Gearbox services should be carried out every 40000miles on the 7 speed S-Tronic DSG gearbox. These are also fitted to the 2, 3.0TDI(single turbo) Audis. The 3.0 BiTDI(twin turbo) uses a torque converter gearbox(also used in RS6) which according to Audi, doesn't require service but ZF, who make the box say it should be serviced at 80000 miles. I'm looking into getting a A6 Allroad hence have found this out. IF your buying a used A6 Auto, do check for history of these gearbox services. Cheers
I've had 4 A6's and and an A8 currently have an S6 avant and I'm sure that you need to do 2 things to fix your problems. they are gearbox service if it's the 7 speed dual clutch and also get the gearbox reset back to basics/learning mode and that should sort your problems and also let the car learn the way you drive which should give you back a few mpgs and make it much much smoother I get mine reset every year or so.
Hey, I’m having the same issue with my 2016 A6 3.0TDI avant with 57.000 miles on the clock. It started playing up about 3 weeks ago. Had the gear box service done today. I’ll let you know in few days if the problem was rectified
@@alsatch_ Hey fella good news. Can’t believe it, 2 days in after a full gear box service and no recurrence of the issue. No more catapulting you forward from 2nd to 1st resulting in whiplash. I’d class that as a good result. Hope this experience helps. All the best
@@alsatch_ Hey mate, Yea full gear box service cost £350 that included filter, oil and labour, work was carried out by my local VW/Audi specialist. I was also advised to get a break fluid service, was told that needs doing every 2 years with these particular vehicles, which I’ll revisit at a later date. After the gear box service I’ve noticed that the start/stop kicks in more frequently. Whereas before the service it would go into 1st when coming to a stop it would then lurch forward without cutting out.
