I hope Audi eventually brings the A5 Avant to the US. Not everyone wants an SUV. Such a practical car, but everyone is so obsessed with SUVs in the US.
Yes! And when you americans crash them, we'll buy them cheap off the auctions, restore them, and drive those nicely-equipped cars happily after 😊
European trim levels are crap.
Love the car, but the price is crazy to me. £60k for a 2.0l petrol with a bit of spec added!

Keep on producing
Hybrid diesels
Mild hybrid you mean with an electric supercharger? Hybrid diesels don’t work very well because diesel engines already produce lots of torque low down same with electric motors.
@@jackjoyce1744 mercedes makes plug in hybrid diesels, look at the E300de
Steering wheel is unbelievably ugly. I just can’t accept it from the time Q4 was released. There was hope that Audi wouldn’t use it in new gen models but they didn’t hesitate 💀
Economy of scale
Reminds me of Audis from 70s
Yeah its very bad and its a shame because Audi used to have some of the best steering wheels
As a Q4 owner, it’s one of the worst parts of the car. It looks and feels so cheap. I would have taken ANY of the existing steering wheels on the other models instead of the one on the Q4.
It's the airbag cover and flat logo. Needs leather + stitching. Looks extremely cheap as is.
It looks gorgeous on the outside and I have no doubt it feels amazing to drive it. Screens are still crap though, I must say it. I love your reviews by the way man. You are really passionate about this and you show your true emotions and thoughts about the cars instead of having fake attitudes like many TH-camrs.
what's even more surprising than the diesel is the brown interior... because that's just not available for order.. in my region at least
Yh it’s a shame.
The all black interior that 90% of new Audis have is so depressing and boring.
@@gaara4667
Exactly. I drive a lot of Audis at work (A3, Q5, Q8) and all of them have black or dark grey interiors. They could look SO much better with a brighter or brown interior but the owners apparently don‘t want that…
@@anabang1251 for real! It’s so weird that they want such a depressing interior and have the audacity to say Audi has the best looking interior.
It’s so dark that it’s hard to really see and appreciate anything inside(and the stupid gloss black pieces everywhere doesn’t help either).
6 Liters is crazy high. The new Passat makes 3 to 4 l/100km at 80-100km/h......
I managed a good 3.7l/100 km with a Passat b7 2.0 tdi 140 HP with no stupid hibrid on it,sooo how the hybrid is helping me?
@eddiemichael4333 where did I say something about hybrids. The new Passat Diesel makes 4l, and surprisingly not only when driving 80km/h as all the other diesels.
And: your diesel doesn't do 3.7l in city stop and go traffic. That's where a hybrid comes in handy. 3.7l is only when you are cruising at 80-90km/h on the motorway or highlands, when you drive 130 it will take more when you drive in the city it will take more and if you only drive short distances it will not only take more but also destroy itself. Hybrids are mostly for short distances and city driving, diesels aren't.
@snap_zsm ok,you know my car better then,I did 3.7 on a Journey with no highways în east Europe ,city and național roads only, with trafic
@@eddiemichael4333 yeah national roads, meaning highlands that's the best you can do for fuel economy. Go to a real big city like Prague, or Berlin then we'll talk. You ain't making 3.7l. It's physically not possible. I drive a similar car myself, we both know 3.7l is under ideal circumstances. Really heavy traffic with lots of stop and go is a different thing.

Finally! Diesel hybrids become a reality!!
you can buy Diesel Hybrids from Mercedes for 10 years now lol imo Diesel hybrids are dumb. Diesel engines love to keep running and a hybrid wants to kill of the engine as often as possible.
@ yes but with a simple tune it’s running always, the most hated thing about diesel’s is the turbo lag, but this is now covered by the electric motor.
I think this car will drive amazing, will do a test drive soon to see.
I love how excited and passionate this guy is! I talk to myself while driving in sort of the same way :D
Diesel will stay forever but with hybrid options
Hybrid options kills diesel engines
@@dzonikg actually hybrid compliments diesel better. Diesel engines are very efficient at constant highway speeds but are very poor at town low speed driving. The small electric drive of a hybrid is perfect here with the low speed stop start traffic. Electric drive is poor at high speed where diesel excels. So the two are a match made in heaven.
@@kondeamani5106 a petrol car with 8 gear transmition works just as well on the highway, and even better on outside the citiy where the limit is 90kmh and you have to break and accelate again for corners, so i think electric is better with petrol
@@zp3721its not i have a 9 speed petrol. Just a 2.0 litre yet it uses 9 litre on average. Diesels use 5 on average
With al emission systems and filters, diesel isn’t 100% reliable anymore. Unfortunately. Good old 1.9tdi days are gone, forever
Similar consumption with my mazda 6 2008, 2.0 diesel, 140 hp. MANUAL :D. Keep up the good work.
Car's goddamn beautiful. Might consider for a future purchase if it gets the 3.0 TDI in its lineup again. Then again, I've already got a diesel - Maybe this gen S5 is worth trying. Thank you for the review!
Hey man great video, just one tip, you forgot to reset short term fuel economy. You started with 690KM total , drove 100km and it was on 700KM.
Imagine if the ue would not put all these eco friendly laws how much better would be since the 2l power and torque did not gained much since 2018
Do you need more power? Most people dont know how to use more power.
@@serhansali Not cecesarly more power, but more furl consumption ,less emissions and ofc maybe more power for less fuel...?
Ever been behind a modern diesel that runs cold due to freezing temperatures and you're in a line? I'm a taxidriver in finland and when the temperatures drop and even if they don't, modern diesels smell horrible and cause me a headache. When soot and deposits accumulate after driving for 100 000km, they start smelling godawful often. Also don't get me started about dpf regenerating in that line or idiots plugging egr and removing dpf. I am very happy about hybrids and fully electric cars getting more common. I don't mind gasoline cars either that much. However i can only imagine what 19 years of breathing diesel fumes in taxilines have done to my health.
S@@lipcsaiify So, exactly what the EU is pushing for? Efficient engines?
I'll do you one better: just get an EV. Instant power delivery, no gear switch lag, way more torque. Oh, it doesn't destroy the environment.

