I was just gifted one of these a few hours ago; found your video, looks like it will live again. Thanks!
That's awesome! Enjoy the music.
Have the same issue. During diagnosis was able to put some heat on the PCB with a hot air station and the thing fired right up. Debating to use SMD caps or radial caps to repair it. Your repair looks good enough for me.
Thank You.
Great run down, thank you! My parent’s Bose has had the same issue, same leaky appearance under the smd caps. Looking for the best deal on the replacement caps now, sure will be a small order so not cheap!
I hope you're able to find the right replacement capacitors!
I'm also having a difficult time finding the correct replacement capacitors. Is there any chance that you would be able to give us more information purchasing replacement capacitors. Thanks
I’m having this issue and Bose tells me they can’t fix it but wants me to trade it back to them for something I have no interest in. Who can fix mine is what I want to know?
Found your repair, Thank you from California. will try it on mine, can't get aux or radio to fonctionne !!
Glad I could help
Having some issues with our Bose Wave radio is there anyway we send it to for repairs?
Thanks for the video, what were the size of the capacitors used?
It has been awhile since I did this repair. I used the same values that were marked on each cap.
Good video thanks. One question, why did you not desolder the caps from the underside of the pcb with a desolder sucker?
The caps on the Bose was surface mount.
Yep spotted it now
I’m dealing with the same issue on mine. It was a gift from my late grandmother, so I would like to keep it. Problem is finding someone to repair it, especially now that I see it can be done.
So I called Bose, and I checked around there are no local repair shops that fix Bose radios. Where are you located? How much would this cost me?
What were the capacitor values? Are the Original ones marked/labelled ? Tks
Yes all the caps are labeled.
When’s Coffee Break / Arcade updates coming back?
The Coffee Break and Arcade updates are currently on a coffee break themselves! But fear not, they'll be back with a vengeance!
