- In this week’s episode, Doug invites Nichola and I out for some metal detecting at a colonial farm dating back to the early 1700s! We found OLD coins, including a couple of rare coins, and some truly stunning relics were saved from the ground, as well! Who says you have to “stay out of the paddock?” Enjoy!

Nice for Doug to include you guys 👍 Good footwear makes a huge difference when on your feet all day ( I work construction and spend more on boots than anything else). If your feet get damaged then you ain't going out 😉
Yes, he’s big on invites! Always a great time! Definitely super important to have a great set of boots - I’ve got pronated arches and even then, these were really comfortable.

Wind noise not nearly as bad as you imagined. Your trio of diggers were on it today, the condition of the large cent was NICE! Loved the Shield Nickels, truly another hot site. BTW, I have that brand boot and they are a must here in the wooly swamp.

Nice coins Stef. I got a pair of the KalKal snakebite boots and they are extremely comfortable. I have allot of rattle snakes where I hunt so having these boots lets me concentrate on the detecting… John
Nice! I’ve been really impressed with the ones I’ve got - been wearing them almost every time I go out (unless it’s well over 50 degrees - then they’re a wee bit warm, lol!).
@@StefDigs my boots aren’t insulated so I can wear them when it’s hot and the snakes are out. Now if I can just stop myself from catching the rattlesnakes.
@@shooterjohn7163 Oh, that was a good thought on their part! We don’t really have venomous snakes in CT, so I just opted for insulated waterproof boots. 😊 I have snake chaps for when I travel south, though!

Hey Stef another gr8 video . Hey just an fyi aliy of farmers would carry thimbles for closing up burlap sacks when done filling them. Hope this helps keep them coming always love your videos!

Crazy how some coins are more prevalent in some states than others. I found 9 shield nickels last year here in Minnesota, but largies are as rare as hen's teeth. I'm lucky to find one a year. Enjoyed the video. That's a great site!

Nice vid Stef, the boots are such a great item, need me some for our venomous snakes here. I like button finds. Wish I could come detect with you, you find cool history stuff. We don’t have as much history in OZ 🇦🇺🦘I’m guessing you up your sensitivity and lower your recovery to find deep bits, really cool finds. Brun
Thank you! I actually don’t have to up my sensitivity too much - but I will definitely lower the recovery speed if I know I’m looking for deep targets out in a pasture with a little less iron infestation.

Great video stef! Just wondering, if you could what machine was Doug using? (Number ? 800,900) I’m about to pull the trigger on a manticore. Do you really love it? What happened this video compared to last one? Anyhoot, keep up the amazing work.
He was using a 600. The deal is, and this IMPORTANT for anybody who reads my reply: When I’m hunting with other people, I’m little more than the camera person and have less than half the time to swing than anybody else does (which is why I generally go alone). By the time I walk back to my machine from a friend, they’re already on another target. The Manticore is superior to the Equinox, no doubt about it!
