    Brilliant video 👍🏻, the boat is basically a Takacat clone, I have a Truekit Discovery 330 catamaran and they certainly do fly along.

      What did the import tax cost you for the Trukit? I was wanting one as they look fantastic quality but it’s already a couple of grand then will be the import tax on top of it. Think I will have to go for the Takacat 340lx as I can get one of them in the UK.

    • @TheHopefulAngler
      @TheHopefulAngler ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The import tax is a real downside mate, around £500 which I certainly wasn’t expecting and although the boat is spot on if I’d known I was going to get stung with that I would have went with a Honwave which was my second choice, but hey ho you only live once 😂

    with the tohatsu the 10,15 and 20 HP are all the same engine, so u don't save any weight going smaller. Also ( I am in Australia) prices are very close. You notice that for many OEMs, where there use the same model with different config to archive different HP rating, prices are very close. hence I put 20 Hp Tohatsu on my SIB ;-), not weight save if I got the 15 , and nearly the same price.

    • @username-mc7jw
      @username-mc7jw 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My Suzuki 15 HP 4-stroke EFI weighs in at 97 pounds. There is no way I'd trust that skinny wire transom and a couple loops of PVC with my $3,500 investment.

    • @deaffatalbruno
      @deaffatalbruno 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@username-mc7jw I don't think the transoms are the issue with these SIBs. Very stable etc. Probably the strongest part of the boat. ... the bigger worry about a sibs are punctures . Fishing hocks and rocks are the problem, the transom will survive even if the boat sinks. I used my sib a few times, def liked it, but having a second person on the boat , that hooks not just fish, ;-), ahm, well I upgraded to a polycraft. So transoms def good enough, airtubes, not so sure.

    Nice review. Question for you. Which boat would you rather be in if caught out in bad weather. The Catamaran or the U-shape with keel, assuming all else equal, such as both fully inflatable, both with airdecks, and assuming same boat lengths?

  • @jasoncartridge5712
    @jasoncartridge5712 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey buddy,
    I'm now in a dilemma between the Pro 365 and the Kat 330-both have their pros and cons. The Kat 330 is definitely easier and quicker to set up, by the looks of it? The engine, while the Kat 330 is rated for up to 15hp, I know you tried the 20hp, but is that ok? I'm aware the 15hp and 20hp are the same weight. I'd prefer the 20hp so if upgrading the boat etc I can swap it over?
    However, would using the 20hp on the Kat 330 affect ones insurance, as technically, it’s only rated for 15hp.
    My main use-family trips (4 plus the dog) in the harbour-the Kat 330 & Pro 365 should be solid, but the Kat might be definitely be less faff to get on the water compared to the Pro 365. ( I don't have the option to leave inflated) The Kat & Pro 365 should handle occasional spins out with a friend pretty well too. But, if I'm leaning toward the ease of use and setup, Kat?? or Pro! So was wondering what the best option would be for me?

    I have 3 Options to buy, expensive Bombard C3 or C4 max 30HP, than an allroundmartin Poker 430 Boat max 30HP. And an colibri Catamaran 430 max rated for 20HP.
    But my quastion the Bombard and Poker 430 Boat have aluminium Floor, and the Bombard an would stiffed Kiel, and the Poker 430 an air filled keel. And the downside of the catamaran is it is only rated for 20HP engine, and it only have this air filled paddleboard floor.
    My quastion is: is it worth to by the catamaran or better this normal inflatable boats?

    It appears that the Katsport is just a re-branded Takacat. I find the Takacat style transoms to be hokey and unacceptable. They look like a cheap design stolen from a $300 Mariner. Little PVC loops holding onto a 100# motor is a recipe for disaster. No thank you... Now, if they replaced that wire coat-hanger transom with aluminum or plywood, I'd be taking a serious look at this boat.
