Several years ago when I was on a Great Lakes channel for Lake Superior Agates, I found out about using CLR for cleaning agates. Before then, I didn't know about the for cleaning agates or minerals.

That’s awesome! I learned about CLR from one of my co-workers when I landscaped for a little while!

I like to use CLR, but I leave it over night. By the way, the little red guy you picked up first after rinsing off the stones was Jasper.

Super rad. I've been hunting a lot lately. Used to only hunt crinoids and small fossils but now I've switched to mineral identification. Very rad

Thanks for the video, I’ve got a quarty agate with druzy pocket. I accidentally sock that into tap water and the inside of the agate turned green rusty. Do you think CLR remover would work for my case?

Sorry for responding so late! I have been super inactive but yes I’m sure clr should work! Let me know how it goes or went!

Hello there. I found this gray rock that has quartz like bits to it. It feels heavier than it should. I think it may be a big quartz with a layer of gray crud on it. I put it in vinegar and it bubbles. Is there anything else I can do to get rid of the gray crud?

    • @urbanhound007

Hello! The best option I tell everyone to use is CLR! I’m not sure if you tried it yet but I believe it works better than vinegar. Let me know if you find a solution!
