Nissan is right up there with Porsche when it comes to preserving and displaying their heritage. Racing is deep in their DNA. Amazing cars.....awesome company.
I started watching this video while playing gran turismo 6 on my ps3. I've got tears in my eyes. This is beautiful. I need more of these manufacturers' garages like this, Hagerty. Please.
I first saw photos of this place on Speedhunters ages ago. Tried to visit in 2011 but they said it was not open to the public (then). Was able to check out this amazing collection a few years later when the public was allowed in. Such a great experience.
I've been to that museum in Japan. Kind of difficult to get there from Tokyo, but well worth it. The car on special display when I went in 2018 was the 432 s30z!
Man that black s13 made me cry. In 07 i got a black hatch that sat in a garage for 10 years u registered with 44k miles for 1800 bucks in va. It looked that good. Biggest regret in life was selling that car.
Loved them when they turned up at Bathurst. grunt boxes with over boost. Poor ol ford and Holden where so pissed of they banned them. I had a new 200 sx when they came out great memories
You can watch many videos about the Nissan Heritage Collection and everytime it's just mindblowing! Guys like Larry, Kyza and Cody are defenitely the right nerds to appreciate this vast preservation of automotive history. 😎🤟
Probably the best video I've ever seen in a long time thanks Hagerty and especially you Larry for bringing so many memories. Greetings from Saudi Arabia ❤
This was so cool and i appreciate so much the attention paid to the stagea. I just imported my vr4 mitsubishi legnum. Nobody knows what it is but its faster and the unsung jdm wagon king
I'm Japanese, so I'm not good at English, but it's a pretty maniac car. There was Mitsubishi Regnum VR-4/Nissan Stagea 260RS/Toyota Caldina GT-FOUR to compete with Legacy (BD/BG). I don't know if it's accurate because it's google translation・・・ It was a station wagon version of the Galant that underwent a full model change in 1996, and was developed to compete with the Subaru Legacy Touring Wagon, which had continued to advance rapidly at the time. It gained popularity for its fearless front mask with reverse slant nose and cohesive rear style, and at that time, GDI engine-equipped vehicles were the center of sales. In particular, the latter model has a more powerful VR-4 Viento front bumper shape, and it matches well with the Galaxy White, and the VR-4 is still very popular in 2018. The vehicle height is 30mm higher than the base vehicle Galant (roof rail equipped vehicle), and the rear overhang is extended to expand the luggage space. It was exported to North America and Oceania as the Galant Estate, and to Europe as the Galant Combi. However, in Japan, two vehicles sold by Mitsubishi Motors Sales The name "Galant" is not used because it is sold at dealers (Galant stores and Car Plaza stores). Multi-link 5-link suspension is adopted for all four wheels, providing excellent straight-line stability and turning performance. Conversely, like the sedan, the rear also adopts a suspension system that adds a link to the double wishbone of the high-mounted upper arm. The body is roughly divided into the early model and the late model by the bonnet, grille, and rear appearance, and the grade is differentiated by the difference in aerodynamics and the genuine leather specification of the interior (ST, ST- R, VIENTO, VR- 4, etc.). The VR-4, the top model, is equipped with AYC as standard, which electrically distributes the drive distribution of the rear differential lock (differential device) mounted on the Lancer Evolution series. Active stability control system and traction control system are standard equipment. In addition, as a characteristic equipment, a self-leveling suspension with a mechanism that tries to maintain the vehicle height even if a lot of luggage is loaded, and side airbags, which were the first in Japan at the time, were available as options. Of the late model VR-4, type-S has a flare wheel arch, but type-V is not equipped with AYC and only AT is provided. engine Equipped with an in-line 4-cylinder 1,800cc 4G93 (GDI) ・DOHC 16-valve V-type 6-cylinder 2,000cc 6A12/SOHC24 valve, 6A13/SOHC24 valve of 2,500cc V-type 6-cylinder, which is a bore-up version, and DOHC24 valve. Later, the 4G94 (GDI) DOHC 16-valve 2,000cc in-line 4-cylinder and 4G64 (GDI) DOHC 16-valve 2,400cc replaced the three types mentioned above. In addition, the 6A13 engine with a DOHC24 valve head and twin turbocharger (280ps in the late model AT) is installed in the flagship model VR-4. Literally down the street from my house and I've not yet been. I drove past it today and thought, "why haven't I gone yet?" I am ashamed. Though they do take a few cars and rotate them through a small gallery in the AEON Mall Zama, so... does that count?
My First was a Big Boxy Lincoln Town Car then it broke down and My Mom Sold me Her 1994 Nissan Maxima had the 5 speed in it 3.0 VG30 I loved that car I made that car fast! It would roast tires Me and you had the same car lol Mine was white I took my spoiler off the back lowered it on some ADR Sokudo 10s 18inch wheels had under glow on it lol I miss My 94 Maxima so Bad
Thats funny he likes the Stagea, they used to bring near new(no 25 year thing because they were never sold new here) fully loaded examples into a yard here locally for like 5-8k each, probably most are roached by now
Only 2 ppl maintain the entire collection? SAY WHAT!! Do they physically do it all? Or are they responsible for it? As in they hire or get the ppl needed for each cars needs ... mechanical, cleaning, ect...? INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW 😂
i got ters watching the real R33 LM my fav both road and racing and R34 penzoil, of course 400R too :D That Stagea is funn and cool too especially with r33/r34 modification on it with rb26 :D nice to know you visited my country to drive convertible :D
I hope Nissan makes it. Miss my 350z however ol’ Carlos did a number on the company before hopping into the instrument case and peacing out. From the beige Broodhauler (Pathfinder) to Big Altima Energy… Nissan is a brand in steep decline and no amount of fierce stunning and brave bree larson can make up for warmed over sports cars and CVT grenades.
Thank you guys for watching, this was a Nissan nerds dream for sure!
This is the best series on Hagerty. Great work Larry and thanks for bringing it to us.
Looks like you had a blast....
I'm sooooo jealous.....
@@opiealvin the best on Hagerty series so far. There are still a lot more.

Great video, truly inspirational for a Nissan nerd. Great people also - hats off to Cody & Kyza, true enthusiasts. Thanks Larry!
It's like a real life gran turismo garage 😍 Pennzoil R34 has to be my favourite.
Another note: It is You Watanabe's favourite car.
Seeing Kyza's face light up put a tear in my eye!
