@@505adventures5 OH! I didn’t recognize your TH-cam handle - good to hear from you! Gonna have to make a trip back to New England one of these days so we can dig!
I’m so glad to see you back. I couldn’t help but cry knowing the pain and irritation you’ve endured. They make it so hard to deal with the death in this country. The paperwork and sending out death certificates only to be told there was a mistake and the process needs to be restarted or shifted. Always feeling like the next day with bring a wall to run into. I can see it in your face and I’m sure the one thing that really helps is zoning out to the sound of a metal detector. You’re one of the best.
Thank you so much ❤️ I actually don’t zone out when I detect, so it has been difficult. I’ve also been finding random crucifixes in the woods - the other day I saw two of them in separate areas just hanging in trees. I’ve been crying a lot when I go out to dig because dig time is actually my thinking time, unfortunately. These institutions sure are a pain in the butt, although I did manage to settle her IRA and pension on my own already. Now we’re down to a checking account and a car. 🤞🏻
@@StefDigs it’s such a pain. I’ve been there. Fortunately for me detecting is the only time I can close out the world and hyper focus. My morning walk on the other hand is where I think myself to death. The things you interpret as signs can be interesting too. When my dad died I came home to several crows in the yard. I ended up thinking “what does it all mean and does it mean anything?”. I just know I’m glad to see you making content again.
@@GetThatTreasure the signs have been strange, but they’re there. I’m specifically trying not to seek them out, or I’ll find signs in everything. However, there’s a good reason I used the words “we are never far apart” at the end of the video. When I was cleaning out her office the morning after she died, one of the very first things I reached for was a tiny envelope with something heavy in it. It was a magnet/card with a photo of a little girl on the phone. It read, “we are never far apart.” She never sent it to me, must have forgotten. Naturally that got the tears flowing. A few days before she died, I was in my basement at home cleaning up. One of the first things I found was a framed print of a poem that she’d given to me for my high school graduation. The second half of the poem began with, “it’s time for me to let go now,” and it was hard to refute that as a sign. She was a writer, so I think she may very well present herself to me in writing.
Im very sorry to hear about your loss, I hope you manage to make peace with the loss and find a way to keep the remembrance of the good times always as a first though. It is good to see you out detecting and back making videos.
@@crisdebeer9763 thank you ❤️ All I can think of right now are the good times I shared with her and everything she did for me. Nobody on earth would’ve ever gone to bat for me the way she did time and time again. It’s tough knowing that the person who loved me more than anybody ever could is no longer here.
I'm so sorry Stef! One silver lining is you were with her at the end and she knew it. I was completely estranged from my mother when she died and I regret that. I'm sure you being there gave her a lot of comfort. I'm glad you're back and hopefully over the worst of this. I'm sending you a big virtual hug! ❤❤
Thank you, Elisabeth ❤️ I knew I would’ve regretted not seeing her (even if I did have to argue with myself over it for a couple of days, but it didn’t take long to realize I’d be crazy not to try and see her). I don’t know how I could’ve had closure otherwise. So glad I saw her.
@@StefDigs I have no doubt your being there brought her a lot of peace and happiness. You made the right choice traveling down to see her, even though it was a hard one to make. You only deserve good things and happiness! ❤

@@StefDigs Yes I completely understand my mom became some one I didn’t recognize anymore her doctor thought she had dementia but that was not the case but at the same time the cancer explains why they acted the way they did it’s not who they really were it was the illness that has given me piece of mind and I hope it will for you too
@@kevinscott4747 definitely gave me some peace of mind, yes. 2 years ago, I figured it was dementia. She was bad about going to follow-up appointments, so the only way they were able to diagnose the cancer was by bringing her to the optometrist, since she did try to take care of her vision. They saw two dark spots in some images and it spiraled from there. Wouldn’t wish this loss or that illness on my worst enemy.

God bless you Stef!! Thank you for another great video!! Congratulations on the half dime🎉
@@mysticmimaw thank you! 😊
Hi Stef, Thoughts are prayers are with you! Beautiful tribute at the end!!!

Oh dear Stef that is a most difficult personal situation and not something you would want anyone to go through.