This is definitely the Autobahn KING!👑 Love your reviews!
6 l/ 100km...my 2012 MB C W204, 220cdi, driven over 300tkm takes city 4,5 L- 5.0 L/100km and highway 3.1-4.0 L/ 100km (speed 100-120 km/h)..and road are very bad conditions in Finland now...
Your Merc is from the era where car manufacturers didn't had to put all the useless weight and bateries to get better results. It probably weighs ~1500kg and is much much less complicated and less distracting.
I just did yesterday 200km highway driving with my W204 C200 CDI and got 4.8 L/100km. No way you can get below 4L/100km. City driving is definitly above 6L/100km. I compared this with a friends W204 and he got the same results.
@@x6land there are some C220 CDI that have less consumption than C200 CDI, especially the facelift has a combined fuel economy rating of 4,1L/100km, most efficient C200 CDI ist only 4,8L/100km
@@AdisMedzikovic im talking about a facelift c200 cdi on 16 inch summer tires. The best you could get (if you were very carefull) on highway driving 100 km/h would be 4.5 liters. How would a c220 consume less?
@x6land i don’t know how it works. I just looked at the numbers on Wikipedia for the W204. It says that the most efficient C200cdi is 4,8L and most efficient C220cdi is 4,1L. Look it up.
Looks incredible from the outside! One thing I'm not a fan of though is the extremely cheap (and plastic?) looking Audi logo on the steering wheel as well as the arguably unnecesary screen on the passanger side. Does the engine shut off compeletely or does it sit at idle, when the electric motor is used?
I'm wondering about the longevity of the engine, because cutting off oil circulation, when it's not fully warmed up, is brutal for turbo engines.
It shuts off completely, i don’t think it will be a problem.

Love it! You can order the new e klasse with the 3Liter diesel engine love that its still possible
I'd like to point out that's not a rev counter, that's a digital gauge showing 0 to 25L /100km (I'd have a massive laugh if the engine would redline at 2500rpm like a 13L lorry engine).
Either way, theoretically when the engine is off, it uses 0L/100km so it's a good indicator of when the engine is on or off.

Aziz the driver display doesn't show the full map view any longer on the new audi anymore? You know the full or partial map on the drivers display like it used to?
As newer cars have anti-syphon protection, probably the fuel pistol/pump was that close so the fuel splashed back and pump clicked. Just don't stick it so deep (that's what she said)
6.1l for 100km for a mild-hybrid diesel is not good at all..
I don't know the terrain that you drove or the milage of the car to determine if it's something with the test, or something with the car
I wonder if all those starts and stops is healthy for the engine. I'm concerned about the wear and also when does the engine warm up?
Usually the engine only turns off when warm enough, also I think that the thousands of engineers already thought of that when making these cars. We are talking about German cars here.

Diesels for the win
What stand do you use for the camera? It seems really good. Thanks in advance!
All well and good, but due to these environmental restrictions, the cost is not just the diesel itself but also its maintenance, such as cleaning the manifolds, EGR, and particulate filters, which get clogged even with relatively low mileage. Not all models provide access to these parts, and the engine often needs to be removed, which involves very high costs!
2.0TDI in a luxury Škoda. Engine itself is at least 10 years old construction, if not more.
Interior 🎉😍👌💯
S line is a must
Such electric "mild hybrid" systems will cost 30 000€ to replace in 5 years..beats any use of diesel..
We also know that long journey cars with high mileage are in way better condition than short journey cars, due to more starting od the engine, hot-cold cycles etc., so that electric system shutting down the diesel engine all the time is not a good thing at all..

Imagine cars with Diesel engines, the Toyota plug in system of the new Prius, and manual gearboxes..
That would be an extremely inefficient combination from a technical standpoint. Likely fun machines but much less efficient than a complete electric power train.
@TheFlatronify less efficient but not much. Plus the advantage of range and self charging during town driving
Seeing this makes me never sell my Audi A5 3.0 2015. Cars are gone in completely wrong direction. Only car that i might be buying in the future will be older than my current car.

A new fuel efficient 2.0 L diesel car should use around 3- 4L pr 100Km.
Even my old 2003 C-class station wagon does around 4.5L ish pr 100Km driving locally.
if you buy the car to KEEP, and do a lot of long distance driving, diesel is still your best choice. PHEVs are a nightmare post-warranty.
How's the handling? Is the b10 a5 better than the c8 a6?

A5 used to mean its cabriolette or convertable, now it means its little bit larger then A4 but small er the A6

I wish we could create a social online group to spread and become more reliable so that diesel does not disappear all over the world.
Well, I do 5.4 l/100km in my c220d from 2015, without any hybrid help. Thats real life driving, traffic jam to work and weekend fun trips. So I would say that Im not impressed with 2025 4 cylinder diesel from audi - it should do better.
I also dont understand why its 4 wheel drive, that doesn't help with fuel consumption either. Its heavy and only complicates the system. No need in such a diesel car.
The interior is absolutely too much and messy. It would stress me out after work with all these digital screens, driving home.
I would prefer lesser screens and more premium materials.
Thanks for the comment, i get the point but i can't agree. It has quattro because its necessary for snowfall safe driving and so on
