Stacey just super stoked on the new coils! Hell yeah lol🤙🏻
I really like what you guys are doing with the random little annotations throughout the video. Nice touch! Looking good.
Thanks Ricky! Trying to find a good balance between voice over, music and text.
The ground thing gets me every time. Someone needs to invent a blue tooth welder ground.
The beer reviews are the icing, the 80 series Chinook is the cake.
milk sugar is lactose 😂love the build, thanks for the videos!
Sick home renovations... Your house is looking goood while you sit out front drinking beers 👍
Thanks man! Interior tour coming soon.
Looking so so good... You two are killing it❤️❤️❤️
I've been absolutely loving this build series! It is just amazing when you see someone build something genuinely unique. Great job, guys!
Thanks so much Tom! It feels good.
Glad we could help get the coils in for you! Stoked to see this beast coming to life.
🍻🍻🙌🙌
Really enjoying following this build, you guys are instant are on instant click status for me 🤘
Hell yeah! TWR fam ✊😎
Just found your channel and started binge-watching the Chinook build. You guys blew through that $10,000 a long time ago.
🤷🏼♀️ oops that happens fast!
Greetings from the snowbound Okanagan again folks, thanks for the video. It's looking like the suspension will be about right, well done on the math - it's always nice when the math works out. Without casting too many aspersions on fruity beers, I'll just say it's wonderful we don't all have the same tastes. :) Thanks again and stay well.
Damn I need these beers in Oz they sound fiya! Great vid guys
FIYA indeed!
Dream machine.
IPA review and Chinook update what more can I ask for lol. 🎉
🍻🤘😎
That’s looking so good! Nice work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Good job guys, checking in from Brisbane. Keen to see it finished 😅
Cheers man! Matthew used to live there!
Love the build by the way. And the yota truck that's what I want to do to my little truck one day SAS.
Dig the beer can montage! Clocking on the front springs might check on. Good stuff! Super rad build 🤘
Thank you! Never heard this term, is that shimming the coils so they sit perfectly vertical?
Usually
Usually there is a depression or marking on the lower control arm indicating where you would locate the end of the spring, or “pigtail” of the coil. This will help make your side to side hight more even. If there are no marking on the lower control arm I suppose there might be an indicator on the upper spring pocket. Just locate the very end of the coil in the same location on both sides, should be good to go. I.e. like as if there were a clock face sitting on the bottom of the LCA. Clock them in the same location. Easier to explain in person I suppose. Hope that helps a little. Keep um coming love seeing the progress on the build!
what a good job guys it is necessary to be well informed of the places where they go because they are all different with many surprises along the way the weather is a factor and the heights are also the problem of supply either fuel or food a big hug and many blessings they are geniuses
Love you two - always happy to contribute Winter Ale!
Awesome video guys 😁🤚
Stay blessed 🇺🇲👋👏
It seemed that you didn't get the movie reference on the beer. Ricky Bobby!!!
im new to this channel, but its great. keep up the great work guys
Welcome aboard!
Love it!
It would be awesome to do a Toyota meet up on the mainland for a big farewell send off before you head south!
Agreed! Where's a good neutral spot?
@@ToyotaWorldRunners there is a new casino at the south end of the Massey tunnel that is pretty much on your way if you’re coming to Tsawwassen. and heading to the peace arch or truck border crossings. It’s also a fairly central point for the lower mainland. Or there’s a big mall right at the ferry terminal
We got a 75' Chinook bone stock, but are feeling jealous of that beast!
just found your channel, and it's been real fun watching your build videos. looking fwd to seeing y'all hit the road 🍻
Welcome to the family!
Thought the thumbnail was of a Mazda Rx4 at first glance.lol
Looking awesome guys! Cant wait to see it in person😎
I seen your post man I hope your feeling better!
Thank you, on the mend already 🙌
🤣 the fiendish foam hoover
so satisfying to see this build come together, keep up the good work!
Keep up the great work!
I would love to see a quick walk around of that 100 series and tundra you have in the background of this video. As a fellow 2UZ V8 owner I always preach the awesome thirstyness of these engines. I'm also super interested to see the performance of the 3.4 with all the extra weight and if you guys will have to regear, supercharge or figure something out if it doesn't quite have the beans to pull the Chinook around! Awesome build though and I can't wait to see the end results!
They both belong to Jason, the owner of Westcan Overland, our main sponsor - we'll have to see what he thinks about a walkaround! As for the engine, remember that Toyota but 22R's and 22RE's in 26 foot motorhomes waaay bigger than the Chinook! It will be interesting to see how well it moves though, there's a few other yoterhomes with 3.4s and they seem to be very happy.
