could find in my colonial copper book that had lines similar to her copper was a New Jersey it had a large sheild on the back that had lines similar to hers but thet would mean most of the sheild is worn off hers.
I looked at it really closely when I was editing - could actually be a Wood’s Hibernia, perhaps, but it’s definitely under weight. The lines could actually be a counterstamp of some kind. It’s too bad it came out so rough! I can ID almost any colonial coin thrown at me, it’s rare that I can’t figure it out.
This year, I hunted a field next to my home, with my Nox 800 that I've not found many things in with my other machines. I dug a wheat, a 1940s padlock, and a piece of antique costume jewelry, I think my sister or mom owned. I feel the nox is great at making old sites new again. Happy Hunting!
I ran a 600 for 5 years and did very well with it! The trouble when I’m out with others and filming with the Manticore is that I really try and film the targets more often… always a big mistake! The Manticore has lit up a LOT of sites I hunted with my 600. Just wait until you see some of these hunts down the pipeline… 🤣 You’ll be considering a Manticore, lol!
@@StefDigs Can't wait to see what's to come. PS I'd say that chain is from the 1970's if no maker's mark it's just a generic chain but still silver, nice find! That reale is amazing!
@@MUDSWAT thank you! Yeah, definitely modern, but I don’t hunt parks, and I seldom hunt yards or the beach, lol! I can’t tell you how many more coins on edge that I’ve dug with the Manticore over the Equinox. 😁 Was a really nice upgrade!
@@MUDSWAT huuuuuge! I went from an AT Max to a 600. I’d have bought an 800 but at the time, they were backordered everywhere and I figured the 600 was more than adequate for relic hunting, which it certainly proved to be!
Enjoyed both parts of the vid- Laura's cut copper was very cool! The shield nickel was as pristine as I can ever recall seeing but that 1R- would've given me the shakes too- what a way to find the first silver of the year- Congrats my friend!
Well deserved shakes. That is a ball tearer of a coin. Well done. Really happy for you Stef. Good hunt with your mate. She found some nice stuff and the banter would have been great. Good stuff all up. Take care mate 🦘🦘😁👍
Thanks for taking the time to explain the one reale coin. I like hearing the minting details, etc. For 250 years old, that coin is stunning! Congratulations
Thank you! Almost all of our Spanish colonial coinage came from this continent, so it’s incredibly rare to find one all the way from Spain! The reason it does not have the Pillars of Gibraltar on the reverse is because there was no “nod” to the old world meeting the new. This was made for use in Spain and somehow found its way all the way over here!
Heck yes, I enjoyed it. And it isn't JUST the finds; you obviously love what you do. And that adds so much to the video. You probably didn't know that we all knew you were shaking long before you mentioned it. I feel sure that is the first Reale of any denomination from Spain I have seen , glad you dug it.
Thank you! Haha, whenever I play back the footage of an exciting find, I hear myself hyperventilating. 😂 I love watching people’s reactions, too! Makes it much more enjoyable to watch, for sure! 😊
What a delightful Reale Stef, the mystery copper could have a harp image like the Hibernias or Bust and Harp tokens we find in Canada. Great bonus to find the necklace and I think you should give it a new lease on life by wearing it ( make sure clasp is good ) 😉🇨🇦
Thank you! I thought about a Wood’s Hibernia but it wasn’t quite the right size and it would’ve been very underweight (I’ve dug a lot of Wood’s Hibernias somehow, lol). Remains a mystery!
Thank you! Yeah, the ones from Spain don’t turn up here too often - most of the reales we dig were minted on this continent and are therefore easier to find.
I love them, too! I think the reason I like them so much (apart from the fact they display well) is because you can go on a mind-trip thinking about all of the conversations it “heard around the water cooler” decades to hundreds of years ago!
Congrats on your real - that was a beauty!! You didn't do bad at the orchard either, I would have been really happy with the barrel tap and button! Thanks for another awesome video! ❤
Thank you! The coin at the end was pretty unexpected - playing the footage back I can hear the coin whistle now (as I call it), but that’s one of the only times I didn’t call, “coin!” with the Manticore. 😂 Made for a sweet surprise!
New subscriber here stef, im only a few vids deep so far but wow that silver was a killer 😍 so much detail for its age! Congrats and I look forward to watching much more of your content. Hoo roo from Oz 👋🇦🇺
I’ve been to Seville, my favorite city my wife and I went to in Spain. So much history. Side note, the Dorne Castle scenes Game of Thrones was filmed at the Alcazar in Seville Spain and Columbus’ tomb is there as well.
@@StefDigs Maybe. Most cider was made in barrels at that time. I would assume it would be like ale. I am not sure how the maple sap pipeline taps are made. They live in the trees year round. I only ever ran buckets sugaring, never really looked at the pipeline setups.

I don’t think so - what you don’t see is the elapsed 45 minutes we spent staring at it in the field. 😆 A NJ crossed my mind but the lines are only really sharply defined in one spot. Still a mystery!