This build is awesome! You guys are fun to watch and work very well together!
Thanks so much!
You guys should go meet Buckin Billy Ray he is a tree climber/feller on Vancouver island.
I haven't been following your build it just showed up but I'm hoping you do a dual transfer cases from marlin or trail gear
Dobinson springs are flexy ;) Very popular choice in Australia for the 80s. You could always fit airbags inside the rear coils if the weight requires it.
this build is sick! i noticed the bracket that you made for the shock. I think the original pivot point would be better because of how the diff articulates, it would allow the shock to pivot. but the new bracket is the other way around so when the diff moves the bracket or even the shock would just bend or break.
Yes, it will create some binding, don't think it would actually break but who knows. It was made hastily and we're going to correct it!
We had a tree fall in the yard the other day I will I was cleaning it up, you guys came to mind. No idea why, but my mind said to me "I think TWR is supposed to be on the road by now". Anyway, I'm stoked to see it coming along and hope wherever your are in the future from this video, it is all going just like you dreamed it would.
That may have been the same time our tent cart-wheeled over the fence! Well, coming from the future here, I'd say the dream is well on it's way! Thank you Phil.
Nice
Looking real good! You might want to drill a hole in the DOM and do a plug weld as well as weld around the end!
We did! I guess we forgot to show it.
Great work, it's been fun to watch your progress. I'm not going to lie, I was hoping the Chinook was going to get dual cased. Keep up the great work. Can't wait for what's ahead.
It was in our original plan, we even had an adapter plate given to us for it but it can without the right coupler and long story short, it didn't work out. It's already in the plans for 2.0 though! Thanks for watching.
@@ToyotaWorldRunners 🤙🏻
If it’s in the cards I’d say get adjustable rear upper and lower control arms and lengthen them a bit. Helps correct pinion angle if needed and that little extra length helps a ton with stability.
The rear will sit down about 2.5-3 more inches once it's loaded. The budget has been pretty well eaten up so far!
Great build series. You should turn the shock mounts back to factory orientation to relieve stress points with left to right axle swing with the track bar. Otherwise amazing job and I'm enjoying all of them now.
Thanks for the comment Brad, going to see what we can do to make a bracket that allows for the right movement.
@@ToyotaWorldRunners The double shear design is an improvement though I would try to incorporate that as well. Much more durable and less likely to strip again. Best of luck chasing your dream.
Bung, I gotta redo mine because the mechanic's that rebuilt my transmission stole my nice ones and replaced them with factory stuff, just found out they were gone the other day🤬
HALTING ALL OTHER WORK... I must watch TWR! :-D
🤘🤘 Notification squaaaaad!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners As soon as I see the TH-cam notification, I text message all my friend who have TWR T-shirts... it's like a religion up in here. Hope your back feels better soon.
What are the sweatshirts your wearing I love them!
Awesome work guys, I'm wondering why your trying to reinvent the wheel though? Adjustable pan hard and drag links with life time warranty available from superior engineering in Australia (same country as springs....and what about castor correction of control arms..Offset bushes upto 31/2 inches of lift anything over is correction plates or control arms...as said All parts available for Australia..👍👍👍
Yep, they sell them here at a local specialty 4x4 shop too! We're not made of money... Yet! Although it may appear that way sometimes 😂 I looked and a few Aussie companies don't even ship to Canada, plus it would have been ~$1000 for front and rear track bars, where as making our own only cost a few dollars in metal. We'll be talking about the caster correction in the next vid! Thanks for watching.
So your girlfriends dream is to live in a 60 sq. foot overland vehicle and she drinks beer? My wife's dream is for me to work more overtime. I think you win . But seriously i'm enjoying your channel and cant wait for it to be "rollin'.
So awesome! I just sent you guys an instagram message, let me know if you need a hand fitting out that cabin 👍
What break rotors are you running back and rear
Powerstop Extreme brake package. The "big brakes" for the 80 series later models.
where the link to the sound deadening?
amzn.to/3TKXuwp
Sorry about that!
Still waiting to see it with the headlights on! What’s the setup there?
Soon! and pretty much a harness bigger than the engine harness lol!
Can’t wait it’s looking amazing, I’m still trying to get mine street legal lol
Any closed captioning? I am deaf, cannot hear,
We can work on that, I think there is an auto-generate CC from TH-cam in the bottom right corner.
@@ToyotaWorldRunners Thank you!!
@@ToyotaWorldRunners it worked!! btw, I am a proud owner of a pristine 1985 Toyota 4runner SR5 5 speed on 35's with 5:29 gearing, TG rear drum to disc brake conversion... has the 22re. I have a question? what rear hand brake kit would you recommend for my said 4runner with the TG setup...?
